    Love this series! I have about 4 sounds, generally... A squeaky clean chorused 80s clean, a roaring Marshall-esque crunch (like a JCM800 loud enough to make your liver quiver LOL), a doomy fuzz tone, ala 'Master of Reality' era Sabbath, and a modern chugga-chugga tube screamer+Rectifier metal tone.

    Great choices!! I'm running the Pugilist & MXR Echoplex myself, as well as the Fender Tre-Verb last in the chain. Get my compression from T-Rex or Keeley tho :)
    Pugilist is maybe the most underrated, value-for-money dirt pedal ever. It even does the Jimi "Cranked Marshall" thing, not just high-gain

    These are nice pedal boards.
    My general "go jam or top 40 gig rig small pedal board is pretty simple:
    Boss Tuner > Tchula > Echoplexi > Rotoverb and out to a Hotrod Deluxe or other small combo.
    I keep a MXR octavio, a Hoof fuzz and Crybaby in my gig bag to add in front of the pedalboard, just in case.

    Don, what are the settings you said you like on the XP Compressor?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  4 года назад +1

      I use the Xotic SP Compressor in the "Low" setting on the 3-way switch. I normally keep the Blend and Volume in the 1:00 - 1:30 range. For me, that's a slight volume boost and some of the unaffected signal still present. There are internal dip switches for Attack/Release Time, High Cut Filter, and Input Pad. I set those when I bought it, and I frankly don't remember if I ended up with anything outside of the stock settings. If anything, possibly a change in the Attack/Release times because I prefer a quicker attack.
      The Xotic owner's manual shines some light on the internal dip switches:
      xotic.us/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/SP_Compressor_manual.pdf
      And for more info on the Xotic SP Compressor pedal:
