Yes. This is how Tom is running the setup in the video. DI out for the audio recording and speaker out to the cab. You can also do it with the Ironheart Loudpedal.
D Minor = D,F,A Major 9 is an E note but the reason it’s called major 9 is because major 9 chords have the major 7th in them = C#,E That’s the chord so D,F,A,C#,E. Those are the notes in order and Tom is actually playing it as a rootless chord so he’s not playing the D in the bass, and he’s also got the A as his top note in the chord, his voicing is F,A,C#,E,A. Also functions like an Augmented sound

It breaks up about the same as Vox or Fender amp does.
Tom can even make that garbage SS box sound good!
