The Gossip (1955)

Deserving, altruistic Jean is nominated for Pep Club President. But Laura, her best friend, refuses to endorse her nomination -- because she believes the falsehoods being spread by "Frieda," the gossip (later star of The Snob, another Centron classic). There's almost as much suffering and heartbreak in this production as in Social Acceptability. An enjoyable film -- if you're into high school girls being catty as hell.
