Cleaning out my language books | Bookshelf tour with a twist

  • A long awaited bookshelf tour with a twist. I'm always ready for the next adventure and it's good to be prepared in the sense of not having too many books to take with you if you plan on moving overseas sometime. In any case, I'm also interested in minimalism, and cutting down on language books helps me focus on the languages and books I really need, letting go of the others that I may not have touched in years. This video is also somewhat of an archive for me to remember some of these books before I say goodbye to them.

I come across books to learn languages, and I don't always use them. 😅 But I can't seem to get rid of them because I plan to use them in the future. Also, my collection of books isn't as extensive as yours. But either way, I get attached to my language learning books so much I haven't gotten rid of any of them.

This actually makes me laugh because I do the _exact same thing;_ just buying a lot of language books and only using a small handful while others collect dust. 😂
I’ve actually had to tell myself when ever I want to buy another book of language learning “are you ACTUALLY GOING TO USE IT?” And “you have so many books already, don’t. D o n t. DONT.”
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Q: I'm currently learning korean but I keep remembering the syllables of words in the reverse order. Repeatedly. For example, I would say or write "목과교" instead of "교과목". Even writing that out now was confusing me a little. Is this a common thing? And if so, how can I overcome this problem in the future?

Unfortunately there have been languages that I have taken an interest to that I've bought books for but didn't work out for me because I either didn't have time to take away from my Japanese studies (my current major) or I just didn't stick through with it for very long (Chinese [I have that same book "practice makes perfect"], Korean, re-learning Bulgarian [learning grammar properly and more technical vocab]... etc...)

What is the website you mentioned where you can buy Korean books?

Your collection is just amazing 😭❤️. I wish I could have them. Could you please insert the purchase links for the Japanese dictionar9and books? Either it is an amazon link or any available one. 🙏

I've never bought on Amazon, I'm so sorry! Do you mean the Oxford dictionary? Perhaps try entering the title and seeing if it pops up?

Lindie Botes I was referring to the dictionary of contemporary Japanese, but it is alright thank you. I will definitely search for them online. Thank you for the video. 🙏❤️

Ooh I got that one at a second hand store but it seems pretty famous so I am sure it'll be on Amazon! 🌸

Lindie Botes thank you. Some books that are purchased in Japan can be difficult to find online. I am hopeful I will be able to find online. ❤️
