One vintage practise, talked about by @loepsie , was to singe the ends of your hair, especially when it was fine, to seal the end of the hair and prevent splitting. There is some talk of it in Victorian women's publications.

I once met a woman who claimed to have been growing out her hair for 4 years, and it was still a pixie cut

Since i knew you, my hair become much more stronger and thicker like never was before. He's growing and i don't spend much of my time on him, this is the best part, obviously. Now, i don't have to worry about having a huge lost of hair, or somenthing like that. I just let him.

Really interested in seeing follow-ups to this short! I've had hair down to my tailbone once in my adult life and well past my navel another time. I've cut it off short a few times, but really love having it long! Trying to grow it back down to my navel again and having great success :)

Ive ALWAYS had long hair except when I lived at home & my Mother cut it off like in the late 1960’s.(which made me look like a poodle)😓. However, it has only gotten to about the middle of my back & I have no idea why! Ive had naturally curly hair all my life but back in my day, they had no mouse or gels to help tame the frizzies & it was popular to have hair like Charlie’s Angels. Which meant straight or wavy by never frizzy! Finally as an adult in my 30’s I was able to let it be free & to just let it curl & flow with the help of mouse & curling gels. Allow it to flow in its natural state & everyone loved it! FINALLY!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Success!!!! Yet, it still only really made it to the center of my back. Ive had it trimmed occasionally & that is it. Having it long for literally ALL MY LIFE! It shld be touching the floor! Ive layered to bring out the natural curl! I have good things on my hair & vitamins as well.
However, still only to my bottom & stops. Here is my dilemma though... Im getting older now & I heard somewhere that having long hair as an older lady is a big fashion No, NO! 😟
Im like...wait, what?!😫 That women over 50 yrs old shld not have long hair! This is very unnerving! Im like, “Okaaay, so who makes these things up & Who makes these rules anyway??!” I wld not know what to do with my very heavy thick, naturally curly hair if it were cut short!!! It wld shrink up & people wld think I had a poodle puppy on my head!! 😩 I just can not do that! I guess Im jst going to have to be out of the fashion loop or whatever you wanna call it but I can NOT cut my hair off! Any advice? Im open to anything besides cutting it all off! 😔

@@d.b.4201 i would try to eliminate commercial products first of all, when i did that I noticed my hair growing more healthy, stronger, shinier, faster and longer than ever before! second, who cares what other people think! we have a short life on this earth if long hair makes you happy and you like it on you then rock it! it’s only natural women have long hair anyways! God bless!

Love your hair videos. My hair is in better condition now. But it doesn't grow fast....... Maybe it has to do with my age 58 years? Don't stop making these videos, very appreciated. Thank you❤

With always having hair that grows super fast, it has never gone beyond the waistline. It just seems to break off at that point.
Hairdressers have said it's super fine, but just way more follicles than most people, so have an appearance of thickness.

Right some people just want short hair. Long hair takes too much time. I’m growing my hair it’s almost to middle of my back. But if I worked a job I couldn’t take care of it. I have an in home daycare so it all works out.

Women had healthier hair back then, they didn't dye their hair with harsh chemicals or use heating tools, and would usually tie their hair up in a bonnet when sleeping

It's literally only reason 1. There is no howeverrrr. Ultra long hair needs decades not just years of growth and be worn in a protective hair style continuously.

It’s becoming more on-trend because you and a few others who are helping others grow longer more healthier hair are trend setters. Long is the new short.
