The 2024 Ford Ranger Lariat Is A Modernized Midsize Truck With Superior Turbo Power

- When the #FordRanger first returned to our shores in 2019, it was dated on arrival due to a chassis that was designed back in 2011. For 2024, America is finally getting the newest version of the #Ranger and it has the chops needed to do battle in the very fresh midsize truck segment. This #RangerLariat trim is the most luxurious version and it comes standard with the most torque in the class from its base engine, a design that reminds you of the larger F-150, and an interior with a massive 12" touch screen and near best-in-class towing capability. We are also finally getting the #RangerRaptor and we will post a separate video on it on 3/21 at 6am EST.

Happy Tuesday guys! We will have our full review on the Ranger Raptor posting on 3/21 at 6am EST. We also wanted to mention a slight error during the walk around, this new Ranger is actually 2" wider than the previous generation, the Raptor version is 3" wider than this truck so that is where we got the 5" number from, but it only applies to the Raptor version. Stay tuned for video #2 to post at 9am EST today on the redesigned Hyundai Santa Fe!
I really appreciate that you left the specs up for so long. It actually gives me enough time to digest the specs without having to pause the video. Other channels leave them up for like .2 seconds. So frustrating!
I've watched a lot of truck reviews. I really like how you talk fast and distinctively. You provide a lot of info without dragging out the time. Great job. Thanks!
Ford should include 4WD Auto on this trim level, especially at this price
What a ridiculous price. $52k should be F-150 money. Alas those days are long gone…
Best car is PINTO
And that’s not even the 2.7 or Raptor…
F-150 is like 85k plus now…
@@JP-xq7foikr, get real
Yes we’ll all know this by now. You don’t have to keep bringing up the same thing over and over again. This is where we are, it isn’t 2005 anymore. There’s never gonna be another 20k pickup.
The price is criminal
52k man, jesus I just got my first truck a 15 f150 with 50k for like 26,000 last year and I think I only got a ok deal.
Good luck finding a midsize truck upper trim under 50K anywhere. You could get an XL for cheaper. New Tacos are pushing 60K TRD off road.
@@danielrn133 I just wouldn’t pick this, the Tacoma or the gmc, the amount of money and can’t even get a sun roof is wild
@@danielrn133 Frontier
too bad all the phonie white collar goobers are causing the truck prices to go up as well. All these idiots buying these overpriced sht boxes have ruined it. Dealerships dont even sell real work trucks anymore
Wouldn’t pay a penny over 35k for the absolute top trim.
This thing should start at like 27500
Lemme get what Ford's smokin 😂
Think they're smoking what Toyota is smoking and liked the high 😂
@@marklihsuat least with the Toyota you get features, this truck is missing a bunch of stuff the Canyon, Colorado and Tacoma offer
@@alwaysiyi272like?
@@theqrogy stuff like ventilated seats, sunroof, power running boards, powered tailgate, etc. not saying everyone’s needs those things but at this price point it would’ve been nice to have it
@@alwaysiyi272hurr durr I need a sunroof and ventilated seats for muh fucking offroad pickup. Buy an SUV bro.
Sofyan pumping these videos out. Love it 😍
Just trying to bring you guys the content you expect from us :)
In South Africa we have this new Ranger, and an Everest 7 seater SUV built on this platform. They're very impressive, although we run diesel engines rather than petrol.
SO much better over the outgoing model! Can't wait for the Raptor version!
$52 grand for a Ranger ROFL
Lariat Ranger or an XL F150
Neither lol!
Cheaper than the $54k TRD off-road Tacoma 😂
@marklihsu but resale of Tacoma is much better... and we all know Ford products won't age well.
@@marklihsuit’ll be 60k on the lots
the short bed only is a deal breaker….I love the ford parlance of "we’ve simplified it for our customers" sma they continue to eliminate choices and raise prices.
awesome review. solid information delivery. i like that the truck is not over-designed like some of the competitors. looking forward to off-road capabilities testing. thanks guys!
I’m starting to like this truck more, the more I see it.
Hey Sofyan thanks a lot for this video) very informative)))
This is the exact one i ordered...east Tennessee...thx for the review
I see a $35,000 truck nothing more. These prices will kill the auto industry. You need to make $100,000 a year to afford a truck!
Thanks for the review of a nice little truck Sofyan. So much choice in the marketplace now in mid size trucks. It's fun comparing and buying what you like; we're sure lucky here in NA having all these choices.
I’m glad I’m not a pickup truck guy, over $50k for a ranger? The more I make money the less I’m willing to spend it on anything that’s new. This thing looks like it was built to be $35k at most.
For that kinda money you can keep it!!!
I just bought this truck 2 days ago and love it. I got the hot pepper red. I don't care about the sunroof. I'm very sensitive to the sun, had a sunroof in my explorer, but never used it.
I chose the ranger lariat because i wanted the advanced towing package without being a house payment .
Sorry guys. I have a 2000 Ranger extended cab with a 6 foot bed. Runs great. As a camper shell on it. Gets the same mileage as this one. I don’t need a 4 door truck with a 4 foot bed. And, at these prices, I won’t buy a new truck until an extended cab comes back. That’s why you see a bunch of old Rangers in Ca and the Pacific NW.
Good for you? lol
Great looking! Great review!
I think it looks very good with this color/trim combination
Solid, comprehensive overview. I think we will be waiting a couple of years, but this truck is the top of our list. I hope they bring the PHEV that will be offered in other markets to NA.
People complaining about the price clearly haven’t gone new car shopping recently.
This has been going on since COVID 😂😂so yes folks complain because it’s rape what these dealers are doing
Yes, but it's everything not just vehicles
It is a poor business model to create products for only 10% of the market, and all the makers are losing money but refuse to change course.
Luv the outtakes
@06:44 “Tacoma is the only one that offers four full-sized doors with a 6 ft. bed.” Perhaps I’m mistaken, but this appears to be an incorrect statement.
You had me looking up whether or not the Frontier can be purchased as a Crew Cab with a 6ft. bed. Sure looks to me like you can.
Will a 4x8 sheet of plywood fit in between the wheel wells in the Tacoma?
Hey Ford your killing it… with that high price!
The fact that adaptive radar cruise control is STILL an option on the Ranger when it has been STANDARD on every single Tacoma (including the 4 cyl. SR work trucks) since 2018 is absolutely fucking insane.
So stick with your taco then bud.
@@ZACH_95_ I don't drive a Tacoma. I'm just making an objective statement about Ford's cost-cutting measures & how far behind the competition they are in many respects.
There's no reason for profanity it's not that serious either option it or don't who cares
How do you people live without it! It is INSANE. I mean...people somehow survived for years without a dampened tailgate. I mean...HOW? It is INSANE. Maybe your mommy can rub your belly and tell you it will be ok?
@@danielrn133 Relax. Nobody is hurting you.
Great review!
Personally, I don't need a sunroof. However, I would like to see a HUD and a digital rearview mirror on the Lariat edition.
I love the design it looks great.
Ford Ranger nailed it . Great truck and it is American Made.
Great truck but way over priced
Ford is still behind the eight ball when it comes to the mid-size truck segment. This model should have a higher ground clearance.
Why, it's a Lariat at 9", seems like enough, can always put larger tires on. Raptor is higher.
Can’t believe that they didn’t offer a sunroof standard with that trim level. It’s even more surprising that it’s not even offered as a option.
Ford should offer more interior colors, like Grey or dark grey...! A front upper bumper with LARIAT name similar to the RAPTOR...a sunroof option too.! Overall looks good. Can't wait to see what the 2025 model will be.
Millcreek Canyon Road! I’ve stopped at that gate many times.
$52,630?? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Thats absurd.
Have you actually seen new car prices nowadays buddy 😂they are not cheap anymore
The sweet spot is the XLT at about 46k.
Don't buy new cars. Problem solved.
they really killed it with the steering wheel. that switch gear screams ford edge. They should have given it a more agressive/squared off appearance like the f150-250 even the tacoma has a nice chunky and rugged looking wheel. this feels like a crossover
This summer the 2.7 ecoboost V6 is supposed to be available. Do you know does the towing go up from what the 2.3 ecoboost is rated at? Please do another video when the 2.7 is available.
I might wait for the 2.7L V6 version Lariat. Was looking at RRaptors but, Damn!! 20k added markups in So Cal. FML!
I think for the same money I would rather have the more capable Colorado ZR2 or even the Canyon AT4.
Another great review! It needs a sunroof option...
Sold! Getting the XLT with the 2.7 ecoboost. Already better than what Toyota and Chevy are offering with their 4 banger turbos.
Yup v6 sold me I’m putting an order as soon as it’s available
Congrats bro.
Still leaning towards the 2024 Ridgeline top trim Blackout edition at only $48k
$52k for a mid-sized truck is a joke
I never open my sunroof in Florida
I bet you use the door locks though.
Really like the Ford lariat FX four wish it had a sunroof. I am also looking at the taco.
It would be neat if they made a PowerBoost version of this. Couldn't care less about a sunroof.
No sunroof at this price point will be a dealbreaker.
Less concerned with the sunroof, wish it had cooled seats…
It seems like every manufacturer now has an extra charge for the paint color. You want a dull white, that's a $800 option, lol.
My next vehicle 😍
Here comes the new recall champ
Nice truck! Great review! Ford should’ve never exited this segment and now has a long way back…
I'm in the market for a new midsize truck. I like the new Ranger, but lack of a sunroof option could tilt in favor of Colorado or Taco. I don't understand the reasoning, F-150 and Maverick both have a sunroof option.
I wish it had the 4A mode :-(
Ikr only with raptor it’s available. Make no sense like why not have it on lower trims as well included in package.
Dope!!!! This is the size that's more on par with the F150. Watch then all these haters that aren't construction workers see this on the road. Worth every penny
If they kept code orange for raptor I’d buy it right now, now I can’t decide tacoma or ranger
No cool seat is a miss on Ford. They have it in so many of their vehicles so why not the Ranger. Not a fan of the portrait screen but from the video it looks like its a good size. Bring back the cool seat Ford!!!
I like the external appearance a lot. Not a fan of the large, portrait-oriented screen, and I wish they offered a 6 ft bed, but it's a compelling truck in terms of towing/bed capacity.
Thanks for the great review adding in my prior comment below…..I believe the overseas Ranger gets rear seat AC vents …as soon as a sweating and whining 2 year old sits back there they will hopefully add those for the US Version
In 2024 incandescent lights shouldn’t be a thing. Much less at 50K+
I know. Also no rear parking sensors or rear view camera should be criminal. I see all the time big vans with damage to the rear. They absolutely must have rear sensors or camera.
Sitting here, twiddling my thumbs waiting for the 2.7 V6. They say I don't need it for towing - but torque is 100 more from the straight 4. New Tacoma, new 6g 4Runner is now out and I have choices, choices, choices.
I don’t care about sunroof, but what about roof racks option? Will be roof rack ready or not? I won’t buy another Ranger if Isn’t ready for that upgrade.
Nice truck
Good review 👍
I was hoping to trade my Maverick up to the Ranger but interest rates to high.
Cheers from Ontario, Canada
That paint color is sweet!
Love the look, not a fan of no moon/sun roof! That is a deal breaker for me. And if the moon room would have no opten tilt option, that would be a no for me also. Love the look over all though. Great reviews love your videos btw :)
I believe this isn't an all-new frame, but rather just an updated version of the previous model's frame
Still pretty big of course in my country at least
Nice, like it a lot. That said, to me it looks very much like a dolled-up Mavereik.
I like it, although I think the dash looks a little weird with it being so small
Im glad they updated the front of the truck. Previous generations had a honda appearance that looked wimpy
This feels 20% / $10k over-priced. So much plastic, no sunroof, last-gen infotainment, not good gas mileage, and tight(ish) back seats. The Canyon Denali blows the Ranger Lariat out of the water for the same price.
Too bad the two gm twins are junk. So many issues with them. I’d take plastic interior and older infotainment screen than unreliable junk. Yikes
I’ve sat in both the new ranger and the gmc canyon Denali at the Cleveland auto show. Ranger felt better inside in both space and somewhat feel too.
Agreed
All vehicle prices are too high rn
Automakers are missing out on a ton of sales until they eat that 15-20% price cut
should be 30k max
My last Ford Ranger, 2001 XLT was $16k new, adjusted for inflation would be just over $30k today. This being over $50k is just not justified. I would just grab a lease return F-150 for about the same money.
So huge
No sunroof option is a dealbreaker. Also previous gen had rear LED turn signals…
Compared to a Tacoma limited, the Taco offers way more features for the same amount of money, ventilated seats, power running boards, powered tailgate, a sunroof, standard adaptive cruise. Even the Canton offers more features. I do like the powertrain options but I don’t think that’s enough on its own
Ranger has more space in bed and backseat also more payload, 4 auto, and towing on a already proven engine
This thing looks as big as a early 00s F150
My dad has a 03 f150 and a 20 ranger, and you can put the ranger inside the f150.
It is the same size, I had a 97 F150 extra cab 6’ bed…basically the same length AND even though I had a V8, this little turbo 4 has the same torque and horsepower rating.
It's roughly about the same size.as the 00.
Ford's pricing structure for this vehicle doesn't make a whole lot of sense, especially when looking at this configuration and comparing it to the Ranger Raptor, which is only a few thousand dollars more. The amount of additional power, suspension, and tech in that vehicle is mind boggling. From the bumper, to the tires, everything in the Raptor is way more expensive, beefier, and premium, so when comparing the two, I have a really hard time justifying the Lariat's price.
What's Up with No Shark Fin Antenna 📡??! 😡 I Love the Dual Glovebox 😊❤.
I see this new Ranger is not flat towable! Did Ford say anything about that changing in the future? Rangers are often towed behind motorhomes
7:00 woah, are my eyes deceiving me or am I seeing a pickup in North America from a US manufacturer with proper rear separate amber turn signals?!
Found On Road Dead 😮 hahaha 🤣. My 1997 Dodge has a locking differential. 382,650 KMs
Redline and The Straight Pipes posted on the same day?? Didn't expect that but Great to start on a Tuesday!!
I greatly prefer not having a sunroof. My last three vehicles have had suroofs as standard. I rarely open the sunroof and usually keep the cover closed to reduce road noise. I've had sunroof drains clog, resulting in water running down the A-pillar and causing electrical problems. I would much prefer the reduced cost and reduced chance of maintenance problems by not having a sunroof.
I placed my order little while ago , thinking I’m going to cancel it and keep my 22 .
Yep. Not without a bigger gas tank. I'd feel like same vehicle with that same 2023 18 gallon gas tank. I am ALWAYS a quarter down.
$53K ?
I miss my $19K loaded Ranger
How would Ford know if there's demand for a sunroof but not know there's demand for these prices to come down 50% haha
Need to add sunroof option. It’s a deal breaker for me
Lack of 4H Auto is a deal breaker for me. Would like rear air vents and flat floor on the rear. Other nice things would be heads up display, under body camera, and front lockers with the off road package. I don't mind paying this premium but I do expect a bit more.
I had a moon roof once in a fx4 f150. And after it started to leaking an never closing correctly. I have no interest in having one ever again
2024 Ford Ranger Lariat Sport FX4 OFF-ROAD Package Crew Cab 4X4!
$52k gets you a well equipped GMC Acadia, which is a superior vehicle in every category except for towing capacity, and even then it still tows 5000lbs. How insane. That’s a $40k truck
The Ridgeline will run forever though. What am I missing here, this is ~280hp FOUR cylinder that only gets 19mpg?
Sofyan I’m surprised you didn’t tell us when the ranger is going to start heading to dealership?
Cause they are already at dealerships.
Top of the line model should come with a sunroof
