Good analysis. I agree with you. MW gets respect for strength of schedule but that strategy backfired on their basketball programs when it came to seeding in the NCAA tournament. 9-3 will probably be overlooked for a 10-2 team from another conference with an inferior schedule.
As a New Mexico state fan, I don’t think Fresno state has to worry about them this year. Their head coach quit football, and there was a mass exodus of talent from an already hard to find talent school
Your pennants strategy could be to make a framed spot, going into the season, for your top 2 projected finishers for each major conference plus an independent and top one non- power conference projection. Behind you under the bookshelf. Take them out during the season at the point they are no longer in the running…..
Iron sharpens iron, they schedule the way that they do so that when bowl season comes around they dont get punched in the mouth if they have the opportunity to play a p4 team. Even if my Broncos drop all 3 to OU, OSU, and WSU they will have grown from the experience, and we'll have been able as fans to watch them play 3 games against power programs, 2 of them on the Blue!
A lot of this really depends on how good Oregon state and Washington state are. If they are pretty beatable, I do think there’s a world where Boise is a 11-2 mwc champ and that would be a pretty strong résumé for any other group of five team to compete against
i don't know if u watched or not but fresno state already whooped new mexico state and washington state both in bowl games and ucla well just watch the last 5 matchups
Ok, this a good video for a change. I get where you are coming from but I do like MWC teams scheduling tough out of conference games. You only get better when you are challenged. Plus the parity within the teams in the MWC is at an all time high IMO, you can't go to sleep on any team, even New Mexico. I would love for my Aggies to post a couple upsets but unlikely. Hosting Utah, at USC and at Washington State. Utah, long shot but maybe since its at home and a rival, at USC no, at Washington State probably the best chance and it wasn't that long ago that we did just that. Walked in to Pullman in 2021 and caught them with their pants down, but that will also be the reason that it will be unlikely for lightning to strike twice. They will want to return the favor from our last meeting. The one to watch is Wyoming, they are at Arizona State, hosting BYU, and at Washington State. ASU not impossible, BYU oh god damn do they hate those MFers! They hate them so much they hate us as well, and all we have done is share a state with them. They see a team wearing blue from Utah and start foaming at the mouth. They have a good chance at a win over BYU. Washington State should be a challenge but winnable. Lots of questions about how good they are going to be in conference with a new coach but I don't think they are going to miss a beat. Their out of conference is very doable yet respectable.
@@LockedOnCollegeFootball yeah, a bowl game is the minimum expectation. Petras is the starter though but feeling good about the QB talent. Just makes sense for the Aggies to get the Pig Farmer.
Boise has Oregon! OSU and WSU they win 2 out of 3 and run through their schedule they are in. Liberty SOS wont get it done! Memphis runs the table in the AAC and upsets FSU in Tallahassee which is possible, memphis is a top 25ish team and has a coach that was Norvell assistant at Memphis. He knows his tendencies. Then its a different story. Boise the only threat in the MW though! Your thoughts spencer?
The only 10 win team potential is the Bronocs. I say they get to 10 with a win in the MWC game. Rebels won’t do it. Maiava was a game changer last year. Period.

They were incredible the last two years and it was amazing to experience as a fan. Here’s hoping they can pull themselves back from this.
So basically, any team that has 11 or 12 wins would have definitely earned it. Which is the way it should be.
Liberty was a CFP-worthy team last year?

Can we get a locked on mountain west?

The only way a MWC team makes the playoff is if they schedule tough AND have only one “good” loss.
They can have 2--remember, just have to be highest ranked G5 champ

I agree that'll play a factor--but I think both will be 8-10 win teams
i don't know if u watched or not but fresno state already whooped new mexico state and washington state both in bowl games and ucla well just watch the last 5 matchups
I've seen those games in the past, yes--new teams

I would think with Bryson Barnes they should expect to make a bowl game

Memphis is gonna be good, they won't beat FSU tho they're not on that level
Wyoming a sleeper to win the MWC and go to the cfb playoff
New HC that can be tough...but as I said about Boise, not impossible
Boy-see not boy-zee

The only way Boise gets into the playoffs is if they only lose 1 game, to Oregon. Of course, thats assuming there are no undefeated G5 teams.
They could lose 2, maybe 3 but no more
2 is the utmost maximum in my eyes.
