i am impressed how good kayla recently got when it comes to exteriors of the houses. she's definitely branching out and it helps her creative process a ton
You have to try fattening up the rooms by like at least 25% of their actual size. Maxis seems to do this on their builds, the shotgun houses in Willow Creek are massive compared to real ones.
I learned a trick recently from Sydney Macoretta: if you go into the second floor with the stairs and press control, you can place them on the floor underneath while being in the second floor so you can see where they place and it's a lot easier!!!! Saved my life
i would've used a sliding glass door to the backyard instead. Imagine opening that while you watch tv and the breeze justs basically puts you to sleep. A DREAM
We have some of the cutest brick houses in St. Louis. We call them gingerbread houses. I've tried to build them in the sims, but the cute stone decorative elements don't exist in the Sims and it's always disappointing.
one thing, i used to play the sims 4 a load in 2019 and i’ve been getting back into it now and i’m confused on why everyone hates it/complains about it lol (please don’t judge my grammar)
haven't even watched the vid yet, but i totally do this. there's a house across the street from me that's for sale, so i went on its Zillow listing... looked at all the photos...and recreated that house as best as i could in TS4. hope the owners don't find that weird. oh well, they want too much for their house.
Okay I know the house is super cute but can we take a moment to appreciate how adorable Simsie looks in that shirt. Like she always looks so pretty and that shirt is so fun.
your process for gathering inspo/referance for builds has actually helped me with drawing houses!! used to be such a slog but now i actually like drawing them and give them more personality too
hi simsie! i simply wanted you to know that you’re deeply loved and that we appreciate you and your hard work so much!! take care bestie, sending tons of love ❤️❤️❤️
The brick houses are one of the reasons I love being back in STL. This makes me finally want to break down and begin my house hunt. That could be miiiine and in University City.
lol AND she has to start on a 64x64 lot! On the one hand, it allows her to make it massive but maybe she would be less inclined to go tiny from the start so it may end up unexpectedly modest by most Simmer's standards. It would be fun to see the final result either way!
The build videos are my favorite! It’s always so interesting to see how other people lay out a floorplan, picks colors, and furnish their builds :) Keep em comin!
Have you ever checked out McMansion Hell? I've been going through the blog archive and I love her takes on the "wealth doesn't buy taste" horror showcases.
I live in Southern Arizona and since most of the dirt here is clay, most houses are brick. What I don't think people from other places (namely places that don't have a lot of brick houses) realize is the creativity or the brick masons. The brick walls are patterned and textured differently making them like pieces of art.
i love how she keeps mentioning that she's bad with trying out new things, but she's doing such a good job! if anything, i'm learning new ways to decorate
I haven't been watching simsie for very long, but whenever she puts herself outside of her comfort zone and does something she normally wouldn't (like the kitchen or the landscaping) and ends up liking it and becoming more confident, i always find myself grinning stupidly. It so great to see someone (anyone!) trying something new and it's super encouraging as well!
I don’t like dormers, but this house looks great. Very cute and I love the kitchen. Edit: forgot to mention the curvy stones around the flowers in front looks great!
realistically it doesn't make sense to me to give the bigger rooms to older children/teens. Because children that really play with toys need the space instead of teens that actually need nothing more than a laptop and book shelf for their Entertainment. That's why I changed my big room with my little sisters tiny one when I was a teen and she was like 5.
Okay I have a pack idea. A golfing game pack. You can build your own golf course and make business deals while golfing. It could even come up with a part time job as golf caddy, and more business type careers that are freelancer types
A lot of homes that have two kids bedrooms of unequal size will have the kids share the same bedroom in the bigger room with a bunk bed, and use the smaller room as a playroom for the toys! Super cute to decorate each room, helps the kids to have a separation of play/sleep spaces, and just makes sense!
I love how she's trying to match the car to the front door, it makes me imagine her going out to buy a car with a picture of her front door to make sure they match. Or even better just bringing the door with her
If you go to the towns website of the houses you look at, check out the property card/town assessors section. Type in the address of the home and it will usually come up with a sheet showing the owner and a diagram of the house (some are more detailed than others). This way you can lnow the dimensions of the rooms/outside walls :)
Recreating real houses is one of my favorite things to do in sims. I’ve done it with a few friends’ houses, I’m gonna do it with my current house, I did it with my cousins, I did the apartment from New Girl, etc.
Lilsimsie always does this thing where she picks the cutest swatches (in my opinion) and then she gets embarrassed and changes everything. and I'm always like NoooOOOOooo but that dark blue swatch was so pretty. 😦
Where I live, almost all houses, old and new, are red brick or sometimes different versions of brick. I think my tiny village used to have three separate brick factories back in the day and now still has a big one because in the past, clay and raw materials used to be harvested here. I don't know where they get those now, though
Come to Pensacola in the panhandle to fulfil your brick house needs! We have a good amount of them! But I totally get what you mean about the stucco homes. When we were looking for houses in Orlando and that area, that's pretty much all we came across, besides double wides on 15 acres of land.
green is seriously kayla's color, this shirt always looks so good on her. the build is also so cool and you can tell she's come very far in terms of building skill. tldr shes Awesome
I’m from St. Louis & when you showed the condo i knew exactly what building you were talking about, all the houses/condos on that street look like that
Kayla, I heard that when cats do what Snappy does (in her case, mess with your hands when filming videos and other things like sit on your keyboard or mess with your mouse), they are trying to copy you in a way. My aunts cat was doing that to her and then my aunt bought her her own little computer and the messing with the keyboards and hands stopped. Don’t know if any one that makes sense, but whatever
Kayla: I want to live in a brick house, but we don’t have many in Florida Me: lol you can move to Michigan, but it’s snows 8 months of the year, so you would suffer…never mind
The blue tile looks like granite, which is a natural hard stone and pretty expensive, especially in a more rare color. The same goes for the floor, which looks like red marble to me. It seems they just bought the most expensive materials they could find. As for the trim, we need an autotrim function that you can turn off and place the different variations yourself.
i always think the prices of houses are so interesting. i live in southern illinois, and real estate isnt super expensive here (i live in a 3 bed, 2 bath house and it was 90k). like the price of the house irl is so much more expensive than it would be here
i am impressed how good kayla recently got when it comes to exteriors of the houses. she's definitely branching out and it helps her creative process a ton
I agree!! I would really like to see her decorate a family backyard with the slip n’ slide too😌
The thing about recreating real life houses for me is that the amount of space inside will Never be what you're imagining it to be 💀
Half tiles would be amazing
Yes! I tried to recreate my childhood home and it did not turn out well at all.
Yes especially with an upstairs and roof slopes
Build it off the floor plan instead

Find some CC!!
YES! i drive by so many cute brick houses in STL when going to my uni in southern Missouri, i wish i could recreate them 😔
When you get to south city, all of the houses get so much cuter! I'm pretty much in love with every house that's off of Grand Blvd!!!!
hello stl fam!!
Ive grown up here my whole live and going away for college has taught me this isnt normal
“I think they were trying to make it smarter, but they ended up just making it worse” - a summary of the entire Sims 4 game
Pretty much 😂
one thing, i used to play the sims 4 a load in 2019 and i’ve been getting back into it now and i’m confused on why everyone hates it/complains about it lol
(please don’t judge my grammar)
hey now, give credit where credit is due. They are finally getting better. You all just want to have something to complain about 😂
@@Reborn_Enthusist yeah it only took them 7 years lol.
@@Dhips.
I’ve only played the sims freeplay before the sims 4, I have nothing to complain about because I never had anything better- 🏃🏾♀️
I’m not gonna lie I love when she recreates real life houses x
Ikr they always turn out so good.
me too the videos are always so good and the builds are awesome

lmaoo that last line is so funny
Video idea: Recreate the first god awful condo, it’s definitely nothing you’ve built before
And she has to keep those bathrooms exactly as they are. We'd all die inside but it'd be different!!!
That's what I was hoping was going to happen!!
I can’t truly express how much I wanted to cry when I saw that first irl house. Like seriously i feel traumatized.
omg literally same i’ve never hated a bathroom more than that one
@@terribleeyesshining it just made me sad 😔 😂
Just sobbing about that god-awful flooring
@@tallulahbrown5864 like seriously 😭
That entire house is offensive. Kayla should drop the link so we can all judge it.
from the thumbnail i can tell the build’s going to be better than the real house
Of course it will be It’s a Lilsimsie build
YOU SAID IT!!! She absolutely amazing!
I'm honestly surprised she said she likes this house (the real one) because to me, it's hideous
@@DogNamedWatson yh the real house was um… unfortunate-looking
In the Sims 3, I would make a basement and put the cars in there, because they didn't need road access to function
That's the kind of chaos the Sims is meant to have.
I'm so glad you pointed out the bidet because I genuinely thought it was two toilets facing eachother. 😅
Okay I know the house is super cute but can we take a moment to appreciate how adorable Simsie looks in that shirt. Like she always looks so pretty and that shirt is so fun.
your process for gathering inspo/referance for builds has actually helped me with drawing houses!! used to be such a slog but now i actually like drawing them and give them more personality too
Seeing Snap makes me cry every time. She looks like a twin of my cat who recently passed. She was also really clingy
hi simsie! i simply wanted you to know that you’re deeply loved and that we appreciate you and your hard work so much!! take care bestie, sending tons of love ❤️❤️❤️
you’re glowing lately! you seem so much more confident in yourself recently. you’re so beautiful.
The brick houses are one of the reasons I love being back in STL. This makes me finally want to break down and begin my house hunt. That could be miiiine and in University City.
I feel like every mansion I’ve looked at is so gaudy. The more expensive the house the worst the interior.
nouveau riche houses are all about showing off how much money the owners have so they’re all tacky beyond compare
And they all look hollow and unable to function as a house. Like they're so formal that it feels like a museum.
Real life house builds? MY FAVES
same! i love seeing her build in real time and seeing how a real-life build translates to the sims 4
Same
Challenge idea: every time lilsimsie wants to make the build smaller, she has to make it bigger.
lol AND she has to start on a 64x64 lot! On the one hand, it allows her to make it massive but maybe she would be less inclined to go tiny from the start so it may end up unexpectedly modest by most Simmer's standards.
It would be fun to see the final result either way!
Although you may make a lot of little brick houses we love each and every one of them! So please never stop!
The build videos are my favorite! It’s always so interesting to see how other people lay out a floorplan, picks colors, and furnish their builds :) Keep em comin!

Omg I’ve been waiting for another video Ik you do one everyday but I just love Kayla content😁
i’m from stl and grew up in a red brick house. the style of homes in stl is my favorite thing of all time. they’re always so cozy
This reminds me of a local listing that was so weird that one of our yellow medias made an online article about it
Ahhhhh this is where I live!!! I know where both of those places are! STL houses have charm, glad you noticed Kayla!
I don’t like dormers, but this house looks great. Very cute and I love the kitchen. Edit: forgot to mention the curvy stones around the flowers in front looks great!

I live in one of those cute little St Louis brick homes. Haven't tried recreating it in the Sims yet Now I want a swing set for my yard.
omg I love her shirt today
yay lilsimsie upload! also, kayla, i love your shirt, you look great!
the little swirly-brick garden is so cute, and I wish they had a more time-efficient way to make them in-game :0
The stones she placed in the front were so cool, It's nice to see Kayla branching out more and being more creative!
you know you’re from saint louis when you’re 95% sure you know the building to the right of the listing
love your vids! it looks great
But what color did the livingroom end up being?!
I was beginning to think I blacked out while she painted it!
I was looking for this comment did she never paint the wall? 🤣
I checked the gallery! It's the light grey-brown swatch of the classic simsie wallpaper
It’s so cool to see you building from St. Louis!!! I live here and the architecture is some of my favorite!
Suggestion: When you do your Rick Astley cosplay, you should try to build his real life home in the Sims4. :)
The bathroom on the first house looks like ea made it😭💀

Don't you ever apologize for making building videos. More if making them makes you happy, we are here for it💖✨

that condo sold last yr (so did the house actually!!) and i’m shocked. its in a rich area of st louis which could explain being almost $3mil 🤣🤣
