We just finished our last camping trip of the season with two cats we recently adopted. We have a collapsible litter box and keep it in the shower when the shower is not needed.
I really love this trailer. I would move the toilet paper holder forward in front of the toilet so it is not at the elbow, definitely move the TV down, and get rid of the sky light in the bathroom. I do wish the shower was wider and they moved the outside kitchen to allow for it. They can put it in the kitchen space area since they have a great pantry and plenty of storage space. This is an AWESOME trailer and number one on my list!

Another rig that would make me consider buying a pickup truck. I like this a lot. The pantry with floor to ceiling storage for swiffers and stick vacs is very smart. Lots of great storage in bathroom and bedroom to with the CCC to use it.
On your question about the skylight in the show I think they should move the vent fan to that location keep the head room for NBA players and eliminates a hole in the roof
This one is near perfect! I like the skylight in the shower for lighting purposes. I also think the fireplace would seal the deal for a lot of us. My one suggestion is to make the hanging wardrobe go up higher to accommodate hanging clothing better. The small additional cubby that is above the hanging area in the wardrobes won’t be missed.
Somebody needs to let Ben Holdread know that the majority (not all, but the majority) of rv owners don't like a window over their bed. He has put these windows over the beds in all the Surveyor and RPod models under his direction. For me, and I know many other, it's an immediate deal breaker. Which sucks because there are a lot of Surveyor models that I really, really like (including this one) that would be a very real option if it wasn't for the window over the bed. This is the Coachman 252RBS (they didn't even change the numbers 😆) but with better kitchen counter space. I remember that rv with the theatre seats was one of Josh's babies. Surveyor did a nice job with the floor plan (minus the window over the bed 😁).
Yes. They did nail it. Top 3 favorite floor plan! Love the windows, everywhere i want them. Maybe some cabinets over the dinette. And upgrade the knee knocker posts. Keep the skylight, I need it. I hadn't thought about it, but might as well have the fireplace.
Nice rig! I like the way they did the pantry. And love the extra storage / closet space in the bathroom. I miss the nice coat closet he had in our old camper.
Love this. They did an awesome job with storage and kitchen layout. Would also like to see this with a floor plan with no slide, a bar type dinette and overhead storage on that wall. I wonder how it would be with the recliners. With the large pantry (waste basket space!), might even be able to get away with a drop-down bar/table and folding stools for 2. What do you think?
I like this one. That Surveyor color scheme throughout with that dark bedroom wall (as I have mentioned in other Surveyor reviews) is sharp....looks great! Thanks Josh
I think the fireplace would make it perfect, especially with all the other storage. No waste basket spot in the cabinets, but it looks like you could fit a full size kitchen garbage can between the entry door and where the router starts. We camp with (2) English Setters.
I have seen better dining tables without knee knockers. Put shelves in the upper and remove 1/2 under the sink for waste can. Could add a fold away counter next to the sink, need full drawers or fold up seats to access under dining benches. Yes electric fire place so I don't use up propane. Add a small pivot table to the door side of the theater seats. Yes always have skylight in shower especially as they forgot to add a back window. Bigger bedroom windows. Do like the layout and storage probably biggest knock is how small the bath sink is
This is DEFINITELY a winner for me! And I'm super picky!! I agree on a fireplace. I added one myself to my current RV, and we use it over the propane heat.
I was also thinking it'd be nice to have the sink over the outdoor fridge instead of squeezing it between the toilet and the shower. The shower is currently only 24 inches wide it'd be nice if it was 30 in wide. And moving the sink over would give more space around the toilet.
I’m digging this one!! Great countertop space! Love the bedroom setup! I agree with the need for fireplace and wish it had a bigger counter in bathroom.
Forest River is on fire 🔥 So many of their brands doing great things. HOWEVER... it's time for all RV manufacturers to start getting serious about plumbing and making consumers aware of what they're doing.
@donaldbailey5576 that's true. But in reality, all trailers are flimsy, and everything in them breaks easily. Camping is just something we love, and we're willing to spend money on it.
Fireplace under the tv, definitely and maybe drop the tv a few inches. Also, is it an optical illusion or is the awning sagging? Totally dig this floor plan, very well thought out.
We have owned the 2022 version of this camper for three camping seasons and LOVE IT. Floor plan works very well for us. Slight differences than ours, not sure if they are improvements or not. Nice review, Josh.
Thanks so much for all you do! We tent camp until we can afford a lovely model like the one you showed today; we are thinking of buying next year (I hope to be able to buy from a Bish's store!). We camp with our 2 dogs and when my daughter comes along she brings her bearded dragon, who loves to travel. He's a big hit at the beach!
Cool! It’s like the imagine 22 MLE. Love the living apace. Has some ok door side windows. The dinette is good. Can they put in a u dinette? The kitchen is good. Like how easy you can see the Tv. The bathroom is good. The bedroom is good. The out side kitchen is good. Like it. Thank you!
Whats odd is you look at some of the other northern dealerships they show the RV with a fireplace. Im in Texas and Forest River stated it does not come with one- but its in the videos and on some floor plans to have one??/ Go figure that one... I do have one on order but was told I will need to install my own fireplace and alter the cabinet, add electric to put it in.
While I really like my Coachmen 252rbs, especially after i fixed all the bad plumbing, this same floorplan in the Surveyor does almost everything better. Do wish the big window in the dinette opened. Thanks again Josh for another informative video!

Yes to the shower skylight. I've covered mine during freezing temps and the bathroom loses too much daylight. If the vent fan blades and hood were transparent, I'd consider nixing the skylight.
I thought I'd found my TT with the 2109s, and then you showed me this one! Longer than I thought I wanted, but maybe not. The GVW is easy to haul. The decor is okay. I would have preferred grey but brown works w the hardware color. Loveseat is great. Thanks for the power outlets and storage. Kitchen is nice. Refrig gas/electric or 12v? What kind of counter tops? Great storage. I am Five foot tall, and the spice rack is useless. The microwave requires a stepstool. Controls are nearly out of reach as well. I Like the "farm sink". Visually nice faucet. Would love pullout drawers under the dinette, but those can be added. Thanks for the central vac. TV is a bit high. Excellent pantry space, and thanks for the nets. Tootsie toaster would have been nice but not a deal breaker. No skylight in bath would be fine. Less leak potential. Massive storage in bath! No showermeiser? Love the bedroom. Storage and wardrobe galore. Plenty of power outlets. Fully enclosed storage ONLY! Excellent Road Mode! Magnet latches! Thanks for the mini outdoor. Wow what an awning! Bumper AND a hitch! 400 watts hooray cause its a start. Single sewer outlet makes it easier for me. The motion light is a nice little extra. What suspension and brand of tire? Not nearly enough tail/brake lights, but that seems to be standard. I'd like a standard ladder. One less thing to store and wrestle with at set up/break down. Overall, this one is a contender. BTW...I camp with corgis. It looks like there will be plenty of room for ZOOMIES!
I have 3 cats (two are special abled) and a medium sized dog. I've yet to find a trailer/rv that will work for me : ( I think if I could cut into the bathroom wall under the cabinets and get rid of the outside grill (which I'd never use anyway) it may work as a cat box room. Hrmm
Great RV review. Thank you nerd. Only changes I’d like to is No knocker table, heated tootsie toaster, splash guard behind and along the right side of stove top. Definitely a second AC as you know here in the Boise area and SW US it’s scorcher summers. Ladder included would be nice too. Overall definitely an RV that , I would consider.
Love that big window! I like off-side windows bc we don't park camp much. it's nice to have a patio space and views facing opposite directions when you are wilderness camping (and also avoid / follow in the sun at different times of the day). If I park camped more I'd want it all on the passenger side of the RV. Josh, at some point you gotta camp off-grid in the west and experience it. I think you'll love it more than you think you will :)
This is actually one of my favorite travel trailers in this size. I love the counter space in the kitchen and I love all the storage. People in the South would absolutely NEED the second AC (People in the North would probably say the electric fireplace). My biggest miss, which for me would be a must have, is the lack of an electric plug in the dinette area because this is the only place people working remotely could functionally sit and work (I could have missed locating it during the video).
I feel that if you put a fireplace below the TV. Move the television down some and then put overhead storage. Also, doesn’t Coachman make a similar floor plan?
Not bad at all, like pretty much everything. Keep the recessed ceiling in the shower, but get rid of the skylight. Really like the extra hanging in the bath. Your thing is wastebasket space, mine is pantries (like this one a lot) and countertops (material?).
This trailer looks real good but they're still stuck on a small gray water tank. Any good trailer will have a gray tank twice as big as the black tank. Just my opinion.
Would love a second AC and 50amp! Fireplace below tv would be nice as well! I completely agree that tv could be mounted lower. A tad too tight toilet area for someone like me is “husky” and needs more elbow room
I do like Surveyor floorplans, however on this model I really do not like the tiny passthrough door on the driver's side. Also, the bathroom layout seems clunky to me. If they could swap the sink and toilet locations, that could add some useable counter space I believe.
Looks like a awesome camper! For the bath, a slight redesign would allow a flip up or fold down shelf for additional temporary counter space. I think that would be a huge gain in an already great bathroom. The space is there for it.
After seeing the depth of that storage under the TV, I'd probably prefer the fireplace. But, it's not a deal breaker for me. I also agree, I wish the under sink area didn't have the shelves. That being said, looks like there's decent room next to the sink, by the door for a trash can, or, maybe even inside that pantry. Speaking of which, I love that the shelves are inset. If not trash, it's a great spot for brooms and other long items. All in all, it looks great! Oh, and no pets for me. 😀
We’ve looked at this unit many times. They really need to put the elec fireplace in lieu of the 3” deep cabinet under tv. It might be a great place to display watches 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks Nerd! I do not think the fireplace is worth the squeeze. The dining table big window is lovely! Love the light in the pantry, wish there was an outlet. No, I do not think the skylight is needed in the shower. Surprised the TV backer in the bedroom is on the outside wall and not the interior wall since that sliding door is not competing with the TV and there are only the upper cabinets above the theater seats on the other side of the wall. Outside speakers - lower is nicer if including them. Love the way the camp kitchen is set up.
One ladder away from👍👍👍and I love that Surveyor is one of only a few manufacturers that give you the “option” to ditch the Denny’s diner booth dinette for a sofa sleeper or theater seating and open up the living area for entertaining family or guests💥💥💥
We camp with our dog maybe once a year. She stays with our son most of the time. When we're gone. Now dancing around in your camper in your birthday suit at night with all the lights on 😂 are they shaking a pineapple too 😂 The last time we went camping it was last year we skipped this year we went hoteling. There was a camper that had three pineapples one as normal one on its side and one upside down. They were cut out of metal and hanging with chains on a metal u-shaped stand. My wife looked at it and started laughing she said look...I'm like what the heck does it mean other than what the pineapple truly means. Does anybody have an answer to this. I'm not into the pineapple and I don't think you should hang one out in front of your trailer. A state campground is no place for that.
Regarding your comment on the possibility of an electric fireplace replacing the storage, I vote no. We have a fireplace in our Cougar 5th wheel, but we have had an issue with one of the wires being too close to the coil for the heating element and being melted. Warranty replaced the fireplace, but only the same model. So we elect to use a space heater instead. I wonder about the safety of using these fireplaces as a heat source. Have you heard of others experiencing this issue?
I love the outdoor kitchen with the hot/cold sprayer right beside it so I can wash dishes outside. The storage in the bedroom is also fantastic - in fact, the storage throughout is great.
I use to travel with 5 special needs cats. Now I have one. My litter box is a large plastic storage box with the end cut out and it doubles as a side table by my chair. No dont need an electric fireplace I would rather have the storage even if minimal.
I don't understand why these manufacturers are still using the roof top ac units. Why dont they go to a mini split and install it in the duct work? Also wireless charging built into the arm rests on the theater seating would be great. Also for those of us with legs, a legless dinette is a plus. Also the stove top needs a side splash guard like the back has. Overall, not to bad. I'd look at it in person.
Really loke this layout. I'd be curious if they could have a table and chairs that can be turned so it functions as a desk option for the dinette? Make a good workstation since all the windows are there
Remove the slide add some of those swivel theatre seat tables and you would have the perfect no slide couples camper. And it would weigh a lot less to tow.
The drawers under the bed are such a good idea. You can get your socks even if your partner is still asleep. I hate the hokey sign over the sofa, but that’s easily changed.
Our cat allows us to camp with them :)
My wife and I like the floorplan, but we would love to see bigger gray and black tanks for dry camping. On the fireplace we would be willing to pay a little more for a fireplace even if it was an option.

My biggest miss, which for me would be a must have, is the lack of an electric plug in the dinette area because this is the only place people working remotely could functionally sit and work (I could have missed locating it during the video).
I feel that if you put a fireplace below the TV. Move the television down some and then put overhead storage. Also, doesn’t Coachman make a similar floor plan?
looks great! Just wish there was prep for washer/dryer. And, yes, I would have electric fireplace under the TV
Love this camper so much ,that we just purchased one ,should see delivery in 8 to 10 weeks!
Dog camper
I always prefer storage cabinets instead of a fireplace. I can always add a $30 space heater if wanted/needed.
We travel with a kitty. That place under the tv would be awesome place for cat box
I was walking around in this rv in my birthday suit with the lights on at night and I heard Uncle Josh outside whistling and yelling Hubba Hubba
Being in southwest Texas fireplace is not my go to but storage is even if it shallow
Cinnamon toast ROCKS!!
Very similar to the F.E. 252RBS
Really loke this layout. I'd be curious if they could have a table and chairs that can be turned so it functions as a desk option for the dinette? Make a good workstation since all the windows are there
Great couples camper an room for some time grandkids
Remove the slide add some of those swivel theatre seat tables and you would have the perfect no slide couples camper. And it would weigh a lot less to tow.

I don’t care for the bathroom being that close to the kitchen.
the TV and the Cabinets should switch places! other then that, not bad.
We camp with 6 pomeranians so we had to find space for kennels!
We camp with a dog BUT for a season or so we also had two guinnea pigs that went along with us too.
I like to camp with my pet aardvark. 🤣
2 dogs and cat. Cat has hyper thyroid and needs daily meds
We camp with our dog. He is a tiny toy Poodle and his sister used to go with us too.
We cut a hole next to the bed into the front passthrough for the cat box
I camp with my Siberian husky mix
The toilet segue was horrible. I loved it!
This but with more outside kitchen
