I had the exact same biases towards Q2, but I was absolutely blown away by the image quality of the Q2 Monochrome. Now I switched to a classic Q2 and completely happy with it. As for the price, think of a 'standard' Sony A7IV and add a few descent prime lenses and you're more-less in the same price category.
I went from an X100F, to an X100V, to a Leica Q. The biggest thing that annoys me with the Q is how there are no markings on the exposure compensation dial. I like how on the Fuji system you can set the exposure compensation with the camera turned OFF! Why, Leica? Why can't we do this on the Q/Q2??
It’s a multifunctional dial set by holding FN and choosing what the dial operates, hence the lack of markings. But I agree, I’d rather it be ex.comp as that’s what I use it for!

Nice shots. Personally I'm still waiting for the Q3 with a 35F2 lens or even a 50F2. 28mm is not my focal length. And the whole "you can crop to 35mm" is not the same compression. Disclaimer: I have not heard anything from Leica about the Q3 - but keep hope alive! Oh, one more thing - love the Analog Vibes preset pack.

I think my phone also has a 28mm eq. focal length. Perhaps I should just go for a walk with my phone in order to teach my brain the same lesson you learned. ;-)

Thank you! It really depends on the lighting, having some nice light hit the cars makes a big difference. And I edited them with my preset pack, that's where the colors come from :) But it also depends on the exposure I would say, I overexposed most of these shots in lightroom to give that clean look

Yeah you really can't beat the location 🤯 It's definitely not everybody's cup of tea and I don't think I could use it as my only camera, but it managed to surprise me
The point wasn't that the Leica Q Photos were better than the A7RII photos or the other way around, the point was that I have thousands of photos taken of cars in the 50mm-85mm range, and it was a creative challenge using a wide lens which I normally never use for this type of photography.
I am not a big fan of prime lenses, although I have a lot of them, Canon FD lenses the most. But a good zoomlens is so much nicer. If you want to make portraits, oké use a 80mm on a fullframe. But no, I never got so enthousiast as you got with the prime lens. But I like to see it, I am a follower now. (I have nothing with Leica, I like Canon, Fuji and the old Sigma Merrills) The Sigma Merrills also have primelens on the camera, but I own three of them. So I still can chose a little.
