When a house has a garage in the floor plan, I pretend that they've decided to "convert" the garage into additional house room like an exercise room or a craft room. After all, in real life people do that!
I don’t know anyone who’s converted their garage, because when you sell the house wouldn’t that be hard? There’d be a weird bedroom and no garage.

My bedroom is a converted garage. It gets really cold, but with a cat to cuddle and a space heater it's all good.

I usually keep the garage but put some skill building/hobby things in there. A Woodworking table. Maybe that new fizzing station. I imagine it's where they go when they want to work on a project.
Here's an idea: go into Google maps and type in a random address and try to recreate whatever building/ house it is.

The TV room being off of the laundry room, with it being a renovated garage, actually feels EXTREMELY realistic to me.

What about a build challenge where you have a set amount of time (3-5mins) to "shop" for furniture/lights. Then, you have to build the shell and furnish the house with what you picked out, not being able to go back to purchase other items and needing to use everything you pulled out.
Further Info:
*Choose your time constraint based on the size of shell you intend to make. 3min for a relatively small house, 4min for a normally sized one, 5 for anything above. You CANNOT change the decided size of house after the shopping phase has ended, regardless of how much furniture you lack of have in excess.
*During the shopping phase, you can select anything from the build/buy catalogue. If you want more than one of an item, you need to duplicate/pull out as many as you want.
*Swatches are finalized when the time runs out
*If you want a higher difficulty, windows/doors can also be selected during the shopping stage
*After the time is up, take as long as you want to build the shell, add wallpaper/flooring, and furnish it using ALL the items you picked out in the shopping stage
*Landscape is separately timed (1min), but you cannot arrange it until time is up.
Hopefully this all leads to an interesting build~

This is kind of ironic because, at least stereotypically, because people who grew up with the Sims are millennials. And millennials have a stereotypically difficult time buying a house. So the Sims is the next best thing. 🙈
I am a millennial and just bought a house this year, in my 30s. But I would wholeheartedly agree that I lived out my home dreams in the Sims.

I once found a house I like on Zillow but I’m never going to but it cause the price is so much, but every once in a while I get emails from Zillow about my house! It’s so cool and funny to see how much the price changes and to see when it’s on the market and not.
My garages always end up as laundry rooms + extra storage for things like work tables, easels, and clutter items to give the family personality. Some have huge bags of pet food, others have camping gear, one had an old toddler bed and a bassinet.

It's so satisfying when the outside chimney matches the fireplace inside! The whole house looks so cozy! Also, I once did a cinema room in sims4 with a bunch of cozy 2 seat couches and single couches.

Actually love this build! Looks so good! The idea of 'staging' a Sims home is so funny too.
Nice build. I usually keep the garages in the plan and just repurpose them to a family play room. Don't Wake the Llama table, the puppet show, maybe a set of speakers and a small dance floor and a couple of rocking chairs. They often wind up the room my Sims go to the most.

I like recreating floor plans on the sims 4 as well, as well as expanding upon them, especially split levels, raised ranches and colonials from the 1950s and 1960s, you can find these pretty much anywhere.

When I build a real life house on Sims with a garage, I use it as a rec room! So usually lots of skill building items that never seem to have a good place inside.

I've seen a lot of upstairs master baths have a massive window over the tub, especially if there is an incredible view. From ground level, you can't really see through upstairs windows very well anyway. The angle protects the modesty a bit.
