Hi, many thanks for this video as I wanted to make my own leads due to cost on the amount I loose. Can you give me a bit more detail on the burner and pan you are using as I have a similar gas stove but I can not melt the lead. Not sure if the burner is not producing enough heat or if I have the wrong type of pan (think it is aluminium). Appreciate any advice / info you can give ? Cheers Bob

I'm using an old stainless pan make sure the winds not blowing the flame that can take a lot of heat away. It could be the burner especially if the gas cylinder is low they are not the hottest stoves. It does take a while to melt from cold. To speed up the melt you can use a blow lamp. Once melted keep some lead in the pot when melting more it will melt quicker.

I used a weight like this which I had attached a large hook off the west coast of Kauai. Water was 2000 feet deep but I was fishing at about 200 feet. Hooked onto something I could not move. I thought it might be on the cable which held the marker buoy. A friend said no you cannot hook the buoy. A week later another fisherman hooked and landed an 800 pound marlin! 🎣🥴
