Just watched the new episode. I would say Tom Ellis has the voice of an angel, but I think it's more fitting to say it's the voice of a devil. Not just because of this show, but it's deep and very baritone. I love it so much!

Tyqas if by original you mean the original Bob Dylan version, not at all, imo it's not very good. the Hendrix cover is amazing though, but this version competes heavily. I hope we get a full version.

I think it's good to have a preference of your own. I'm a huge fan of the Bear McCreary composition of the song from the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack, for me it's the defining version of the song, since in BSG it's not just part of the soundtrack, but also features significantly in the plot, weird as that might sound if you haven't seen the series. It contains guitar riffs and drumming that are completely alien to the other versions of the song, once you hear them they're embedded right in there. That said, I love stripped down, piano and vocals versions of songs too, just like Lucifer's. Really amazing in composition and performance.
I'm not saying it was the best, but I'm saying, it was one of the greatest encounters of all the time between a mother and an estranged boy.

Lots of appreciation for Ellis, but that piano arrangement is brilliant. Hearkens back to Dylan's original harmonica accompaniment more than anything else.

Not sure if you noticed this but an example of a really clever Easter Egg for crossover fans of two TV series. On "Lucifer", Tricia Helfer played the Devil's mother and in this scene where her character is introduced, Lucifer is playing "All Along the Watchtower" on the piano. On the "BSG" reboot, Helfer played Cylon #6. At the point in the show where the remaining "sleeper" Cylons are activated, it's done during the song "All Along the Watchtower" (which only they can hear). Nice.
