After the Oldest Viltrumite in the Empire, Conquest, ends the life of Atom Eve right infront of Mark, our hero goes BERSERK as he and Conquest rush into eachother and Mark’s first CRASHES right through Conquests Golden arm actually impressing the beast, but Mark says no matter how much you enjoyed that, i’m going to enjoy this more. Conquest isn’t buying it as he grabs onto Mark, but Mark bites him in his shoulder and rips a chunk out of it as Conquests looks confused, and we see him start to worry for the first time that he may have created a monster. As Mark starts to get the better of Conquest he actually slams him into the ground and starts to pummel him with both of his arms, to the point where one of his arms completely breaks as we see Mark’s eyes full of hate while he screams DIE to conquest letting out all of the rage that he’s been building up this entire time. Conquest told Mark that just because he’s enraged that wouldn’t suddenly make Mark stronger than him, but what Conquest doesn’t understand at this moment is the power of Mark’s biology, as Humans and Viltrumites might be the most perfect match in the Universe, since Mark’s humanity gives him access to something that no Viltrumite has, and that would be adrenaline. When Mark is like this, he’s in an adrenaline rush which should let him push past his limits, but as he continues to bash down on conquest, behind him, Eve’s body begins to glow.

That’s actually a really cool and reasonable way to explain why his human DNA is important. Conquest was probably confused as shit when he said being mad doesn’t make you stronger while Mark was actually getting stronger from the adrenaline rush

Humans are also depicted in media most often as having more intense and volatile emotions compared to other species, which is probably why the human x saiyan hybrids in DB can access super saiyan and its evolved forms earlier in life and easier in general. This was sort of less explored later on, but was definetely the case with Gohan and the early parts of the show.
His Human genetic, made him be filled with emotions that caused his power to spike (Or diminish). And when he got angry, it was bye bye to the oppossing side.
It's interesting that they took a different approach with this in Invincible. It's not the emotions that cause this spike in strengh, but the simple biological response of Adrenaline.
Fun fact: people who do strength training are able to access more of their strength, so Viltrumites who have centuries of training most likely wouldn't get any stronger from adrenaline and they might fight worse because due to being blinded by rage. Since Mark is so young he hasn't pushed near his limits, rage makes him a lot stronger, when he gets older he might be able to access all of his strength without adrenaline, or losing his rage boost because his viltrumite dna has taken over.
@@DaniTheHero Anger is directly related the production of adrenaline, so it’s kind of the same both ways because since Gohan has human in him it wouldn’t be unreasonable to say he has adrenaline too. The real difference is that the actual strength comes from the adrenaline in Invincible and in DB the main power spike comes from the emotions themselves. That could be what you meant tho maybe i just misunderstood

Viltrumites don't have adrenaline? That's very interesting, actually. And seems like a good, sound way of explaining the "power of humanity" in a sound and logical way, while still keeping emotions like care, compassion and love central to the point
Viltrumites don't fight eachother which means they barely find beings equal to them or that can even tickle them so they have very little to worry about hence why they never feel fear or adrenaline.
Makes sense too, we evolved adrenaline to cope with dangerous situations. Viltrumites are the dangerous situation so they’d have no need for adrenaline.

The thing that makes us human is also present in most animals on Earth.
Holy shit, adrenaline explains EVERYTHING. Because Earth's Mamals are comparatively weak and very energy hungry, we need to ration out our energy storage for when we really need it. Thus, our brain's abimity to literally pump us full of pain-dulling, strength enhancing combat stims!

Humans have a limiter placed on our bodies by our brain telling us how much muscle we can use without sustaining damage, which is at most 50% of your overall strength, adrenaline removes that limit and that's all it really does
Adrenaline has helped people push over cars that were crushing someone and meant that our ancestors could keep running cause that leopard ain't gonna stop running so once you tucker it out you can run it back and bam free meal and pelt once you get a big rock

Honestly the “indomitable human spirit” was getting to be a old circle jerk but this just refreshes it in a take that humans are so emotionally driven that REAL hate, passion or desperation in a situation can drive them to new heights thanks to the real world adrenaline rush. Beings like Viltrumite don’t have it due to their stoic nature but with a human hybrid, it’s a complete power boost in bad situations
Now I see why Viltrumites are so calm even while destroying planets. Nolan against Thraxans, Lucan and the others while beating Allen before his power buff, Anissa beating Mark, or Kregg handling over Nolan's duty to Mark - they always acted like it was a day to day job.

Considering that humans can only access roughly 60% of our muscles true strength we can estimate that a viltrimite is limited to this as well and is why they don’t shatter their arms with a single punch and such so if mark’s adrenaline rush disabled the biological muscle inhibitors he would be a force to be feared it’s like having two gorillas fighting each other but one is given a lifetime amount of testosterone and steroids

@@x_sama5560evolution often works like an ability exhange. You don't usually gain new traits you usually exhange them. For example gaining lungs but losing the ability to breathe underwater. It's possible they had adrenal glands that were exchanged for one of the other traits viltrumites have. That or they just never evolved adrenal glands due to them being apex predators since day one.

Oh, that's true! Viltrumites don't have adrenaline generation because they had close to none predators in their homeplanet, they didn't needed to have it. But humans have fought against all the predators of the world, even when being weaker than every single one of them, which made them develop a way to break their limits, adrenaline. Mark has the power of a viltrumite and the unbreakable willpower of a human. It's the best of the Predator that has always been and the Prey that became the Predator.

it actually makes sense that viltrumites don’t have adrenaline. Since they are a warrior race, combat is probably their default state. even if they had adrenaline, it was either: disadvantageous since they would lose their ability to think logically and waste a ton of energy on one fight out of many; or vestigial/neutral, since viltrumites are so used to brutal combat a sufficient stimulus for them to have a fight or flight reaction probably doesn’t even exist.
If they are in a perpetual fight or fight state, adrenaline could be a waste of energy and maybe a cause of some disease. Adrenaline lets us use extra energy that we have stored when we have to fight of flight. So, yeah, that would make an angry Mark a much more powerful since he is using extra energy, something that Viltrumites wouldn't be able to do. Mark could literally get beyond his 100% as a viltrumite.
Adrenaline in real life is actually one hell of a drug. It seriously can feel like a superpower

No. The human body has a limit on how fast and strong a person is so that you won’t damage anything vital when overexerting yourself. It’s why there are stories of mothers being able to flip over cars to save their children. Humans are actually twice as strong when the brain recognizes that your life is in danger. Viltrumites have evolved to always be at the absolute peak of their power at all times.
