  • Does it still count as a bookshelf tour if all the books are in a box? 😂📦📚 Today we're going to unbox "the knowledge cube" a.k.a. my brother Porthos's book collection. This is in fact only one of several knowledge cubes, so let us know if you'd like to see more!

I can't believe your brothers are named after the Musketeers!! That is awesome!!
And Porthos is so cool and he looks like Rhys Darby!! 😋

I have a soft spot for Barnes and Noble classics. Your editions of Cervantes and Anna Karenina. I totally agree about Anna. She comes off as indecisive and whiny.

I’m sure others, besides myself would be interested in knowing more about your whole family. A very interesting tale I’m sure.

What was your favorite volume Bookish Kingdom? I think mine was either all the Dostoevsky or Anna Karenina.

You had me at Dostoevsky.... LOVED this video. Time for a BookishPrince BookTube channel 😊 Tell him don't worry, MOST of BookTube has shelves of books we've never gotten to yet! It's the book lover's way. ♥
Edited to add: Anna Karenina is my favorite novel. That is one of the most beautiful editions I have ever seen. My goodness.. gorgeous.
Oh my, I could go on and on about Anna's downfall. I re-read Anna Karenina every year and get something new from the work. I can understand Anna's desperation... I can see how that loneliness drove a lot of her actions and Vronsky's adoration of her "fed" something. Her spiraling out of control... she is irredeemable to me. And on my first reading I was happy (though emotional) at her "last action". 🤫 I enjoy comparing Anna's decent with Levin's sort of "coming into his own"... the very different characters of he contrasted with Anna. I could go on and on... I should stop editing my comment now!

You always have the nicest sweaters. It felt so cozy to see the Christmas tree. It makes me want to bring mine back out. During such difficult and stressful times, would keeping a Christmas tree out, be weird? I discovered Arthur C. Clarke's books, in high school and read everything of his that I could get my hands on. Childhoods' End is my favorite. Does Porthos plan on having a bookshelf, or is he content with his current storage method? I tried reading War And Peace. I didn't get very far. I still have the book since it was a gift. Mabe I'll give it another go, at some point. My Mother loved Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening. She read it to me, as a child. It's the most peaceful, cozy poem EVER!

I love Anna Karinina, it’s my favorite of Tolstoy. To me, it’s a much better story than War and Peace.

I loved this! I think those 2 Robert Frost poems are some of my favorite poems of all time (I often find poetry hard to understand). I also love Poe and Walt Whitman for Americans... This was such a delightful video, I love snooping on others' shelves and classics are 100% my jam. Porthos has great taste! I would love to see more videos including your family, you seem like such an interesting and bookish bunch! :)

I read that Esolen book (I have his Dante’s translation) and found it way too depressing cynical. I really need to read more Dostoevsky! That was a fun unboxing! So many great classics!

One reads Anna Karenina, not for Anna but for the spiritual searchings of Levin.

This might be very niche, but I just graduated from a place called St. John's College. It is one of the last "Great Books" programs. Your brother reminds me so much of my classmates. Both of you should check it if you haven't! There are some summer programs that you guys might enjoy.
