Really looks superb. Thank You for sharing. I have just ordered many Metcalfe kits including this station. Will keep me busy during looming winter months lol. Best wishes to you! Hugh 👍👋☕️☕️
Thanks to everyone who has commented. It was a joy to build this model and watch it progress. Platform is next for it to sit on. Electrical work on the layout is also progressing!
Just bought one of these to have a go at. I'm returning to the hobby after a number of years so I'm finding my way again. This video is great; really helpful, well presented and has given me a few tips which will help with the construction. Cheers!
I've made a lot of Metcalfe kits for N gauge. They really are good and as you say the instructions are first rate. I've even made some kits I don't want on my layout as I enjoy building them so much. Excellent review.
I love these kits as they are very easy to put together and they are full of detail . The instructions are simple to follow and there are always plenty of 'extras ' such as doors etc . They are streets ahead of plastic kits for my money !
I’m modelling my first small OO layout with my son, who is only 3 but he’s quite gentle. Even so, I thought the skaledale plastic buildings would be a more robust option for us. That is true but the realism is so poor I’m going with Metcalfe from now on, we will just have to be careful when using the layout.
I made this kit in n gauge but I realised , after finishing, that with all the separate rooms illuminating with LEDs was very difficult . I ruined my station because I removed so much of the floors and walls. I will build another one now fitting the LEDs and wiring as I go.
I seen this and thought yes I’d really like this, however now trying to buy one and apparently you just get a box with windows, NO bench, no wall, no extras of anything, can anyone verify this as sellers are stating that the building is all you get but clearly on your video you get the steps, wall, bench and base
Hi Paul, I've just checked the Metcalfe website and the instructions for this kit say it includes ramp, steps and walls, but not platform and no bench. My video at 7.17 shows the bench was bought separately and at the start I explained that the platform was also separate. Hope this helps.
Focus can be difficult when shooting very close but hopefully you can still see what is happening. PVA glue works ok and I have lots. How did UHU go on your models?
I'm very impressed with how sturdy these kits are. Excellent detail too.

Your welcome. I am currently working on the platform for it. I also have the Engine shed to do but not enough time on my hands!
building these kits is quite therapeutic

I like those Metcalfe Kits. I have a bunch of them. I have tried others, but the Metcalfe ones come out much better. Nice video.

You made an excellent job of that building. I do love the Metcalfe kits.

Great video buddy, really enjoyed it, merry Xmas, cheers Stu @ Lime Junction.
Thanks Stu. Hope Santa brings you some nice railway goodies for Christmas!
Love building these get some rocket card glue and precision nozzle and makes the job so easy.

I guess I have the advantage with the bigger OO gauge, but good luck with it.
To all the comments they bloody fantastic kits you can't beat them
great video!
Merry Xmas
I’ve just purchased this kit you don’t get the bench anymore 😔
Informative

pity your video is not always in focus. UHU is a much better glue to use.....its sets quite quickly, and is one of the brands stated by Metcalfe......
