fantastic videos mate, I too make tutorial videos and know just how much time and effort goes into making one video! So thank you for the time and effort you put into producing these tutorials. Looking forward to your next video. Keep up the great work.
Cheers
Luke
+Luke Towan Thank you Luke! Yes, each video takes 10-15 hours just to make. I also want to push the boundries a bit for every production in terms of both content and technical level.
You two guys provide us with great entertainment. I love modeling, I don't have too much time but I love watching your videos. Thank you very much for your efforts
Hear, hear! Definitely two modellers who apply a clear, concise and entertaining approach to disseminate first class modelling skills. Please keep up the great work ... I will be watching! :-)
Top notch videos from both of you.
2 model making geniuses at opposite ends of the Earth 👍🙂

Wife is Stranded on toilet wondering where all,the paper is .
😂🤣
Oof
😁😱
Stop using the paper before you use it ! It is a waste and can not make some of the best stuff. Do not tell others the tip. I sell stuff I make and have plenty of paper now.
@@brianbirc its not a waste ifits your hobby, and it looks good
Who is this man and why is he in my recommended
Im not complaining
He just vibin doe
Kali Takumi
I was gonna say that
It's in my recommended because I watch Rocket League video's and in Rocket League, many items like wheels can be equipped with the colour "Titanium White", which is a paint that he uses and said out loud at 5:13.
Because Titanium White items in Rocket League are like the holy grail of all trades, mentioning that he used "Titanium White" painting has made this video go viral:

@@alwaysinagoodshape5327 dude it has to be 100% rocket league like there's no reason I should get this recomended
I probably got here from dnd dice tutorials and paint
Probably one of the best water tutorials I have seen not involving expensive or smelly resins and easy to do!
Еще можно добавлять клей, он очень похож на воду. Иногда имеет запах. Можно сделать эффект водопада
The fact that this is 4 colors of paint, some clear coat, glue and toilet paper means it is extremely cost effective too! I've always been afraid of tackling water in projects.
I mean hell yea my guy but why was this recommended
Exactly :D though i once did watch some modeling videos since i made an airplane in my younger times
If you've ever clicked on anything that had anything to do with any hobby/craft, even for a second. Apparently. Still, cool technique
We're all wondering the same thing. It is cool though.
Same here.
Me too
Before the clear coat I was like; "It's not so bad." Then after the clear coat I was like; "WOW!!!"
Yeah! It's stunning!

I'm an architecture student and I found this video really helpful for my scale model project! Thank you 🙂
Same here came for my model making session😌
i’m in 5h grade. and i just want to ask. There’s actually a architecture class? When can you take it? sounds AWESOME!

@@itsrazvinotrizvi of course he is. Where did I ever say GermaN?
I got a heart attack. I watched it in 2 am

This looks really great, the only thing I might add would be a very minor dry-brush of white on the top of the waves to add some 'foaming' effect :)
Yeah, it needs white caps, but other than that it looks amazing!
I was waiting for that too.. just a dash of white on top of the gloss, following by just one layer of gloss around the white, leaving the heads matte.
.yes.....also along the shore definitely needs some white foam areas as waves crash against the beach.....really cool effects here...just needs some details to make it over the top.
It is inspiring, i don't even do model building, i did when i was a kid but all kinds of dioramas are in the list of "i'd like to do that..."
Especially on features like the boat wake.
The layers of clear coat take that from "well it looks ok" to OMG that is AMAZING! Great tutorial thanks!
For anyone else using this technique, it might be an idea to basecoat your wood underneath with pva before this procedure to prevent the wood absorbing too much moisture, which could cause the wood to bend out of shape.
I especially like the illusion of algae buildup on the edges 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩.
illusion LOL that is the key to not using the paper for its intended use first. Dont waste paper and make less realistic stuff !
brianbirc why are you spamming the comments shut the fuck up almost everyone can afford toilet paper weirdo
brianbirc Anything can be toilet paper if you’re brave enough.
@Inquiring Minds ... _IKR ?!! So realistic !!!_

No idea why this was recommended but I’m not mad, this was weirdly interesting. Fair play RUclips, you win this time.

I have absolutely no idea why this is recommended to me 8 years later
I'm thinking the same thing. Oh and "was toilet paper really so cheap people used it for crafts before covid" lol
Me neither. But I liked it. Never watched this guy or the subject before.
Yeah, like, what the fuck
Hard not to admire the patient craftmanship in this kind of thing
That iis precisely WHY it's called a "hobby"!
1k like to me
I don't do hobby stuff like this, but this was really neat to watch.
I don't do stuff like this, but I do paint and I'm going... "Huh...Wonder if I can do that on canvas?!"
Ali Swanson Only your imagination is the limit ;)
Same here - I love the photorealism of the water here, but the closest I personally get to doing art is photography, which doesn’t require nearly as much patience as painting or sculpting do😅
@@AliSwanson1728 I do black and white drawings because I can't paint. Even crayons is a challenge for me.
@@myrealnameisjohndoe116 I think photography is harder than drawing. Life is so fast that if you don't shoot at the right time, you've missed it. And while something similar might come along, you'll never get the exact shot you were aiming for.
When I draw though, I can always erase, or start over and achieve exactly what I wanted.
Wow Im blown away! So glad I came across your vid.. Now I can make my realistic koy fish pond without harmful epoxy resin or too much clear nail polish to make fake water! 👍👏👏
incredible work, i have been in the modeling hobby for over 20 years and have never see such a simple and cheep way to make water features!

Darrel C indeed, i love the Scandinavian accent.
Epstein didn't hang himself
That was great and frankly quite achievable by anyone. Thanks.
Wonderful video of how to make a waterway with glue, toilet paper, paint
The algorithm sent me here, but damn, this man is a real artist. Props, you're an excellent craftsman. And with such cheap methods, it surpasses a lot of art I've seen in both practicality and beauty.
This is how a tutorial is done. Instead of just watching someone build a project in timelapse and crappy music, this guy explains things in a clear way.
Agreed
I concur, fair sir.
It’s good to watch someone’s technique, especially when they know their stuff and explain the how and why as they do it. I generally don’t like music with my DIY videos-it’s almost always distracting and some people just don’t know how to be subtle about it, while others lack a sense of appropriate music. The music here is just plain weird-oddly enough, I didn’t find it off putting. It seemed appropriate!
One word..
"AMAZING"
This is absolutely genius!!
youtube does A LOT of shit wrong...however recommending this was not one of them.
I did NOT expect that. That is hyper realistic

The boat waves are my favorite, awesome 👏🏼
When I was a kid, I had a 4’x 8’ HO train and slot car layout. I used aluminum foil glued down for the ponds with watercolor blue and white painted on it. It shimmered and looked great.

omg all those epoxy resin producers will be so pissed after realizing you don't have to pay 20$ for 1/4 liter of water anymore :D
Also epoxy is really bad for the environment cause it’s not renewable this is a much better option for everyone
@Seth Hultkrantz Good reason though. You should try drinking some epoxy, pretty tasty!
Seth Hultkrantz it’s still more valid than your whole existence
Seth Hultkrantz who pissed on your coffee?

I don't know why I ended here but it was interesting to watch !
"But before you start, remember to ask your mum if you can use the toilet paper...." I'm not into model railways but I like painting and love the creativity here. I was a bit disappointed when he didn't put white froth at the top of the little waves, I would have been so tempted to do that. But in the end, the light shining on all the varnish on top of the paint gave you the same effect, or better. This was a really random video for me, but I loved it, and appreciate the care that went into making it.
Just retired! Finally get to spend time on my hobbies. Thank you Marklin! This video is awesome. I hope 2022 finds you well! Paula from California

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one with delusions of a certain painter whispering in my ear during this. Although please don't get me wrong, not only do you have the talents to do your hobby, but you can comfortably discuss/teach while doing so. Kudos! Excellent artistic work here: you’ve really put a lot of thought and detail in the modeling process. Maybe one suggestion would be to gently apply white acrylic paint with a piece of makeup sponge to create sea foam where particularly rough water movement would be, such as behind a boat rudder or near a beach?
Seems to be an interesting idea!
Yes and on the waves will be more realistic, but anyway it’s fantastic job 👍🏼

So simple, yet I wouldn't have thought of this in a thousand years.

I found the glue, but this "toilet paper" you speak of does not exist in 2020. I think there is a roll in the local museum, but thieves may have swiped by now...
lol...my wife saw me trying to smuggle a roll into my work shop yesterday...busted
Yeah, this shows in my feed during the TP shortage of 2020.
Problem now solved, mass treasure troves of toilet paper have been discovered, and attempts to return them to their original owner have been made.....
you made my day with your comment!!! thank u for the lol
there was no shortage !
Good job! Jw if you added a lil bit of white paint to bring out the 'caps' on the waves... Esp., on the wake from that boat!

this actually really helped me for doing a school project thank you for this AMAZING IDEA!!!!
Been following Mr Mark on Instagram, so glad to see this video on my recommended videos
That looks great. Maybe dry brush the waves with white paint to make them looking like they’re cresting.
this man is ingenues, no silicone, no cheap store bought stuff, just pure genius. incredible.
Something for you to try... lightly paint over the tops of the "white caps" on the waves with a stiff brush and using your white paint. When dry, add another gloss coat. Repeat as needed until you get a splashy wave result. You can do this to enhance what you already have. I have done this on several layouts, you will love the result. Make another video and let us see how it works for you. I use the high gloss Modge Podge for my clear coat instead of white glue.
