challenge idea: make a house, do a floorplan like ususal (closed off for the most part) and then have a number generator decide what room is what. for example, you decide you want the living room to be in the front of the house, but then the number generator says its a bathroom, and you have to furnish it the way you would for a bathroom. like so kayla can see!

Imagine if we could customize everything in this game. Like if we could just move an ocean or a mountain, or just those freaking mailboxes that's beside the lot, and looks hella odd.

Speaking as someone who grew up in New England, hydrangea bushes are the standard outdoor decorative plant/flower you see with pretty much all houses near the coast, and they’re always that exact shade of blue. They just thrive in sandy coastal soil for some reason

There is a mod called organised debug I think it would help you find everything in debug easier
you should try building the ROM house with the stairway to nothing but tiny!!
the cats and dogs pack is so accurate to cape/MA living, everything is expensive, we love our pets, and the outside of our houses (cape specific) are so busy because the insane wind and sea salt air tears the hell out of our siding and shingles
I was remodeling Crick Cabana in Willow Creek yesterday and I noticed that the best advice to give when remodeling on a budget, is just to use the cheapest items. This includes, wallpaper and flooring along with all household objects. Then decide what you want to prioritize looks with. I tend to spend more simoleons in kitchens, living rooms, and bedrooms. The most being spent in the kitchen.

The way I play with builds that I’m going to play in is I build the house with everything you need but furniture and then move a sim in and “move” their furniture in

On my game of this lot, I added a badass basement for entertainment stuff, and a guest room with it's own bathroom, and of course another bathroom for anyone downstairs in the movie room or game room or craft room to use. Then I fixed the upstairs for more space, but left the bones of the first story level and just decorated it well. :)
I would love to see you make homes w/o a budget. Non-starter homes. I love seeing what people can do with 1 pack with unlimited money.
A fire has started near by when your in cas and when you scroll the the next family member they are on fire.
This house gives me nightmares, I moved here with like 10 cats and a dog.

Me...umm there’s literally some right there on the wall....ummm
i like using the kotatsu tables (sometimes within a lowered platform chunk if i have the cash left over) as a combination dining and living room. it saves money on chairs/tables/couches/end tables etc, and the walls and space needed for those rooms. just needs some more colours...

I did a remodel of that lot. Left it looking the same, just did things that made more sense with the interior.
I used this in my game and I got rid of the second bedroom and replaced it with a back patio. Saved some money and was super nice! I also was inspired by your recent pink cottage so I changed it to white walls and a pink roof. I love this build!
I tweaked this lot in my game and I really liked the result, it’s not too far off from the original. Some changes I made was switch the side of the stairs the wall was on, flip which room was the living room and dining room (because what house has the front door entering the dining room???), made a little computer desk nook behind the stairs, and made a second bathroom upstairs in the little front bump out.
Build idea!
Build a daycare, and then have a sim take care of a bunch of toddlers! I tried this and I wish you would too!
I’m definitely gonna use some of these tips. Putting up photos is a great idea for starter home wall art
OMG I hadn’t watched this video when I downloaded this house from the gallery, so my surprise when I realised I’m literally playing in this house right this second at the same time as watching her build it!

Been watching sims 4 youtubers for years but only recently got the game myself. This was actually the house I picked to live in since I doubt I can really build anything I like yet. I did do some renovations on the inside tho to make it more homely. The area behind the stairs and the back half of the living room is a good place to change into a kids or spare room

11:40 My sim actually found Mayor Whiskers just walking around the park, and I was horrified to find our he was a stray. I had my sim adopt him and he moved into a mansion with her where he had his own room. You know that giant mansion on the 64x64 lot? I had him live there with my sim. There is a room, I'm surr you know it, that is very large, but for some reason empty exept for a couple boxes. I put huge dangling chandeliers from the vampire pack, put a beautiful dresser with the cat plant and a mirror, put a fire place in, and put his cat bed in front of it. He is the sweetest cat ever. One of my favorite base game kitties.

I think you should try to make a home with a bigger (limited) budget like 50,000 simoleons, so after you played the game for awhile and you have some money saved up, you can move your growing family into a new home! (Can you make more lots like these with just base game and 1 pack? I love your builds, but don’t have a lot of packs)

You could take Various photos of various worlds, but them on the walls in a room and then save the room, so you can use those pictures again and again, whenever you need some

Challenge Idea: pick an iconic pre-existing sims family (the goths for example) and have them move into a different iconic pre-existing sims family home (like the landgraabs or someone else), and reno it to the new residents taste.
