You don't hear it in this video.. but Rex's "oh sh*t" when realizing what happened to the "last" last hope against Omni man was the most genuine line he had the entire season..
Rex is... smart when he tries to be. Hes just so arrogant that he doesnt think he needs to put thought into stuff.
Smuggling in beer? Omniman turning omnicidal? Big brain starts getting used.
He’s exactly what the new Guardians need. A vet with experience who knows what it takes to be a hero, instead of just some idiot with superpowers beating up criminals.
They got two: The Immortal and Sampson
Not exactly. He's a drill sergeant who mixes with Rex Splode and Monster Girl's personalities about as well as oil and water. He's great to have as a veteran presence, but you'd need to build around him with people who are more willing to listen to what he has to say and will push back less against how he says it.

Not on Icons power level. But if he’s anything like his comic counterpart, he’s going to be the heart of the guardians and the show.
That's incredibly generous considering black samson does very little in the comics aside from in 1 or 2 fights.

To be fair Rex the OG guardians were ambushed and taken by surprise. Had they seen Omniman coming in advance they could’ve killed him. They almost did. Shows how tough they were that Omniman needed to ambush them.
A great change from the comics imo.
In the in alternate reality when mark warned them they actually beat omni man

@@rubberwoody But also in that case not everyone was present, they only came in later and fish guy didn't even arrive there until Omniman was beaten. Undoubtedly Mark was insanely valuable though, as he has better chances at redirecting Omniman's blows due to his viltrumite durablity, and at the same time every time Omniman focused on him no lives were in danger as he would never hit Mark hard enough for him to die, while every blow against the guardians was with killing intent.
Omni man let himself get injured by them. Hes so fast and strong that he easily couldve taken them all out without a scratch but it wouldve been much more believable if he was hurt first
Black samson knows how to be a hero a real true hero fights both the villain and to keep ppl alive it’s extremely hard and not everyone can do it or even wants to its wat seperates a hero from an antihero
I like that some hero’s do not want to harm their villains to bc they believe in redemption but more so believe one day they will stop and feel bad for what they did and in turn will inspire everyone to want to change bc if the worlds evilest villain has remorse for their crimes just imagine how a petty robber would feel? Or a hardened gangster. More of the wicked would want to repent.

I liked the development between Rex and Samson. Rex was reckless and empathetic and he and Samson where always butting heads, but after their fight against Metal head and Battle beast where Rex realized how dangerous hero work was and Samson's injurie they became closer and acted more like a family then angry coworkers. The last scene proves it where Rex was taking initiative to clean the stain and Samson allowed him.

It must be reassuring for the Immortal to have atleast one original member of the guardians still be around.
Black Samson might not have the most impressive nor flashiest powers, but he’s got heart, the fundamental core of what makes a superhero.
This is another example of how good this show is. There is SO MUCH going on this show, and ALL of it is compelling, with good characterization, voice acting, and plots, save for the Amber stuff but that's still just one character. Its exactly what I want from a high stakes action show like this.

I recently noticed Samson's suit has the best weapon for fighting Viltrumites: sound weaponry.

No because Eve can't use her powers on organic matter unless extreme trauma "unlocks" those powers mentally. That happened when she and Mark got bashed in/ripped apart a few times in the comics
No because her powers are quite situational (Emotional trauma etc affects them) and around the time when Omniman was their enemy, she was never capable of those abilities

1. He probably didn’t think he was worth the effort
2. Ever since the guardians fight he was under a microscope. It would’ve been too risky.
He killed anyone who was a possible threat to the Viltrumite invasion, who were the Guardians of the Globe, but Sampson was just a man in a suit. Not really much of a threat to a Viltrumite, even a tough or weak one.

Samson really spent a lot of time coming around to Rudy/Robot that it feels more sad when he’s ultimately killed by Robot during his takeover. Samson just saw his friend and leader, while Robot simply saw him as a threat and the biggest threat at that.
