Amazing work Drew! Thank you so much for being vulnerable and using your platform to share your story. Let's inspire a generation in the outdoors to talk about the hard things.
As someone who has struggled with suicidal Ideation since as early as 10, and has used the mountains as my primary coping skill for years, I can also attest to the fact that it wasn't until I learned through therapy that embodying ALL the emotions is really the only way to heal. I stuffed those feelings away, ran from them, tried to hide from them and of course it never worked. This is the BEST suicide awareness documentary I have ever seen. Thank you Drew, for all your hard work in getting this film out into the world and sharing your story.
Recently lost my 20 year old son to suicide. The childhood photos of you hiking and also talking about your mom motivating you up Elbert resonated for me. I hiked four 14ers with my son when he was younger (Grays, Quandry, Bross, Lincoln). I only wish he would have seen your film before he took his life. Thank you to everyone that helped make this film, may it help save others in the future.
Thanks for this, Drew -- We lost my brother-in-law less than 2 years ago. He was 23 years old and had a lot of life left to live. Wish he had had a chance to see this!
Hey Drew. So great to see you in Leadville. Thank you for the race tips - they helped!!! I managed to get to the finish line this time. I never got to see this documentary before race day, but boy it was so worth the wait, having now seen it. What a journey you have been on, Sir. You are an inspiration and beacon of hope. Keep preaching the good word about mental health.
What an inspiration, Drew! Courageous just sharing this story much less pushing through all you did. Thanks so much for sharing!! I can relate to so much of your story!! I thank God every day for every breath now. Period.
Absolutely fantastic!! One of the best documentaries I've seen! Really touched on what a lot of us find throught ultrarunning and adventure. Powerful message! Thanks for being so raw and open about your own struggles Drew.
Solid work Drew .. such an awesome work ethic over the years, and strength/bravery to shine light on a serious issue. Keep at it brother! And kudos to the the photography and editing .. a great film.

This hit hard but is sooooo good.....good to watch, listen and understand peoples thoughts and journey with mental health. Gosh that tunnel comment got me-- there is always a light, you just cant see it yet......was my go to.
Thanks Drew for being so brave and sharing your story!! Great film. Love the info on your website about the video posting today "at 4:00 AM MST when the shotgun goes off to start the 2024 Leadville Trail 100". Hope to catch an in-person screening if there's another in Denver!
There’s only one part I don’t resonate with. It is where he said “There’s no cure for my mental illness”… For me, an illness is not permanent. I refused to believe I couldn’t heal an illness or sickness permanently. Thats just me. I accept the reality for others is not the same as mine and that’s ok. I decided to be the exception. And refused to give up until it became the truth even when I had no evidence or reason to believe that it would become true.
