Eve: Having the worst traumatic experience of her life
Meanwhile Mark: DUCT TAPE MAN
Truly they were made for each other.
Oh don’t worry. His extreme mind altering trauma comes later.
Oh Duct Tape Man's about to have a traumatic experience too. Removing his costume.
@@EccentricGentelmanbrooo😭🤣
Rex Splode: got sold by his parents to be experimented on and used as an assassin
You'd think, considering how he thought he almost lost her as a newborn, her dad would appreciate her more.
He thought he’d lost her. All and everyday after that his subconscious made him more protective. In order to protect you must control.
@@skaetur1 I was thinking more about how he called her weird instead of gifted and the other emotional abuse.
@@EccentricGentelmanWhile definitely emotional abuse, It's also definitely coming from a place of fear, For her safety as well as others.
@@nicklewis470 This is before he knew she had powers. How is his treatment of her coming from fear for her life?
Right??
People forget that a birthday is meant to celebrate and cherish continued life of a loved one. The moment you look at it as an obligation, you don't deserve them.
I think he’s made it abundantly clear her whole life she’s only an obligation and nothing more
Well said
as you said

I always knew Eve's dad is a total jerk, but this episode made me a little more sympathetic towards her mom.
He's not an arsehole, he does love and care for her, but he's wrong in dominating her life
@@hansgruber788 You make good point. Adam's right to worry about his daughter's safety, but he's wrong about trying to force her into being someone she's not.
In case you didn't know Adam is the name of Eve's father.
Good intentions do not excuse his words and actions. Not even close.
love me a parent who isn't emotionally mature enough to be a good one
Her dad ate the first piece of her birthday cake, and somehow he gets to tell her "How Dare She?"
Right?!
Eve has every reason to be a villain. Rejected by her friends and family, and had her life stolen by scientists. Yet she remained good. What an amazing character.
She had the character arc defining why she was good. Many of her other family died trying to achieve the power she had. She stayed good, so then their legacy can live in a good name.
All of that combined shows why she does this. great character
I agree. Poor girl
She grew up pretty well adjusted considering all of this trauma compacted into her at such a young age, omg. This is beyond super villain origins. She could rewrite the whole planet with that kind of power.
If I had her powers I would 100% remake the world because what we got now is hot garbage...
She had an uncle Ben in her life that taught with great power comes great fuckery
And thats why you don't deserve her powers.@@redfox4561
@@redfox4561well, as we've learned from Season 2 of Invincible, it's apparently not as simple as just doing it
Actually her powers was made for rewrite whole reality
Was anyone else expecting her to turn those two guys into some twisted abomination chimera? The fact that she just mind-wiped them a little speaks volumes about her character.
I was certain they were about to become some two-headed monster with bundled-up organs, so they could experience, for at least a few moments before massive system failure killed them, what Eve's siblings must have felt all their lives. LIke you said, incredible that she chose the most merciful option possible, leaving them without harm, only ensuring they won't continue to come after her or create more mutants.
She obliterates them in the comic I’m pretty sure. After, she realized she could have used that power to resurrect her family back to perfect health, including her siblings and brain dead mother.
She held that grief for the rest of her life. She blamed herself as if she murdered them herself. It’s sad as hell, but there was literally nothing she could have done.
Taking the cold hard facts out of it, she was just a young girl, who’s long lost family had been slaughtered in front of her in the span of a day, with said murderers jeering how they’re going to do even worse to her. That’s horrifying for anyone, let alone a young kid. The idea didn’t present itself because in the moment where her mind was it wasn’t possible (plus, her father had previously told her it was impossible)
@@NoriniaGood tweak to the character tbh.
@@Norinia Nope, in the comic she just wipes their memory.
More like it speaks of how mid the show is
4:45 Man the millions of emotions Omni-Man must go through right here
First he feels anger, angry that he's failed his viltrumite people by not producing a son capable of carrying his super abilities.
4:50 Then the way he transitions from anger to sadness, knowing that not only has he developed emotions and feelings for this family that only lives a speck of his life span , but now he has to choose between loving his family and fulfilling his duty.
Despite being an alien, dude's more human than he's willing to admit.
Facts.
I also think the anger was due to how after the idea that his son may never get powers, he also got angry cause the viltrums kill the weak, meaning for a short moment he was contemplating killing his whole family
@@TheGalekGames I was thinking that too when I saw this scene, he contemplated killing his family, then doubt himself, then couldn't believe he even entertained the thought. He loves his family and it's in denial with his duty.
It looks too prolongued and over-exposed. Literally on the center of the screen doing facial expressions. I would have kept it more subtle.
People say Nolan's plan if Mark didn't get powers was to wait for him and Debbie to die of old age before taking over Earth
She literaly has the power to change the universe into amything, her power is limitless, and the only thing she wants to do is help people, Superman would be so proud of her.
Yeah but she can't do it to sentient matter so she's quite limited. If she could she'd basically be Dr. Manhattan which would make her a little OP imo
Just wait until she meets Gwen from Ben 10.
@@magtinfal7908 she actually can she just chose not to or to be specific her mental blocks are what's stopping her from doing it.
Her powers are obvious not Limitless.. Crazy how you missed that
Assuming he didn't turn dictator yet
Knowing she has the power to literally undo death makes me sad because so many people died before she knew she could do that
she really can't do that to anyone except herself, and under very rare circumstances, life is more than molecules the more she messes with it the more the unexpected happens.
@@evanjohnson1299 im pretty sure she literally undid mark being torn in half
@@BeefNuggetStew Viltrimites have insanely high regeneration rates as long as mark wasn't killed he'd eventually be back at full strength(can't replace lost appendages though everything needs to be reattached first) what Eve did was essentially high end field dressing.
@@evanjohnson1299 she has an auto resurrection ability when she dies her body and anyone near her get's healed. and it happened more than once in the comics.
That's kind of a sad point in the same comic where we explore her origins. After she wiped the guys mind, her mental block took back control, and she realized, "All that power, I had all that power, and I could've used it to bring you guys back, but I was selfish, and I chose vengeance instead"
"like it or not, we're the only family you've got" OOF whoever wrote that in here BRAVA! That hits you right in the gut. I knew Sam's parents weren't the best, but the abuse that comes from them is very different than what you'd expect in most cases. They care, but they care in the way of trying to mold Sam, not letting her be herself
its also not so much abuse as a fact in his eyes they are the only family shes got and his not so abusive as protactive and controling and not appreciative which is fine.we all have our growth
@@celebrityedit13bro stop spamming the replies with this exact same comment
I wouldn't call THAT statement abuse, just the straight up truth, they didn't know what happened or how it would affect. I think anytime there is ANY KIND OF CONFLICT in a relationship, people jump too quickly to calling it "abuse". She doesn't have the greatest relationships with her parents but I think they just don't know how to be parents.
In fact they are so much like real parents, theres so genius writing there
Hell I'm surprised she *didn't* become a monster with parents like that.
Everything that went through Nolan's head in those 20 seconds :
-Life is great with my loving wife and my sweet boy
-Now that she says it, she might be right, he might never get his powers
-And if so, I should eliminate them. No need to bother raising a powerless child.
-But he might also get them, who knows ?
-Gosh, no, I have to wait. It's too early to decide.
-But at the same time, I don't want him to go through this. I don't want to either.
-My god, what was i about to do...
Nolan
I wasn't sure about that, but now that I think about it that's probably correct, especially "what was I about to do"
I like how her parents are not typical abusive parents how just hate their kid. They do care about eve but their form of care comes across from the wrong place and makes them feel abusive
Good thing mom’s love was clear at the end.
@@listenerjoyce1651 I mean, make no mistake that her mom loves her, but over time we've seen that with her being more open with her powers that the increasing intolerance from her dad and the enabling from her mom, the relationship is definitely going downhills. You can love someone and still do things that are abusive.
You can argue that they are likely still traumatized from her "near death". Which does help explain a lot of their behavior.
@@executionflux91 Eve's dad wants to control her because he felt like he had lost all control of his life when they believed she had died at birth.
@@executionflux91 It does. Doesn't change the fact that what they are doing now is basically not giving her the space to grow into who she is meant to be.
This episode really did a crazy good job to show how badass Atom Eve is and how shitty her youth was. This one episode made me like her a ton more than what season 1 did. And that highway battle, oh man. Super excited for season 2!
Really, I thought it was quite stupid, like in one episode she replaced her family with people she met for just a day and her parents were not that bad at all
@@ezravldina3467what are you talking about? the mom wasn’t that bad but her dad was awful once again
@@ezravldina3467 She didn't replace them, just an image of them lol. And I'm sure that was just for memories sake. I can't speak for adopted people but I would feel a good bit would at least be curious or like to know who their true family were. But then again the image swap is more likely to the idea of a "what if" concept for a perfect world for her, rather than her being where she is now with the step parents.
where you saw the full episode?
Was this in season 1?
Im not gonna lie that "did you eat my cake" part was funny as hell
"No! That's disgusting, I only eat your mom's cake! ...Oh wait, you meant the birthday cake...."
Negawatt
I dont think enough people actually appreciate just how powerful eve actually is. You'll see later in season 2 and 3 though.
Haha they'll see for sure
Comic spoilers:
She died somany times but she cameback
She has a lot of potential but doesn't utilize it often, also I don't get why she can't affect living tissue in her natural state.
@@tatoulino515 they say it in this special episode the reason
@probablynotsude spoiler as well
Also Nolan's words after the fight with Mark strike even harder knowing that at the end of the comics, after 1000 knowing what Mark has
After all that backstory she could’ve ended like a supervillain and yet she always tried to help people and make the world a better place, and not to compensate for her trauma but genuinely out of the goodness of her heart.
This re-contextualizes some of the advice she gave to Invincible in S1. Like "dating normal people is a mess". She hasn't had good relationships with normal people, not even her parents.
The moment of the fact that Dr. Brandyworth had placed a mental block limiter to her powers which prevents her from altering living tissue just shows exactly how OP she truly is. Comic readers know exactly cos y'all are not ready for what may come next. 🤯
jeah no sht, everything that is matter is made out of atoms, sure there is anti matter and something else, but thats not what makes us tick in particular. She could also just turn air into gold and the people would instantly die, she doesnt have to control living tissue, she is already op. If there is only this dimension and atoms are the very structure of everything then every being is fcked if she goes nuclear hahah
op not op, just write a good story.
Agreed, like we've all seen characters with plot armor but girl literally has plot chains. Like she could make every villain on the planet into a peace-loving hippie with a snap of her fingers. Robot's body is broken, Snap, he's fixed. Monster Girl is too young, Snap, now she's not only full grown but also a Viltramite so she doesn't even need to transform. Infact, Snap, now every hero on earth is a Viltramite.
She's insane in the comics
So glad Atom Eve is getting the respect she deserves. Can’t wait for her to become a mainstream character
Am amazed with this origin story,,it is full of character development and growth,,,the way they have depicted Eve is perfect. Thumbs up to the creator and writers
She deserves a spin-off maybe
It's all in comics
@@knuclear200x Please! No, thank you. I’m glad Atom Eve is part of the Invincible team.
So much for a child to handle…
Then the show becomes excellent when we see Omni Man feeling torn…His facial expression reveals whether he should kill or continue the charade. Conflict between his family and loyalty to his race.
As soon as I saw that glare of Omniman's rage, for the first time I felt as if he would break out of the screen and kill me. Magnificent work!
The fact they got Lance Reddick on this, makes it so much better. This was a great episode cant wait for season 2.

as someone who's read most of the source material, this show and it's second season are and will be an absolute banger
Honestly the one thing I'm looking forward to the most? Partial spoilers:
The breakup with Amber followed by her completely fading into the background. And, of course, the new relationship Mark moves on to.
People don't know how powerful Atom Eve really is.
She's in the top 5 most powerful humans ever in comics.

What's sad about Eve's parents is that they DO love her, but they don't like her
I think she's the actual 'invincible' hero in this series.
Together, Mark and Eve are immortal. Viltrimites age much slower and Eve’s is basically immortal and has the power to reverse death when surpassing her mental block. So if Mark is killed she can bring him back to life and it’ll take a long time for him to die of natural causes
Eh closer to immortal cuz her face was bloodied so she not invincible.

Just imagine how much emotional baggage would've been prevented if Sam's "parents" had just talked WITH HER(not at her).
Bro that part when she changed the family photo . I balled 😭😭
the things she liked were always wrong to her adoptive parents and that they forced her to do the things they wanted her to do instead.
To be honestly that was quite weak. I mean, they were not bad at all, like they were very supportive, like sending her to a special school because she liked it and was good in science and when she was dismissed obviously a parent would not be happy.
@ezravldina3467 Idk calling your daughter weird and a freak and basically never being there for her emotionally seems like bad parenting. A child can be wrong and a parent can be upset, but calling your child names and being harsh with them is never the right way to go. Eve's mom being understanding towards her at the end did more for their relationship than anything else that was done or said in this special episode.
@@ezravldina3467looks like u need to rewatch babe
@pxnkessence2213 what a reasonable argument, use ur own advice and try to understand from both parties and not just on the child point of view
@@someabnormaltitan5596 Honestly, what her father said to her was bad, and her mother directly told him he was off limits after she ran away.
But she also said that. She said that her classmates were freaks.
She gets somehow a pass, because she's a teenager, while her father is an adult, but both used that derogative term.
4:10 bold of them to spoil the comics most op villain of the series, duct tape man 😔

How can someone be the worst parent ever in a universe Omni-Man exists😭?
Man eve deserves so much better
No
I find it truly inspiring that despite all the horrors Mark and Eve have experienced and the roles the people around them tried to force them to fulfill they still managed to create their own happiness together and became so much more than what everyone wanted them to be.
All of the innocents that die in this series... and Adam lives to literally hurt everyone around him.
He deserves all of their deaths magnified a thousand times over.
I feel mark's delayed powers is a sign of his human strength.
For anyone looking for the song, it's "Gordi - Aeroplane Bathroom"
Fucking thankyou I've been looking for this
I like all the designs of her biological family in the portrait she remade with her powers. What could have been . . .
Well at least it shows how invincible it is not only with tragic family
She was extremely merciful here she could have removed all the bones from there bodies she could have replaced their skin with acid she could have done any number of things to them literally anything
A real parent would be happy that their missing child has gotten home and physically not inured. And the he ate of her cake speaks volumes of what a rotten person he is, Marceline and “why did you eat my fries” eat your heart out
eves dad is wild for eating the cake
If you think he's wild now, wait until later. It gets so much worst.

internal conflict. perfection.
Atom Eve reminds me of an anodite, Gwen Tennyson, specifically. lol
That’s so sad that she remade her broken siblings into regular people. The family they could have been.
Her dad is just ughhh. He ate her own cake and hurt her feelings because he’s a total bully. She’s emotionally and mentally traumatized by having her bio family die on her own birthday! At least the mom got to give her a hug and comfort her at the end.
Took all the words right out of my mouth.
@@Mariyah0511 He needs to think about his words before he speaks because he doesn’t even though he cares and the mom is just sitting there.
The best episode I have seen in a while , I cried I laughed I was angry , those fight scenes were amazing ! Claps to everyone yo worked on this you all are EXTRAMLY talented
God bless Brandyworth for placing that limiter on her. Anyone who pissed her off would be turned to jelly 😂
If she has that much power over even the molecular makeup of people, she should be able to heal any wound and literally bring people back from the dead, by simply reconstructing their bodies in a healthy state.
She does, except when she was created they put an inhibitor on her powers so she can’t use them on animals or people except in times when she is able to override it.
Given the fact they actually went through the mental breakdown of actual losing their child in birth, you would think the family might appreciate her more
They don’t know Eve isn’t their child.
@@saljpal3 exactly. They think their daughter came back to life, and instead of acknowledging the miracle that happened, her dad calls her a freak and her mother is, with rescprst, as useful as furniture 9 out of 10 times
In this moment she was able to remove her limiter, she can operate on both living/non-living things. For example; she was able to revive a near-dead cut-in-half Invincible!
I really wish comic readers would stop commenting stuff that happens in the comic, I just ordered the comics myself to read and it would be nice not to read spoilers while I'm hyper fixated on this series rn
Eve is a true hero even without powers she tries to do the right thing. Guys when is season 2 releasing????
4:46 when you dont get pictures of spider man 4:50 but dinners almost ready
She went super Saiyan lowkey and I love it

This entire episode was good. Start to finish.
So emotional & raw

I'm NOT Fan of Super Hero Series But Love Invencible and The Boys animated Antology series as Well
I am not a fan of super hero stuff either. The reason we like these though is because they are fairly realistic, and in the case of The Boys (animated and live action) is because they are VERY real and VERY visceral, and show the gruesome and horrific/dystopian reality of super humans.
Why is the whole family wearing shoes inside! Drives me up the wall!

Poor girl😢😢😢 If only her adoptive parents knew what she went through but her father was cruel to her😢😢I cried in this scene where she lost the only being that created her and saved her when her mother died and the worst thing is that on her birthday her adoptive father still has the nerve to speak aggressively to her 😢😢😢

Thats ALOT of power, the only reason we havent seen her do more has to be for the fact that they need to get better with time,, otherwize she would just absolutely destroy everything because obviously why not right?🙃
The end was very painful to watch.
Because it was so good.
You could see that omni had that thought. That he would end it all right there, his family was not worth it if mark didn’t get powers.
But then that thought was interrupted but his humanity, then absolute shame. He felt such shame for himself for even having a thought like that.
