  • In this video I fly 4 locations with one battery at each, to show some new, normally forbidden types of places you can fly a sub 250g FPV drone. Please ensure you check with your local drone regulations such as the need for a spotter, No fly zones etc.

    Nice how your spotter stays very quiet and doesn't intrude on the narration. Beautiful locations where you live and great flying.

      Haha yes I normally just edit out the bits where he interrupts 😂. In fairness It’s often very welcomed input

    I would always still avoid flying over people where ever possible. Although its legal, the public still have a negative outlook on drones. Also I still wouldn't want my defender 25 malfunctioning and dropping onto someone.
    Love you style of flying, very similar to mine. Great video 👍

      I agree with you- I certainly wouldn’t do it to aggravate members of the public but it’s nice to know that when necessary or unintentional you’re safe from a legal point.

      Thanks - so for flying around people where a sub 250g drone may be required, I’d recommend it but for most Other jobs the avata is a better choice. I will do videos on what I like and don’t like about the defender 25 very soon.

    You got my sub. Do you fly with ND filter? How does it flies with strong wind?

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Год назад

      Thank you for your sub and welcome! I normally use auto iso and the filters to keep iso within 100-400. it does cope with strong winds but gets thrown about quite a bit and will be harder to fly. The Avata copes with the wind a bit better.

    hey mate! I see you use the DJI RC 2 with the defender, any issues with Video loss or RC loss? been hearing people have had issues. Thanks in advance cheers mate great flying cant wait to see more!

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Год назад

      Hey thanks for the comment, yeah using the RC2, not had any issues yet. I did hear about issues with the O3 receiver going into failsafe when when Video signal Is lost or due to the BEC not coping with the O3 air unit but in my tests so far I’ve had no such issues. Signal has been rock solid even while flying around the Church ruin in this video. 👍

    what configuration did you use on your defender25 camera?
    I mean the iso, exposure, did you use ND filter?
    I have one, but I feel that it keeps changing the tone of the image and I don't know what it can be.

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Год назад

      Normally I’d either shoot in manual, 60FPS, 1/120s, but iso set to auto iso and iso max 400 or 800. Then I use nd filters to bring the iso to around 100-150 in the situations typical lighting. That way you get some adjustment of exposure through auto iso but settings should jump all over the place. Alternatively in some situations I find auto exposure is fine too but as you said yourself it can certainly change a bit too drastically

    • @dronewilder5234

      It’s called drone assist but may be specific to the uk. Other countries should have similar apps

    There have been report by user saying that using goggles 2 and remote 2 binding to O3 (without using a dedicated receiver such as elrs or crossfire instead) has short range issue and signal drop out.
    I wonder what is your experience so far?

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Год назад

      Hi, yes I saw people report such issues with the O3 unit on the chimera 7” but so far I have had no issues at all with the defender 25 personally and I do use the remote 2 and goggles 2. No dropouts (fortunately as I fly over water a lot 😅) and Range has been very good - easily over 600m even in urban environments. That’s just my personal experience so far though.

    I thought about buying a defender 25, but I realized that it's better to just mount the DJI O3 into my pavo30 equipped with gps reciever unlike of Defender 25...

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Год назад

      What’s the AUW like with that method? If still under 250g then a definite good option but even above 250g many will probably go down that route too. I’ll cover reasons for why it may make sense to NOT buy the defender in a future video

    Unlike the Dji Drone Battery System...How would u know if the Defender Battery is going down etc and you need to fly back Home!...Is it in Voltages>?

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Год назад

      Battery management with these kind of batteries takes a lot more care and is a big disadvantage if you’re used to the DJI convenience of smart batteries. Basically you need to keep an eye on current in the left hand corner and also the voltage but be carefully as depending on battery condition, the voltage can sag very quickly at the end of the batteries capacity so you won’t get much warning. Setting a throttle% timer is another method. This calculates your used capacity depending on your throttle usage but current sensor readings as used by the defender tend to be more accurate. This probably sounds quite offputting but you kind of get used to it. Just not as easy as DJI

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Год назад +2

      Very easy- just play the footage backwards 😂. Obviously only works well when there aren’t too many moving objects like people and cars to make it look weird
