Just found out that Sonya Belousova is also, among other things, the composer of the award-winning soundtrack for the Netflix series "The Witcher". She definitely knows her musical scales... 😱🔥🎼❤️

I always felt pianists and drummers are the most talented musicians out of all the instruments. The fact they can have different rhythms playing at the same time is amazing to me. It's like drawing a circle on one hand and drawing a triangle with the other.

I can name a lot that will fucking destroy your brain because not only do they not strum, they play complex polyrhythms over already complex rhythms.
TTNG, Tangled Hair, Felix martin, john gomm, Erik mongrain are all a few artists that I know that are incredibly talented and can go nose to nose with pianists in how they play their instrument. some even sing and play ridiculous parts on their guitar at the same time and its mindblowing.
I agree with you, Piano and Drummers are always incredibly talented.
but in almost every music is something that would make you quake your boots in their ability to play.
Oh and the Harp is also by far one of the most difficult instruments to play, they look lovely and easy but as soon as you realise that both hands are independent, All the strings are a separate note along with the notes in between. The harpist has to remember that the incredible multitude of strings are all different notes and at different octaves, oh and also the harp is difficult that each piece performed on a harp has to be tuned specifically.
now imagine tuning every string on a harp, if you struggle to imagine, go look at a full size harp on the internet and see how stupidly long it takes to tune a harp.
harp wins. over all instruments that have a "talented musician" behind it, Harp wins. Always.
(Also Xylophone family = more impressive than pianists because god damn you only have a limited number of sticks).
madmanadam1 its clear from this shit you spew that you dont have any musical talent. tuning strings is one of the most basic and primary skills of any musician. even a vocalist can easily tune any string instrument... its cute that you can say so much of the harp, when the piano and harp are so similar ( one strikes and one plucks.) on top of that, harps are tuned to pentatonic scale because it doesnt use fingering to change a string's tone/not, which makes it an even easier string intrument, but if you are to compare a cello to a harp on a professional level, you must be 200% of a greater harpist to secure a position as the demand is not as high, nor are there as many harpists - thus creating the illusion of a higher skill cap.

meh. there are talented musicians or many different instruments. You can't compare percussive instruments to string instruments to wind instruments.
Rhythm goes into guitar playing all the time. Not just in finger picking but strumming pattern. There's a lot of variation in guitar playing. Honestly drummers are NOT the most talented people. I'm sure many are talented but give them any instrument and you need more than just rhythm.

I don't like it either and here's why: She staggers some notes a lot, making the melody drag for a little bit at some points. To me the rythm of this song is central: the base keeps it running at a really steady pace. When she slows down or pauses (mainly to play complex fills which are fine if they fit the timing) it just breaks that steady . I also think she gets quite liberal with her chord transitions too.
I'm in no way educated in music so this might be completely retarded. Anyways interpretations are supposed to take risks like that so hats off to the super talented Sonya for trying to do something different with this masterpiece

Tell capcom to suck it. Cause this isn't the original guile theme as you put your own twist to it ;) it was amazing !!

+templify There are sites you can download the midi file. If you open it within a DAW logic Logic, Sonar, Cubase, etc and set the midi editor to Notation, you see the parts the different instruments play in a sheet music format you could then print out.

QuintusMusique well that's subjective, they play different instruments, and I don't know enough about her to be able to say otherwise but I know that Lindsey Stirling is quite talented in more ways than one
Sonya can improvise on a theme she just heard on the go and write a whole arrangement for it playing different melodies with both hands >< Maybe I don't know everything about Lindsey Stirling but I feel like she's popular for her cosplay and the variety of the themes she plays more than her virtuosity or composing skills. But that's just my point of view
It is really difficult to be critical of such a sweet arrangement but I'm going to give it a try. I would say that part of what makes the Guile Theme so great is the simplicity. Some of the portions of this version are a bit too busy to really follow the melody. I still liked it so much I watched it 3 times though...
Are you kidding me? Simplicity? it’s not a simple song. There are a lot of layers of complexity, if you listen closely to the original. Not only did she combine all tracks/instruments into one piano, she was still able to add her own touch to it.

I agree, but it is important to pay attention on the music's tempo. It slides a bit because of some of this "decorations". Like it's changing the tempo or slowing it down, not that it is a "sin" on music, but it breaks the rithm on a pop music like Guile's Theme, in wich the hearer expects to listen to a full throttle fast paced music.
Unless of course it is the musician intentions all along. If so then it is her interpretation and it is totally valid.

Everytime I listen to this it gives me goosebumps and moves me tears. I think i left a comment before but I'm struck by just what a powerful composition this is. The work you've put into the transitions is incredible. The extra melody you've felt and then put into the song is insanely beautiful. I know you have many songs, but if this isn't your magnum opus then I can't comprehend just how incredible your very best is.
