I just fired my psychiatrist who'd been stringing me along for YEARS with no treatment plan, no tools, no assigned homework (I did plenty on my own without direction), and no real progress. He claimed to be doing CBT, but it sure didn't seem like any CBT I'd ever had before. Thank you for this video. You just confirmed what I'd suspected for a while now. Bottom line: if you consistently leave therapy feeling emotionally dysregulated and it takes you days to recover, you should probably fire your shrink.
Likewise, if your shrink keeps feeding you benzos for over a decade as a solution for your anxiety.

Some time ago I told my therapist who is big on CBT that it doesn't actually help me cause I think it is a bit oversimplification. I think for cbt to work you need to be well regulated emotionally . Often times after session I felt like I am a robot. Just take out your unhealthy thoughts and replace them with healthy ones. Oh. If it was so easy.

You just completely described my health anxiety to a tee. But I can’t take SSRI, they give me really dark thoughts.

Because I look things up about health, does it mean I need to be on an ssri and not cby
