Not really unless you're using it to record with or gig with as a backup like you said. Stereo is a great feature, but otherwise I'd bet the software for amp and effects is pretty much the same. ♥️🤘♥️
@@hoosierdaddy2308 Mg-300 IS stereo, you just need to use a TRS stereo to 2 mono 1/4. It's a commonly available cable. I use that to plug my 300 into my UA Apollo and it works well.
Had to watch this again as I'm considering one of these for fun and I keep hearing great things about these from Nux.. One guy said it sounded as good as his axeFX 3 almost.. So that's quite the endorsement. !! Great video brother! Thanks man!
Sounds great Leon. I bought the MG-300 two years ago, it’s pretty good I guess. I think the best high gain results I’ve gotten out of it are based on copying the settings from your video. I did have trouble with the last firmware update, which is one year ago now. I don’t expect to see many new features, but some bug fixing releases would be nice. Overall not bad but as far as upgrading is concerned, I’ll wait until I can afford an HX Stomp.
I wish this was around 15 years ago when I started playing. Much friendlier UI and tonal experience compared to the horrors of digital modelling in the 00s.
I had the first model before I brought the pod go, and I was blown away on how great it was, I gave it to a mate so he can shred without waking his children up😂
I agree. For the money, this is some pretty darn good tone generation. Wouldn't hesitate to use these, like as a 2nd guitar on a doubling track for a different tone, for example.
The Nux MG-30 is the best 200 bucks I've ever spent on guitar gear as far as bang for buck goes and crushes any other Chinese made modeler. I don't even look at my crappy Hotone modeler that I paid twice as much for.
Can you stack drives on the MG400 by using the “comp” block for a second “efx”? So a tube screamer into a fuzz for example. Pretty sure the MG30 does this. Thanks!
the game changer for these cheaper modellers is that you can load your own IR's, i wonder just how much better the modellers of old would've sounded with decent IR's
Hi nice video! I can buy this or the mooer ge200 (same price) what do you think of those? The ge200 has the possibility to load amp models. Any opinion? Thank you!
I couldn't watch all this at first this morning, so I'm commenting now. It sounds great for the price. We live in a great time for gear. Just awesome. I think you could plug into a rock though and make it sound great with your high level of playing sir. ♥️🤘♥️ Great review my friend. Great product. Back in the day I would have died for such a device. Best I could do back then was the Rickman which was way ahead of it's time for the 80s. ♥️🤘♥️ I still say the ADA and Soldano are the best 80s rock preamps / amps of all time. 😂♥️🤘♥️ Have a great day kind sir and be safe and well for you, your friends and family. Hope the kitties are well too. ♥️🤘♥️
Hi! Love your review. How giggable are these smaller modellers? Like switching a couple of FX on and off per song + using the looper live, which is my big concern.
I play a lot of chug core, so that means sustained, high gain palm mutes. Is the noise floor easy to tame? Is there a whammy pedal in this unit? Also, how many channels does the USB have? Can you track a DI and reamp with it only using its usb interface?
Hilarious I had a Gorilla amp as my first amp about 35yrs ago with an Antoria Tele style guitar. still got the gorilla in my loft in excellent condition. It did good enough job as a young teenage beginner. Gonna get it down later and see how it sounds to more experienced ears in 2024
anyone have anythoughts on this unit vs the boss gt1? they're in the same price bracket. I have an easier time trusting boss because i own the gt1-B for my bass and I love it.. But its a new world with so many options out there.
Leon, you are correct. The Nux 300 was the best budget modeler I'd ever heard. Much better amp sounds than Mooer, Flamma and Hotone at similar (or higher) price points.
Thanks Leon, great vid as always. Do you know if you can move the volume pedal to the front and program the min to say 25% as I cant do this on the Mg300
tried using your IR's with the Nux and I copied the file down and it doesnt seem to see them.. sorry Im a noob to this.. any ideas..? and thanks for the great vid
From all the research I've been doing in my quest I found that the mg-30 is the flag ship model and has the best overall tone due to the amp bias feature. It also has bass amp models as well. Hope this helps.
@@jesseparrish9198 Well, it just arrived, so haven’t had that much time with it, but so far it’s pretty damn nice, man. Easy to use and the tones are fantastic. Only issue is, I have to get a separate microphone now since it doesn’t support TRRS input from a headset with mic. But it’s not such a biggie... other than that, it’s fantastic!
Nice video. How does it feel when you play? Dynamic, squished attack, etc..I mean, the sounds are just great but do you have the "interaction" as with ets say ..the real amp?
Kool. Thanx for the info. I may check one of these out. I like the basic tone of it. One more question...Does it have a Leslie simulator that I can ramp from slow to fast and does it have a ring modulator? Those are two EFX I like a lot. If it has those two I'll pick one up.
Damn. I wish I'd known this was coming out. I'd have held off on my MG300. Oh well, I can always grab this and sell my MG300 to my student who really wants one Would you say this is competitive against the MG30?

Biiiig time
Even within the last 10 years the multi fx pedals have improved alot especially the amp sims.
Some of those Zoom units were dire 🤣
I still wake up screaming about spiiiiders ( 🕷 🕸 🕷 🕸 🕷 🕸 🕷) but line 6 and not actual spiders
They did. The digitech 2120 or 2112
It may be the only pedal I need as a perpetual bedroom and garage guitarist

Seems like a cheap modeller like this combine with a cheap guitar will be able to achieve some expensive tone. A blessing for beginners.
Wow at 527 that chorus sound was just unreal. Tc style chorus. You get great sounds.
I like how the stereo chorus so similar to my old korg ax1.5g.. I can't wait to obtain it next month. 😁
Just sounds great. Such an 80s sound. You really bring out the way it used to sound. I think im sold on this.
Glad you like it!!
I’m buying one just because I love the 300 so much and want a backup in case it ever goes down.

Omg it sounds really good, the problem is in the Switches that pedal should have a XL version of it !!
The only think I don't so much like are the reverbs on the Nux units. I sold my MG30 for that reason.

Crazy good value
It's $319 here in Australia

is it possible to record without use of any audio interface (just by using USB connection) ?

The Mg300 output is 1/4 stereo you just need an adapter

not that i know of but they seem to update their hardware pretty regularly. I hope they do an all in "pro" version soon.
