    Great video. I bought my boat from Bucklers Hard too - I did see Stowaway up on the hard with a few other neglected boats and did think it was a shame she was sat there unused so it is good to see her brought back to life. I hope you get lots of enjoyment from her.

    Well done, I love it.
    Its a bit of a project boat but who doesnt love a project boat?
    I see many fun filled adventures ahead and already starting to wonder where a boat like that might take you?
    Boat projects and good sailing is win win if you ask me 😊

    Nic 32 - excellent choice of boat. Your priority jobs look spot on 👍Having taken ownership of my new boat 4 weeks ago, there was so much of this video which made me laugh in empathy😂 (whilst I sit out another gale on my maiden trip back to Anglesey from Poole)

    What a fine seaboat and with some more elbow grease when you have a gap in sailing trips she will polish up beautifully. Nice fitting of the wind vane on such short notice. Looking forward to seeing more seatime on board with you in future trips. Good solid investment for happy cruising! SkipRay, Kerry.👍

    Great choice of boat Sam. Nearly completed on one some 25 years ago that was on the Isle of Murter in Croatia. She was one of the last built and a real beauty. Sad reality was that I would not get the time from work to use her. Real regret, should have just brought her back to the UK. Will be watching your further adventures with a little envy.

    How many sanding disks dd you get through in the six hours? I suspect I prolong jobs by not changing the abrasive often enough.

    Great video and a great, great yacht. I had a Mk III Nicholson 32, had her from 2010 when I left the Royal Marines, to 2018 and we went from Portsmouth, all the way around to the med, out to the Canaries, Caribbean, Venezuelan coast (which was pretty hairy) and to and through the Panama Canal, across the Pacific, taking in the Galapagos and South Sea islands, finishing in Australia, where I sold her and flew back to the UK. Without a doubt, the best years of my life. I'm now living in the med with the wife aboard my floating home, which is a Westerly Oceanlord.
    Are you intending to take Stowaway right around at some point? Now I've found you channel, I'll be following with much interest mate.
    Fair winds buddy

      Wow thats some trip. The boat is currently undergoing a mini revamp, i've got a list of upgrades i'd like to do to make things more self sufficient for offgrid cruising. Solar, fridge, cooker etc. I bought the boat for ocean passages and thats the plan however I've got quite a bit of work to do first. Thanks for watching.

  • @JohnCornellier

    A good one to have after a H22, so similar hull, can see from the end bit she sails well. They have a reputation for being light on the helm. You will feel safe in her, I've had a few long keel boats, H22, MG30, Halmatic 30, Invicta 26 (two of them). Maybe consider removing the paint and restoring the gelcoat.

    • @samsails9820
      @samsails9820  6 месяцев назад +1

      That's an impressive fleet, your yard fees must be horrendous! :) I nearly went for a Halcyon 27, another great boat. Bringing back the gelcoat would be fantastic.

    • @mjcooke2sailingmostly
      @mjcooke2sailingmostly 6 месяцев назад

      @@samsails9820 They're all past boats, I forgot about my Halcyon 27, I had one about15 years ago, she was sailed to Majorca by her present owner. (Corycia on RUclips). I do still have a Rival long time owned but tend to buy different types now, I am a collector and yard fees are a killer.

    Does that area around the rudder heel not need some glass?

    • @samsails9820
      @samsails9820  6 месяцев назад

      If I was using polyester resin glass would have been used but West systems epoxy is extremely strong, in this application i've mixed a high strength bonding agent to further strengthen the area. Any larger and biaxial cloth would have been used.
