Mauro Henrique travels to Oklahoma to help a homeowner paint her old front door without taking it off of the hinges.
When a homeowner wanted to give their home’s front door a makeover, paint expert Mauro Henrique knew just what to do. Rather than disturbing the 70-year-old door, he shows the homeowner how to paint it in place to give it a fresh new look that will pop against the home’s brick exterior.

Where to find it?
To protect the glass and door hardware, Mauro carefully covers the glass with sheeting [homedepot.sjv.io/NkJD7b] and adds painter’s tape [homedepot.sjv.io/1roGjD] over the hardware. To protect the surrounding area, Mauro lays out a drop cloth [homedepot.sjv.io/75Vrzd] onto the floor.
Mauro uses a small metal putty knife [homedepot.sjv.io/rQy35y] to fill in large cracks with wood filler [homedepot.sjv.io/DKmgPo]. After allowing the wood filler to fully dry, Mauro sands the entire door with 220 fine grit sandpaper [homedepot.sjv.io/Nkm047]. To remove dust particles, Mauro wipes the door with tack cloth [homedepot.sjv.io/GmkB79].
Mauro paints on the base tinted primer [homedepot.sjv.io/OrZQPr]. To paint the door, Mauro uses an exterior semi-gloss paint [homedepot.sjv.io/m5v3Qa]. Mauro applies two coats of paint with Nylon 2” angled [homedepot.sjv.io/g146aB] and 4” [homedepot.sjv.io/75VrZr] nylon brushes.

Looks nice. That's an easy door for criminals to gain access to your house though. Too much glass to smash.
Many people live in areas where that isn't a concern. This may shock you, but there are small towns in America where it is normal to sell homes that don't even have locks on their doors. Did you not notice that this door is about 60 years old?

Not related. I had solar put on my roof, just over my garage that is unfinished. I have a small leak where the lag bolts came into the rafters; how do i remedy this without pulling back the solar panel?
First mistake was drilling holes in your roof. Never drill holes in your roof as you now know. I would remove the fasteners to the panel and put silicon in the holes and some good roof sealant under the brackets and install fasteners and put the same roof sealant or silicon on the head of the sealant.
I wouldn't do anything, make the company that installed it fix the problem. It's not your fault they messed up, why should you have to fix it?
Remove the hardware. Takes less than 10 minutes

I know! I was thinking the same thing! Plus the paint will streak and not dry properly.

Sorry, but this looks hideous to me. The original door could've just been cleaned up and would've looked better than the paint job given here. All those intricate curves looks now like it has globs of paint applied by a kindergarten child.
That’s because it’s Mauro the hack at it again. They picked this guy up outside the local homedepot…
