My wife and I like the floorplan, but we would love to see bigger gray and black tanks for dry camping. On the fireplace we would be willing to pay a little more for a fireplace even if it was an option.
This one is near perfect! I like the skylight in the shower for lighting purposes. I also think the fireplace would seal the deal for a lot of us. My one suggestion is to make the hanging wardrobe go up higher to accommodate hanging clothing better. The small additional cubby that is above the hanging area in the wardrobes won’t be missed.
The drawers under the bed are such a good idea. You can get your socks even if your partner is still asleep. I hate the hokey sign over the sofa, but that’s easily changed.
Nice rig! I like the way they did the pantry. And love the extra storage / closet space in the bathroom. I miss the nice coat closet he had in our old camper.
I’m digging this one!! Great countertop space! Love the bedroom setup! I agree with the need for fireplace and wish it had a bigger counter in bathroom.
Another rig that would make me consider buying a pickup truck. I like this a lot. The pantry with floor to ceiling storage for swiffers and stick vacs is very smart. Lots of great storage in bathroom and bedroom to with the CCC to use it.
I enjoy your videos but I wish you would go into the construction details like, is the plumbing correct or did they like so many manufactured not use proper connectors? Are there thermofoil cabinets and counters or real wood or solid surface countertops? Those details and so many more matter more than where the couch is placed or the slides are located. Speaking of slides, what brand are they. Some are very prone to breakage and others are solidly made. These types of details need to be reported. Manufacturers have been cutting corners for so long despite the layouts some of these are lemons from the factory..... Tom
I can't say in 'all' his videos he mentions these things, but it MANY of his videos he absolutely tells us if countertops are sealed Thermofoil or solid surface. If you watch the videos, he may not at time mention it but will put up overlays regarding the use of Azdel in the structure or mentions roof and floor construction. As far as slides, he more often than not, mentions them. If not ,you can just look and see...are there cables? If not spot the underside...it's likely rack and pinion (this model.) If there are cables, it is likely 1 of 2 popular types. Then there's Schwintek, which is obvious. I'm not sure how much he can offer in the way of plumbing, as those are details perhaps YOU should check out when you go camper shopping. I like to assume they're all constructed the same with some manufacturers doing better than others as far as execution and construction of the components. Josh does an amazing job at pointing out everything he can while recording on the fly, unscripted. You can't expect him to do ALL the homework and heavy lifting for you.
I mention different items in different videos. Cant hit 100% of everything every time Appreciate the constructive input I do exactly the things you mention but have a lot of requested info so I try to mix it up
@@JoshtheRVNerd Josh, you're an unscripted master. You give us TONS of info. This is actually one of my favorite travel trailers in this size. I love the counter space in the kitchen and I love all the storage. People in the South would absolutely NEED the second AC (People in the North would probably say the electric fireplace). My biggest miss, which for me would be a must have, is the lack of an electric plug in the dinette area because this is the only place people working remotely could functionally sit and work (I could have missed locating it during the video).
I like this one. That Surveyor color scheme throughout with that dark bedroom wall (as I have mentioned in other Surveyor reviews) is sharp....looks great! Thanks Josh
"First to break eye-contact... 'Establish RV Dominance!!' " --- I love this humor. Thank you for keeping us entertained WHILE demonstrating good/bad/odd features. 😎👍
@donaldbailey5576 that's true. But in reality, all trailers are flimsy, and everything in them breaks easily. Camping is just something we love, and we're willing to spend money on it.
Somebody I know very well must have been very busy or very busy camping about 4 months ago...ME! I cannot believe I missed this video because I was "a watchin' fer it"!! This TT, vintage 2023, is my current TT and I drove from Texas to Ludington to buy at Bish and would do it again without hesitation. There is almost nothing I would change on it, especially with all the added upgrades that are standard in 2025 but were not offered in 2023. Your requested feedback: 1. At first I thought I wanted a fireplace/space heater under the TV BUT...that cabinet's bottom shelf is perfect for bottle storage...not talking water bottles...and keeps them secure and on the floor instead of a shelf they might overload. The top shelf behind the doors holds AV accessories, cables, remotes, etc. The open shelf has a collection of RV themed knick knacks, and above that is the Bose sound bar. I no longer wanted a fireplace when I purchased a portable electric space heater that mimics the look and feel of an old timey wood stove, which I can position close to my popsicle toes, wherever they happen to be. 2. Skylight over shower: get rid of it. I keep an appropriate sized vent pillow in mine 100% of the time. 3. The pantry is the bomb! It holds more than I need, including the built in vacuum hose and attachments , AND...it has plenty of space for a tall, large-ish trash can AND a broom with more than a 2 foot handle. Lowest shelf is the hardware shelf (batteries, tape, fasteners, trash bags, etc.) so the garbage is not near any food. Also, the can has a lid for further separation and pretty much without fail the bag is pulled daily and discarded appropriately. I watch most of your video reviews and over two years after purchase I have not seen another TT in this class or price that I prefer. The 252RBLE fits me, fits my needs, doesn't stress my Silverado and feels far roomier than it should. Thanks again for all you do and don't ever not do what you do do! 😂
We have owned the 2022 version of this camper for three camping seasons and LOVE IT. Floor plan works very well for us. Slight differences than ours, not sure if they are improvements or not. Nice review, Josh.
I really love this trailer. I would move the toilet paper holder forward in front of the toilet so it is not at the elbow, definitely move the TV down, and get rid of the sky light in the bathroom. I do wish the shower was wider and they moved the outside kitchen to allow for it. They can put it in the kitchen space area since they have a great pantry and plenty of storage space. This is an AWESOME trailer and number one on my list!
@@charlotteechols3035 I wish manufacturers would turn the toilet paper holder up so the roll doesn’t “roll” if you accidentally forget to remove it before taking off
Thanks so much for all you do! We tent camp until we can afford a lovely model like the one you showed today; we are thinking of buying next year (I hope to be able to buy from a Bish's store!). We camp with our 2 dogs and when my daughter comes along she brings her bearded dragon, who loves to travel. He's a big hit at the beach!
I love the outdoor kitchen with the hot/cold sprayer right beside it so I can wash dishes outside. The storage in the bedroom is also fantastic - in fact, the storage throughout is great.
We just finished our last camping trip of the season with two cats we recently adopted. We have a collapsible litter box and keep it in the shower when the shower is not needed.
While I really like my Coachmen 252rbs, especially after i fixed all the bad plumbing, this same floorplan in the Surveyor does almost everything better. Do wish the big window in the dinette opened. Thanks again Josh for another informative video!
Love that big window! I like off-side windows bc we don't park camp much. it's nice to have a patio space and views facing opposite directions when you are wilderness camping (and also avoid / follow in the sun at different times of the day). If I park camped more I'd want it all on the passenger side of the RV. Josh, at some point you gotta camp off-grid in the west and experience it. I think you'll love it more than you think you will :)
We have a 30ft class C and travel with our two cats. We put the litter box in between the two seats in the front cab. We are looking at rear living trailers and fifth wheels. We still haven’t decided on which one yet. We plan on taking out the dining table in the slide and putting a cat tower with built in litter box, then we were thinking of adding a lift up counter top piece to to the kitchen island. Thanks Josh for all you do. Your videos are the best!!
Fireplace under the tv, definitely and maybe drop the tv a few inches. Also, is it an optical illusion or is the awning sagging? Totally dig this floor plan, very well thought out.
Yes. They did nail it. Top 3 favorite floor plan! Love the windows, everywhere i want them. Maybe some cabinets over the dinette. And upgrade the knee knocker posts. Keep the skylight, I need it. I hadn't thought about it, but might as well have the fireplace.
I thought I'd found my TT with the 2109s, and then you showed me this one! Longer than I thought I wanted, but maybe not. The GVW is easy to haul. The decor is okay. I would have preferred grey but brown works w the hardware color. Loveseat is great. Thanks for the power outlets and storage. Kitchen is nice. Refrig gas/electric or 12v? What kind of counter tops? Great storage. I am Five foot tall, and the spice rack is useless. The microwave requires a stepstool. Controls are nearly out of reach as well. I Like the "farm sink". Visually nice faucet. Would love pullout drawers under the dinette, but those can be added. Thanks for the central vac. TV is a bit high. Excellent pantry space, and thanks for the nets. Tootsie toaster would have been nice but not a deal breaker. No skylight in bath would be fine. Less leak potential. Massive storage in bath! No showermeiser? Love the bedroom. Storage and wardrobe galore. Plenty of power outlets. Fully enclosed storage ONLY! Excellent Road Mode! Magnet latches! Thanks for the mini outdoor. Wow what an awning! Bumper AND a hitch! 400 watts hooray cause its a start. Single sewer outlet makes it easier for me. The motion light is a nice little extra. What suspension and brand of tire? Not nearly enough tail/brake lights, but that seems to be standard. I'd like a standard ladder. One less thing to store and wrestle with at set up/break down. Overall, this one is a contender. BTW...I camp with corgis. It looks like there will be plenty of room for ZOOMIES!
I think the fireplace would make it perfect, especially with all the other storage. No waste basket spot in the cabinets, but it looks like you could fit a full size kitchen garbage can between the entry door and where the router starts. We camp with (2) English Setters.
One ladder away from👍👍👍and I love that Surveyor is one of only a few manufacturers that give you the “option” to ditch the Denny’s diner booth dinette for a sofa sleeper or theater seating and open up the living area for entertaining family or guests💥💥💥
Looks like a awesome camper! For the bath, a slight redesign would allow a flip up or fold down shelf for additional temporary counter space. I think that would be a huge gain in an already great bathroom. The space is there for it.
This is DEFINITELY a winner for me! And I'm super picky!! I agree on a fireplace. I added one myself to my current RV, and we use it over the propane heat.
Would love a second AC and 50amp! Fireplace below tv would be nice as well! I completely agree that tv could be mounted lower. A tad too tight toilet area for someone like me is “husky” and needs more elbow room
Somebody needs to let Ben Holdread know that the majority (not all, but the majority) of rv owners don't like a window over their bed. He has put these windows over the beds in all the Surveyor and RPod models under his direction. For me, and I know many other, it's an immediate deal breaker. Which sucks because there are a lot of Surveyor models that I really, really like (including this one) that would be a very real option if it wasn't for the window over the bed. This is the Coachman 252RBS (they didn't even change the numbers 😆) but with better kitchen counter space. I remember that rv with the theatre seats was one of Josh's babies. Surveyor did a nice job with the floor plan (minus the window over the bed 😁).
Josh need a TALL mirror behind the sink my husband is 6’4” and all the medicine cabinet mirrors are too low! Lower the tv and put a fireplace under it and it’s about perfect!
Great RV review. Thank you nerd. Only changes I’d like to is No knocker table, heated tootsie toaster, splash guard behind and along the right side of stove top. Definitely a second AC as you know here in the Boise area and SW US it’s scorcher summers. Ladder included would be nice too. Overall definitely an RV that , I would consider.
Another good video Josh, keep him up. Yes, we do take our dogs with us camping. It makes it so much more fun. In the bathroom, I would get rid of the skylight. I would like to see a window. I love to open it for fresh air. In the living room, I would not care about the electric fireplace. We are dry campers. I'm not sure what slides. They are called, but they are able to be sat on while closed. If you could use the slide while it is closed, it would make a lunch stop really nice and even a one night stop easy.
On your question about the skylight in the show I think they should move the vent fan to that location keep the head room for NBA players and eliminates a hole in the roof
Forest River is on fire 🔥 So many of their brands doing great things. HOWEVER... it's time for all RV manufacturers to start getting serious about plumbing and making consumers aware of what they're doing.
Hi Josh - it would be great to see other manufacturers copy this layout. It's just about perfect for couples camping with a cat. Love the TV location, can mount it lower and not have it at the ceiling height liks so many other trailers. Love the videos!
The unit would be absolutely perfect for me with a space heating fireplace under the TV. The TV would be so much better if it were mounted lower. I’d like the skylight out of the bathroom. Thanks for your many years of amazing work. Big fan.
There's no "shortage of storage" (yet ANOTHER attempt at #37)....a fireplace totally would be worth it. The "swaption options" (STILL TRYING" offered by Surveyer are pretty ingenious. This is my absolute favorite 30 foot couple's camper floorplan
Yes to the shower skylight. I've covered mine during freezing temps and the bathroom loses too much daylight. If the vent fan blades and hood were transparent, I'd consider nixing the skylight.
I feel that if you put a fireplace below the TV. Move the television down some and then put overhead storage. Also, doesn’t Coachman make a similar floor plan?
I was also thinking it'd be nice to have the sink over the outdoor fridge instead of squeezing it between the toilet and the shower. The shower is currently only 24 inches wide it'd be nice if it was 30 in wide. And moving the sink over would give more space around the toilet.
Thanks Nerd! I do not think the fireplace is worth the squeeze. The dining table big window is lovely! Love the light in the pantry, wish there was an outlet. No, I do not think the skylight is needed in the shower. Surprised the TV backer in the bedroom is on the outside wall and not the interior wall since that sliding door is not competing with the TV and there are only the upper cabinets above the theater seats on the other side of the wall. Outside speakers - lower is nicer if including them. Love the way the camp kitchen is set up.
We’ve looked at this unit many times. They really need to put the elec fireplace in lieu of the 3” deep cabinet under tv. It might be a great place to display watches 🤷🏻♂️
Almost perfect! Fireplace would be great if it didnt affect pantry...storage below tv is pretty useless so Fireplace Please! Is there an option for table and chairs? If not could one side of booth be removed without damage and replace with 2 chairs? I Really like this one! 🤗
Remove the slide add some of those swivel theatre seat tables and you would have the perfect no slide couples camper. And it would weigh a lot less to tow.
Love this. They did an awesome job with storage and kitchen layout. Would also like to see this with a floor plan with no slide, a bar type dinette and overhead storage on that wall. I wonder how it would be with the recliners. With the large pantry (waste basket space!), might even be able to get away with a drop-down bar/table and folding stools for 2. What do you think?
17:33 shout out to Forest River designers/engineers. This has a very nice aesthetic at this view. So great job on that. Probably joshes impeccable camera work. 😅
This is almost perfect, the cherry on top would be the fireplace, other than that, this makes the perfect couples coach. The size of the awning, leaving the dinette alone, location of drain valves, i wouldnt change a thing.
After seeing the depth of that storage under the TV, I'd probably prefer the fireplace. But, it's not a deal breaker for me. I also agree, I wish the under sink area didn't have the shelves. That being said, looks like there's decent room next to the sink, by the door for a trash can, or, maybe even inside that pantry. Speaking of which, I love that the shelves are inset. If not trash, it's a great spot for brooms and other long items. All in all, it looks great! Oh, and no pets for me. 😀
Cool! It’s like the imagine 22 MLE. Love the living apace. Has some ok door side windows. The dinette is good. Can they put in a u dinette? The kitchen is good. Like how easy you can see the Tv. The bathroom is good. The bedroom is good. The out side kitchen is good. Like it. Thank you!
I have seen better dining tables without knee knockers. Put shelves in the upper and remove 1/2 under the sink for waste can. Could add a fold away counter next to the sink, need full drawers or fold up seats to access under dining benches. Yes electric fire place so I don't use up propane. Add a small pivot table to the door side of the theater seats. Yes always have skylight in shower especially as they forgot to add a back window. Bigger bedroom windows. Do like the layout and storage probably biggest knock is how small the bath sink is
Not bad at all, like pretty much everything. Keep the recessed ceiling in the shower, but get rid of the skylight. Really like the extra hanging in the bath. Your thing is wastebasket space, mine is pantries (like this one a lot) and countertops (material?).
Really loke this layout. I'd be curious if they could have a table and chairs that can be turned so it functions as a desk option for the dinette? Make a good workstation since all the windows are there
I see the theater seat and see room for a desk/monitor! I do so wish Manufacturers would put their TV’s slightly above desk height so we could use it as a second work/gaming/movie screen. 😊
Love it, but they need to secure the solar wiring better on the roof, and they should have shelves in the cabinets in the kitchen. The height of the TV will help to not get neck headaches 😅 shouldn't be watching so much TV anyway 😅😅 you are camping and enjoy the camping 😅😅
I agree Josh, would love a fire place under the TV!!!!
Yup. Only thing missing
This floor plan has a fireplace now for 2025.
Fireplace would make this perfect!
It has a fireplace now

I full-time in a small Class A with a cat. Not ideal, but I'm not giving her up. She's my bestie.
@@christinepotter7117 we currently have a window that opens at the head of the bed and we LOVE it
"Establish dominance!" 😂😂😂
Fantastic floor plan! My trade-in our open range ultra lights 3310 BH.
Freedom express has a version called a 252rbs that's also pretty good though I do think I like this layout a smidge better
I absolutely love that camper!!!
it's a fantastic model executed extremely nicely
@@JoshtheRVNerdYes, absolutely! I think I have a favorite one picked out, and then you show another new favorite! 😂😂
Love the colors and layout.
The unit would be absolutely perfect for me with a space heating fireplace under the TV. The TV would be so much better if it were mounted lower. I’d like the skylight out of the bathroom. Thanks
for your many years of amazing work. Big fan.
they actually added fireplace standard JUST after I made this
Great review Josh…you’re the best in the business. Looking forward to your 2025 reviews of the 19SSLE and 202RBLE Surveyors.
This is dang near perfect! I'd definitely move that toilet paper holder, but all in all not much to hate on.
I feel that if you put a fireplace below the TV. Move the television down some and then put overhead storage. Also, doesn’t Coachman make a similar floor plan?
Skip the slide and make an L shaped lounger/dinofa wombo combo. That's be awesome and increase the CCC. That'd be darn near perfection in my opinion.
No slid add a bar with lower counter. 💙
Exactly my thought.
Extra solar is wonderful
Almost perfect! Fireplace would be great if it didnt affect pantry...storage below tv is pretty useless so Fireplace Please! Is there an option for table and chairs? If not could one side of booth be removed without damage and replace with 2 chairs? I Really like this one! 🤗
Yeah you can get table and chairs
Thats Awesome...in my top 2!!! 🤗
I think that dinette booth is growing on me! I LOVE this one!!! 😊❤
I have found my next rv for my wife and dogs
Only them?
Remove the slide add some of those swivel theatre seat tables and you would have the perfect no slide couples camper. And it would weigh a lot less to tow.
Pretty decent FP...think I'd eliminate the slide & dinette. Some seriously good storage & nicely equipped.
you give me too much credit
This is almost perfect, the cherry on top would be the fireplace, other than that, this makes the perfect couples coach.
The size of the awning, leaving the dinette alone, location of drain valves, i wouldnt change a thing.
Fireplace is actually now standard. They added it after this video went out
After seeing the depth of that storage under the TV, I'd probably prefer the fireplace. 😀
This is an amazing unit!
Cinnamon toast ROCKS!!
Cool! It’s like the imagine 22 MLE. Love the living apace. Has some ok door side windows. The dinette is good. Can they put in a u dinette? The kitchen is good. Like how easy you can see the Tv. The bathroom is good. The bedroom is good. The out side kitchen is good. Like it. Thank you!
They do not offer a U dinette as it turns out
Actually impressed with this one. Wish they would go with 30 lb propane tanks as standard now
Great looking floor plan
Now that's an excellent layout
I have seen better dining tables without knee knockers. Put shelves in the upper and remove 1/2 under the sink for waste can. Could add a fold away counter next to the sink, need full drawers or fold up seats to access under dining benches. Yes electric fire place so I don't use up propane. Add a small pivot table to the door side of the theater seats. Yes always have skylight in shower especially as they forgot to add a back window. Bigger bedroom windows. Do like the layout and storage probably biggest knock is how small the bath sink is
I have the 2022 surveyor...I like what they did with the 2025!!...they just need to add an ice maker
Not bad at all, like pretty much everything. Keep the recessed ceiling in the shower, but get rid of the skylight. Really like the extra hanging in the bath. Your thing is wastebasket space, mine is pantries (like this one a lot) and countertops (material?).
We camp with our dog. He is a tiny toy Poodle and his sister used to go with us too.
3 dogs. 2 Belgian Malinois Search and Recovery dogs, 1 Chocolate lab Service Dog for my husband, and 1 husband. In a 30ft Keystone Bullet 260 rbs.
I love that setup
Axleless axles would be great. It would be a great overland unit. It would upset ember!
I was walking around in this rv in my birthday suit with the lights on at night and I heard Uncle Josh outside whistling and yelling Hubba Hubba
Dedicated litter box space would be amazing. We camp with our 2 cats.
The toilet segue was horrible. I loved it!
We camp with a dog BUT for a season or so we also had two guinnea pigs that went along with us too.
Being in southwest Texas fireplace is not my go to but storage is even if it shallow
Definitely the BEST segue and my wife said she would be sold if it had the fireplace below the TV.
They actually DID add that after I made this video... so.. WISH GRANTED! :)
@JoshtheRVNerd I might have to wait to tell my wife. Lol. Thanks! Keep up the great work!
All rv's should have a mini split a/c as an option
Very nice. I agree needs fireplace
The good news is right after I recorded this they actually did standardize a fireplace
Really loke this layout. I'd be curious if they could have a table and chairs that can be turned so it functions as a desk option for the dinette? Make a good workstation since all the windows are there
Dog camper
I always prefer storage cabinets instead of a fireplace. I can always add a $30 space heater if wanted/needed.
Fireplace would be great
It has a fireplace now
I see the theater seat and see room for a desk/monitor! I do so wish Manufacturers would put their TV’s slightly above desk height so we could use it as a second work/gaming/movie screen. 😊
That's a great idea - I'll pass that along to the manufacturer
This is high on my list to consider!!
Id dx the stove and put atwo burner in, with a micro convection below.
Get rid of the bathroom skylight.
Awe, come on...put a ladder on it!!!!
Good storage and cargo capacity to match. A fire place with storage .A fireplace with storage behind it would be nice. Cancel the slide.
We travel with a kitty. That place under the tv would be awesome place for cat box
Great plan.
