Shout out to Paul Cook. 62 years old (when this was recorded) and didn't miss a beat. Playing drums for an hour is a fucking workout in itself, but when you're on stage under those hot lights, it's twice as worse. This man is a machine. Much respect Cookie!

First gig I went to was Idol and James, Derwood & Mark Laff. Feb 1979 when was in 2nd year high skool aged 14.

Exactly what I was thinking. Thought the days of seeing Cook & Jones playing together were over after Jones refused to take part in the latest Professional reincarnation!
@@daverave2061 Jones hates travelling and the hassle of touring and Cook is still committed to the Professionals so I can't see this set up playing in the UK any time soon. The Cook and Jones sound is unmistakable though and I liked the fact they avoided any Bollocks numbers which we have heard hundreds of times through various Pistols reunions over the last 25 years or so.........apparently they did do My Way at the end but it's not on this footage.

Watched this about 20 times now....brilliant video recording. THIS is how I saw live bands in the pubs in the UK in the late 70s....screw large venues. The sound is incredible!!! Steve Jones tone on that Gibson is the dogs bollox.....OMG that tone....simple but the sound. Crunchy riffs. Forget silky smooth technical guitarists.....this guy is straight up in your face old fashioned rock and roll with aggressive tone. Wonderful to watch live in a small venue. Hope Steve is getting better after his health scare. God bless Gen Sex members. ANOTHER CONCERT PLEASE!!!!!!
These guys are all seasoned rock stars!!! Steve Jones sounded exactly like a guitar player that came in at 97 on the Rolling Stones 100 greatest guitarists list. Perfect for a legends punk rock band!!!

These guys rock, this is what rock is supposed to be about, Paul Cook's drumming is nice and tight, and Steve Jone's playing is tight and straight to the point, nice to see that they have still got it after all these years......this is awesome.

Great potential here for a super-group. Steve is well suited for anything hard rock. Very underrated. Billy is always on as well! This would be a great concert ticket for 2019!
I had no idea they'd done this. Generation seX would be worth touring. It's great to hear Billy Idol sing other Gen-X songs again not just Dancing With Myself and 100 Punks.

I came across this by accident. I couldn't believe my eyes when it said 51 minutes. I never thought id see the day. I couldn't believe they'd actually had rally got together after talking about it on jonesey's jukebox. It was magical. It must have been a first for Cook and Jones to do them Swindle songs live after all those years. I was over the fucking moon. They gotta do some more. Re record the Swindle songs again in the studio with Billy and Tony and the Gen X ones and do a proper studio album. It's a 1 million % winner.

Wow this was great to see! I'm a huge fan of Generation X and it was awesome to see them playing with Jones & Cook of the Sex Pistols/Professionals. This is truly classic punk, These were the pioneers of the genre along with the Ramones. It set the stage for many punk and pop punk bands that would follow for decades.

Steve Jones isn't the greatest guitarist ever but he plays with a passion and drive that's so much more important than all the scales, modes and other assorted bollocks that guitar nerds bang on about. He's got that loose and spot on vibe that you've either got or you 'ain't.

Fucking hell like Johnny Thunders said in the movie Mona et Moi if you can make it sound good with a fewer notes it sounds better than too many notes. Fuck I can't drive a car with too many guitar solos. It's like noodles shooting around the veins in my brain. i'd wrap it round a lampost or tree. It has to be simple music.
In the 1980s, British TV channel Channel 4 had an hour long Equinox documentary on the electric guitar (It Bites were heavily featured) and an older guy I knew who also watched it said, "No Charlie Christian or Steve Jones? WTF!!". How true.

4 on the floor rock 'n' roll. Never heard these guys in their prime but I like it. I listen to Jonesy's Jukebox alla time and think Steve Jones is great. All blessings to them. Cookie is cool too. It's really good to see them doing it.
This is great. Wish they'd play the UK. Jonesy played on a couple of tracks on the last ( brilliant ) Gen X album Kiss Me Deadly, so i guess three of them haven't played together since 1981 !

Andrew Herbert....i wish, read my comment above. I am SO lucky. It's the distance that kills us. Costs nowadays are a killer, the States are very different, far cheaper, far more venues.
