I love his empathy, as he was talking about how easy for men to relieve ourself and the women had to wait in long lines. Other words they was losing time. He is so aware of others. Love this dude.
@@loriedwards3987 I would assume I would be too if I was in a serious race. What % of women that you know would you say go with waiting in line or waiting for a facility Vs just hitting a random spot in the woods?
13:29 23.5 miles in and Hellah is the kind of guy to ask how his crew is doing. That's when you know you're watching a genuinely good guy. Proud of you Hellah.
Nice work brother. I finished right behind you at 27:53:40. It was so cool to meet you and give you a high five as you were heading back out of win. I tried to catch you! Haha
It’s amazing to see the work everyone out in during each aid station. Phenomenal job filming that. “Y’all better get that work in. Cause I’m dying out here” favorite line
Bro your team is incredible. Saw the point when you were you were pushing beyond your “limitations” and your team asked all the right questions and gave you perfect comfort, and when you weren’t thinking about the details they automatically stepped in and made you aware of things. You guys have an amazing team.
Great effort, and great support from your team! That little extra support from Courtney Dauwalter on the home stretch must have been such a nice boost!
This was so cool. I grew up in Empire, CO, and my plan is to run the Leadville 100 before I turn 50. I’m so stoked for you to have finished this. I was listening to it while I did my run this morning, and had to stop and check because I SWORE I heard Courtney’s voice. How cool was that, at the end of an epic adventure?!? You’re a beast. Can’t wait to watch more of your adventures. Congratulations on this finish.
We love you Hellah! This is one of my dream races. Such an amazing accomplishment and film - your light shines so bright, we are very lucky to have you. The moment with Courtney was so sweet. She's the best. So cute to see you fangirling haha
Hey Hellah. Long time viewer. I just want to say that you are appreciated for your kindness, your passion, your dedication. Continue living your best life man.
This was so epic!! I can’t imagine how difficult those walls must of felt but you kept pushing through them and finish with a big smile. Your team did such a great job keeping you motivated! What an amazing experience 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I love watching people run ultras, it’s truly a superhuman feat that I hope to one day accomplish, but this guy is another level!! He is SO kind and has such high spirits the whole time! Such a light and encouragement! Incredible work
Hellah………YOU are an ELITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The difference only lies in them having more experience with ultra runs. Congratulations on your first!
Amazing video! So much care being shown by everyone involved, truly what makes this community special. It really brought me back too. Mt. Hope was the first major peak I climbed on one of my first backpacking trips. Over a dozen 14ers and several races later, it remains one of the hardest and most humbling things I've ever done.
Great job Hellah, so proud to see you finish and do it well under cutoff! Loved the conversations with Sally and Courtney, two of my favorite ultra runners and people! Man, your crew was on point! As we like to say in our community, "it takes a village." My favorite quote from you: "I got myself in some crazy shit!" made me laugh because I said something similar during my first ultra. 🤣 Love you man! The video is awesome right up there with my guy Billy Yang, my favorite trail running videographer!
Congratulations, that was incredible to watch!! Your crew was amazing, and your attitude throughout was inspirational. Singing in the last few miles!? Running into Courtney at the end must have been awesome! I wish you a speedy recovery, and hope to see you do more ultras!
I felt so insanely inspired and proud while watching this. Thank you for running it, thank you for everyone who got you there, and thank you for the people who helped to share the journey. As a beginning runner this seems insurmountable and yet again, just a reminder that there is the capacity to nurture an endurance so strong that completion is possible. 💛 much love
Congrats Hellah! Super inspirational! Also shout out to the guy running Leadville in sandals (9:47)! One of the best running footwear choices there is by far!
Hellah you are a true inspiration! Thank you and the whole team for this amazing movie and for taking us with you on this incredible journey!! Your positivity and gratefulness is truly unique and so so encouraging! Keep it up man! Much love from Germany
Did 50 MILE in December and just finished up another ultra. I am looking at running this race the next time I run! thanks for the videos and great time!
That’s wild - I got stung by something going around Turquoise Lake in 2019 too! Great job man. I was out there crewing this year and saw you through the day and night… great job!
Not trying to take anything away from you. You did something I could never do, but its crazy how big a help your team of people has got to be. Doing this with just one person would be much slower and probably not have a massage with it. Gotta be some true greats doing it just for doing it without recording any of it (which again I'm glad y'all recorded this)
What a real video man! Love it so much and it shows what goes into these races. Thank-you, Dude! I did a 100km last weekend and can appreciate this video so much. RESPECT MAN 🤙🤘👍
Awesome job Hella! That is crazy to think people can run 100 miles in one day on flat ground let alone up and down hills. Keep up the positivity. I love it.
This is awesome! Subbed and I'll check out your other stuff dude!.....Cool to see Sally and Courtney along the way....two legends! Great accomplishment and your attitude and vibe is amazing!
Man great video and outstanding effort on from what I understand is a tough, tough race. Your demeanor throughout is incredibly motivating and is making me realize how much I miss racing but more so how I miss running. Starting today I’m committing to running every day
Just started watching and am so excited to sit and enjoy this! Just here to like and comment before I’m even done cuz I already know this is gonna epic! Thanks for making this for us to enjoy!
oh man that was awesome! scared the crap out of me when you landed that jump at the finish line. looked like your legs wanted to snap in half but you held it together! so inspiring !!
Great run, great video! Seeing the aid station process is one of the most interesting parts of ultra videos-- I love seeing how everyone works together to make sure you're refueled and ready to go. What's the deal with the 4 watches?
Mad respect for this. Those who have ultra’d and attempted these types of things know that it brings you to your limits and forces you to submit or go past them.
Hey there passing through my name is Janira I am from the Bronx I run with Boogie Down Bronx Runners. You are such an inspiration such a motivator your team was awesome thank you for sharing this. I can’t wait to get to your level and do the same race. I’ve been running since 2017 you are a motivator in my journey I can’t wait to see, your next video and your next journey, I’m running the marathon for the fourth time, but this will be my first time running in it with everyone. The other ones were virtual, so this is an experience and a journey for myself as well. You almost made me cry for joy, and how happy and how confidence you are you remind me of myself for love with so much happiness and energy. I try my best not to show no fear always to show happy and energy. You have to hold that fear, strong and your heart. That’s what gets us through our challenge and our journey so I’m going to end this with saying thank you again. God bless you and your family and your team. You guys are awesome keep up the great work can’t wait to meet you one day my hat goes off to you.
Excellent work out there. Colorado & those mountains are no joke for people who come from out of state! I found that out the hard way myself in August when I tried to climb my first 14er.
Amazing run! I would definitely use my running poles both up and down on the power line section to save the legs. I couldn't tell if you were taking salt or pills but they really help me with staying hydrated. I hope to do Leadville one day! You're an inspiration!
Watching Adrian Macdonald casually peel out of the front of the group and know he will be back more than 10 hours sooner than most everyone else is unbelievable. Great achievement Hellah!!
