I currently have 800mbps xfinity internet plan. I have my own cable modem that supports 1.2Gbps. I use Google WIFI mesh system and have 3 access points throughout my home. My Xbox series x is hard wired and gets 800-1000mbps download speed. Speed test on my iPhone 12 pro over Wi-Fi get 180-200mbps max. Im definitely getting the Orbi for Christmas this year after seeing this vid. 👍

Good review Aliya! I got the TP link Deco 60(AX3000) from costco and ended up returning it due to intermittent slowdowns. I then got this Orbi unit and have been very happy with performance. The only issue with this one is the lack of a proper perental control. Nighthawk customer service said they have one in the work for all their wifi 6 mesh systems through Circle and shoud be availabe in couple of months. It will be a subscription model.
I currently have the tplink p9 that goes trough thick walls. My husband says is okay but what pissed me off was $397 price and a week later price is $199 so I probably gonna switch to the orbi . Our modem Is in the garage and the game room is on the opposite end of the house .
I would love to see a video about the web interface and the setup of the orbi. I run my servers and web site and I’d love to see the network setup part.
I have the exact same set up one wired satellite and one wireless. Is also had the same problem connecting with the app. Once I did get it set up it’s been pretty much flawless.
I don’t have wired network cables in different rooms, would you advise that speed and consistency is flawless in case all satellites are connected wirelessly
Great assumption on the cause for your intermittent connectivity issues. Sounds like the older router was being overwhelmed trying to push that traffic through, likely overloaded it's max throughput. The newer Orbis will be able to support more devices and higher simultaneous throughput. Cpu limitations playing the largest role in improving your previous experience

Very good video. Costco currently has this on sale and I'm thinking of purchasing it. I have Spectrum internet service (the bundle) and I'm using my own wifi router. The Spectrum modem is connected to my router via a cable. Is this Orbi router compatible with that?

Thank you. I actually didn’t take security much into consideration. I can however say that I get bitdefender notifications occasionally with a status of the network and immediately detects bad websites or new people joining the network.
In my experience when setting up devices via an app you have to make sure to use some thing like your phone or a tablet with Cellular Wi-Fi access... i’ve spent hours on an iPad trying to set up things like cameras etc. via an app, even routers, only to have grabbed my phone and had it work flawlessly. so it needs to download software while it’s speaking to the device over Wi-Fi… Obviously this doesn’t necessarily matter on Bluetooth devices, but when they have you connect via Wi-Fi, that’s been my problem, in something not working.
Would it be better to remove all the cables from your existing modem and connect it to your router, without using a modem? Also, can you use two different Wifi connections (one from the router and the other from the satellite), for devices used in two separate floors of your house?
Hmm. I’m not sure I understand the question correctly. The Orbi does not have a built in modem, so you would still need the modem and then connect from the Modem to the Orbi. For the second question, you can have 2 separate WiFI networks (a guest WiFi), however that won’t be split between the satellites as far as I know. Will be available across all satellites.

I was thinking of using this Orbi setup to connect an ip camera on the second floor to an NVR in the basement. The main Orbi would be on the ground floor where the modem is located. and satelliteOrbi units at the NVR internet port and the camera on the second floor. The camera would have its own POE injector up there. Do you think tat would work?
I tried setting up the orbi says no internet connection also I connected the satellite through Ethernet and I have network switches it doesn’t work. What I’m doing wrong thanks.

i just bought this (AX6000) too with 2 satellites for AUD1800. It works perfectly in delivering a reliable and strong signal. This product seems to multiply speed up to 6x. is it true?
Since the title claims to compare the AX4200 vs. AX6000, it would have been nice for you to actually have both systems and compare the actual performance of the different systems in your setting, instead of just talking about the AX4200 system, and guessing what the difference would be like for the AX6000 by looking at the specs and saying it's not a big difference. I like the comparison vs. your old system, but the title is misleading saying this is a comparison vs. the AX6000.

I have a question. Does the new Orbi Wifi 6 have Disney Circle in it? I bought the previoue generation of the Orbi and it's been great. I bought it because my daughter is using the iPad and can put an internet filter so it protects her from nasty sitesm It's been working really well but it seems Netgear so some reason got rid of it but I'm getting conflicting news about the wifi 6 about the circle.
I have one important question. Do you know if the connection must be router to each satellites or it could be router to one satellite and satellite to satellite? The packaging image shows the second option, but it could be a misleading marketing image. I currently have RBK 53, also got it as 3 pack from Costco. But I found that if one of the satellite is too far from router, it cannot connect. So my testing is connection cannot be satellite to satellite for RBK53.

Yup, the router itself should not impact which provider you are using. The modem may have some dependencies and should be checked. The one I mention in the video certainly works with xfinity.
will app get disconnected when the smartphone's wifi switches between each satellite? I mean, when you use facetime or Google duo, will the screen get frozen like 5secs then become normal. or the game will disconnect then reconnect.
At this point, if it doesn't have a 2.5Gigabit port or ports avoid it. It is worth it the extra. I got upgraded for free to 2 Gigabit, now my AX4200 is not worth it. Luckily I got the 753 from Costco..
Something doesn't make sense. Your network was working fine. Then it went through a period of heavy use and it became unreliable. Unless the router firmware updated itself with a buggy version or somehow the software in the router got corrupted OR there was a hardware failure it shouldn't just suddenly become unreliable. Heavy use alone should not change anything. My guess is that you needed to reset the router back to it's original state, upgrade the firmware, and set it up again. If it's due to some software or stored data corruption there might be problems going through the "reset" process so it can be very frustrating. I have anecdotally talked to other people who said their routers suddenly had problems so this is not unique to any one brand/model. Of course a newer one should be better in general, at least it until one day it too develops problems for no apparent reason.
@@MakingHomeBetter I would guess more likely a software error that led to corruption of something important in persistent store so simple power on/off doesn't fix it. But doing a full modem reset to the default state and setting it up again fix it. Most networking equipment has pretty durable hardware and except for possibly overheating causing something to fry it or a power surge frying something it generally doesn't fail and it isn't affected by light or heavy use. There is no real mechanical stuff inside that gradually wears out.

You have to hard reset both the modem and router with a pin for 15 seconds before trying to connect whether it's brand new or used.

Yup, I think that should be fine. The modem should not impact the functionality of the Orbi.

Yup, hardwired connection would be ideal. The Orbi however does do a great job even wirelessly.

This was beyond my price point so opted for the Tp Link Deco instead. Wish I had the money to afford this one however.

Nope, those switches happen seamlessly

The router will handle the 2.4/5 Ghz difference so that the user does not have to do anything different.
At this point, if it doesn't have a 2.5Gigabit port or ports avoid it. It is worth it the extra. I got upgraded for free to 2 Gigabit, now my AX4200 is not worth it. Luckily I got the 753 from Costco..

This is bad. Expensive topline Netgear routers 'cease to work' by resetting randomly, so I have to buy a new set for $600. F7ck that.
Yup, it’s not good. But the productivity gains from the new system, for me, has been well worth it.
