After months of use i would say the matebook e is just way better in terms of pen technology (especially in conceprs and Photoshop) and just great convenience. The display is great for illustration.
Huawei’s has voice input and real time translate (from device output sound or input sound) function, which really helpful for those non-native English users.
Nice review Teoh, how much brighter is the MateBook E? it says something about an HBM mode of 600 nits?? were you able to test that? I really like the size of this better than the sp8. I would want this size as a companion to my surface laptop studio, the surface go is too small, too slow, and not bright enough.
My colour calibrator doesn't work with OLED displays so I can't measure the actual brightness. But usually I would discount 20% off the advertised brightness. 600 nits probably is around 480 nits.
I was surprised by the diagonal test of the M Pencil. I was expecting more jitter. The surface pro 8 is still the better choice, but I was expecting Huawei to be a lot worse.
I actually have the Matebook e e and it has been perfect. I use it for productivity purposes and that is more for office use and entertainment. That in mind it is perfect.
OLED has more vibrant colours and better contrast. But the LCD on the SP8 still looks good. The display quality in for these two tablets should not be deciding factor in which to get.
@@teohontech7141 I don't think so. Lack of OLED is the main reason I won't buy Surface Pro 9. Even if I use windows tablets for Art and note taking, I also use it for waching media and OLED is far superior. I don't want to spend a bunch of money in a LCD device which will be pretty outdated after 6 months. I'm not saying Surface Pro are bad devices but Microsoft is not putting that much effort in term of innovation. Take a look at new Surface Laptop 5 and then compare it to Asus Zenbook 13 OLED, Acer swift 3 OLED (I mean bezels and display cause all laptops from great brands will have a kinda similar performance if they have same chip and config).
How is linux today on the matebook e? Looking to buy one but need the pen and touch support but all info is in chinese. Also which distro would you recomend for this?
Should have put AMD processor, seriously making tablet with Intel processors is such idiotic move. Arm or at worse case AMD other than that totally pointless devices

was the pen in your order or did you have to buy it extra?

And has android support (including phone files & screen async like Apple devices) while Surface has nothing as an pad.
Great review

How does Windows handle the rounded corners of the MateBook when moving the mouse cursor to it?
Cursor goes into the "covered" space
☹️
I wonder what real advantage do 16 gigs make over 8 gigs even if the CPU is held back in this Huawei...
Hi, can MateBook E handle the blender and programming with the i3? I mean applications and 2D games.
Of course thats i3 11th gen
U need to buy i7 12th one🤩
Can you please make a review for samsung galaxy book flex2 alpha 2-in-1
Why doe the screen looks so much bigger on the surface Pro 8? Aren't they both like almost the same on paper?
SP8 aspect ratio is 3:2 and MateBook E is 16:10. SP8 is 13-inch vs 12.6-inch. Two things that make it look bigger.

We need display comparison..

@@Loki-oq1ov yes but surface has 120hz and matebook e 60hz.....
@@hackertomobile I'd rather pick a 60Hz OLED over a 120Hz though. These devices aren't for gaming so 60Hz is fine for everyday basis.
@@Loki-oq1ov yes friend, but 120hz helps to animation windows, browsing, pen, and more everyday use and give the sense of speed
Matebook E has a more advance screen, but linux 5.1x can't run perfrectly on it. So I won't buy it now.
What do you mean by Linux can't run perfectly with this device?
@@xionveil7054 Drivers are not good enough in kernel 5.1x. But it seems fixed in 6.1+

the matebook in the lower end config is wayy cheaper though.
