10mm WFB FTW. How does KOW deal with the things that make WFB unique? How do you port across things like the warpfire thrower mutating models it hits but does not kill and things like plague censer carriers? Then ofc the magic that has some very unique effects? Do you have to pick from a list of troop types and choose the closet, or are there rules for making your own things? If you have to pick the closest best fit, does it still have the quirkyness of WFB? Stupidity, Frenzy, Animosity, Instability, drunken giants falling over, cannons exploding from over use, goblin fanatics, trolls regenerating, steam tanks, war altars, scouts, foresters, etc. Does it feel the same?
We are considering all these elements and I think there is only a certain distance we can go towards it. We choose and adapt from various factions to find the best fit. For example, the plague monks are based on the fanatics from the Kingdoms of Men. It does have the feel of it but is also nice to play with less complexity. Will be interesting to see how the Old World game fits in.
I wonder why you didn't use Warmaster or Warmaster Revolution rules instead? The background to WH Old World rules is similar, the descriptions fits your minis and the system is for 10mm miniatures, so you need not to recalculate measurement or find alternative rules. Or is it too complex for just the size of the armies used?
Yes all that is fair. I would say it is a rules set thing wherein we were getting to know the kings of war rules anyway and didn’t want to have to learn another one. It scales really well and apart from changing to cm, no other changes needed.
What base sizes are you guys using for the standard 25mm and 20mm troops? Trying to scale down to 10mm but don't know what base size to use
Great game ... The rats squeaked a win ... Thanks guys
Man I do love the smaller scales. Great rep

@@ughobby758 Yeah WFB (especially 3rd edition) is not a quick game for sure.
Are these just 4x4cm sqrs not doing the extra few mm kow wants for some units
Yea that’s right.
Where do you get these smaller figures?
We get ours from ROK Minis
