+Jonathan Po It was such a shock to me because when I watched that interview of her and Robert Osbourne from last year, she looked to be doing just fine, but unfortunately the time of her passing on came too soon.
+Jonathan Po - She was the most beautiful woman ever-- my mother looked like her. amazing.. What a lovely beautiful person and Irish too. What is interesting I love Ireland and hope some day to visit Ireland some day.
My roommate met her once at an Acapulco restaurant - she was with her grandson. Maureen was so kind and funny! She ended up paying the bill for my roommate, her fiancee and his parents - she was a wonderful, beautiful woman! One of a kind!
So much respect for this lady. She never did the casting couch, she refused to pose for scantily-clad photos and wouldn’t even have photos of her in a bathing suit. She didn’t have affairs, sleep around, never smoked and didn’t even want to be in a film that required her to look as though she was drinking alcohol.
@@ClassicTVMan1981X In fact Maureen appeared nine times on TV-movies or TV-episodes from 1960 ("Mrs Miniver") to 2000 ("The Last Dance"). Her three last TV-movies are available on DVD...
My favorite movies of Miss O'hara are, "McClintock", "The Parent Trap" & "Spencer's Mountain". I wish she & the Duke had made more movies together. They had great chemistry! Maureen O'Hara had CLASS!!!!
YES!!! Maureen O'Hara was a "one of a kind" during her lifetime, and no one will ever come close to the very, very "humanness' she portrayed in all of her work. Indeed, she did have a quality very rare these days, especially. BRAVA, Maureen!! Thanks YT!!
I met her in person. She appeared so young in every way and beautiful. She was in NYC for the 50th Anniversary of Miracle so that was 1997. It was in the lobby of the Marqui Hotel and she came to me and started to talk to me as if she knew me. It was strange but I’ll never forget it.
I loved, and agree with, the kind words Maureen said regarding John Candy: he was a fine actor and would have proven it given a few more years of life. Very telling that he said to her at his 40th birthday he realised he had not many years left. Bobby Darin also knew he wouldn’t live long. Great interview and thank you for posting.
My God, I've watched so many interviews on T.V. and RUclips but none of them come close to this one. What a lovely woman, and 80 years old (yes 80). I don't think I would ever tire from listening to her stories. RIP Maureen.
I’m 69 years old. I saw The Quiet Man way back in the 1960’s and I’ve loved her ever since. I’ve seen as many of her films as I can and my favorites are The Quiet Man and The Long Grey Line. Classic films, great casts, wonderful acting.
Same thing for me. She became my favorite actress when I was 14, watching her in "The Quiet Man" in its 1954 release in Paris. I'm 82 now - and Maureen still is my favorite. I also loved "The Long Grey Line" and saw it several times in theaters.
Top of the pole no one like her . She had the beauty the toughness the class the spunk the spirit in other words THIS LADY had it all . Even at this age shes terrific
It's true that Northern Irish people sound very similar to Americans. This is a great interview. She comes across as a lovely person and considering she was 80 years old in this interview, was ravishing.
Coskun Toktamis yep I'd be likely to agree. with you. I am English you know, and I can hear similarities between the Cornish accent and the Northern American accent too!
Maureen O'Hara was a great actress in all her movies and yes she was irish just like me, she did her movies in the usa but I moved to Canada to live and work< and it was great here> R.I.P Maureen O'Hara.
I remember watching her and John Wayne when I was a kid and loved both of them. I noticed someone commented and said she was 80 here. She really does look no more than 50 something. What a beautiful woman and so likable.
A true legend🙏🍀💜 A wonderful, beautiful, strong, lovely, kind actress ..She made Ireland proud🍀Could listen to her for hours.. So humble, and down to earth. She made it to 95 not far off 102💖🙏
An incredible woman and actor. She should be the standard that those who followed her should aspire to be like. Many today can not hold a candle to her.
Well, she was tough at 95. But, she left the physical victoriously. After all, she got an Honorary Oscar, and not every actress of her generation could say that, outside of Myrna Loy.
She was a very dignified lady of the old school and I don't think she ever said anything really bad about anyone in an interview. Her husband was a pilot who was killed in an plane crash in the 1960's and strangely she never remarried. She lived quietly in a small Irish village about forty miles from where I live and she appeared now and then opening festivals and things like that. Irish people are not generally star struck and virtually anyone can walk along the street without being bothered. Even the late Leonard Cohen was able to walk alone through the streets of Dublin when he was appearing in a series of concerts here a few yeas ago....this was despite the huge publicity he was getting at the time. When MRS O Hara was in her late eighties she had a falling out with her longtime carers in Ireland and she spent her last few years in America.
Maureen is beautiful, and that is wonderful. But, great acting is an entirely different thing. And, she also gave us that. We may never see the likes of her ever again. The "Academy" took way to long to honor her. Shame on them.
If this interview was done in 2000, Maureen O'Hara was 80 years old and her daughter not at all in her forties but 56 indeed. Wonder why Mrs. O'Hara gave her daughters age wrong.
Celisar1 Women lie about their age, ALWAYS. Having a child reach middle age, makes you a fossil. While Maureen O'Hara's age is well known, she them lies about her daughters age. You are always dated by your kids.
Bobby Paluga Your last statement is right. Impossible to look young and sexy when your children need a walking frame. But of course most women *don't* lie about their age. Why are men so full of negative prejudices about women?! Sometimes I think they are afraid of them and therefore feel the need to belittle women.
So interesting. I never detected her Irish accent. She is a delight to watch. And she certainly captures and expresses the warmth I experienced when visiting Ireland, years ago, on an extended trip.🇮🇪❤☘️
She had such great luck in life, which she worked very hard to attain. The sad thing is; I feel bad that she lost her husband Blair. She should have got some more time with him, right to the end. ☘️☘️☘️
It's so hard to believe that she was 80. She really doesn't look it at all. She always looks so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) In just two days, she'll be 95!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, many Mexicans were actors and actresses in Hollywood since the 1930's and so on. Like Antony Queen, Lupe Velez, Dolores Del Rio, Katy Jurado, Ramon Navarro, Pedro Armendariz, Lupita Tovar, etc, etc.
Maureen is 80 in this clip and as lucid as when she was in her 20s, I absolutely love her she was born the same year as my dad, the great Charles Laughton certainly saw something in her all those years ago and sent her on the road to stardom and like myself a fiery redhead although mine is grey now I hope her daughter is well and as happy as her mum was
She was 80 years old on the interview and still very beautiful.
I'll say she was!!
