I never thought that Tadashi would be a villian. My obvious candidate was Allister Cree, because he was very interested in the mini-robot technology and seemed somewhat shady at the convention. He was the only one with a motive to steal the mini-robots.

As much as Kingsmen the Golden Circle was thought of as a disappointment, i love the movie!!! Finding out that Pedro Pascal's agent whiskey was a bad guy (not the main bad guy, but still attempted to derail Harry and Eggsy from completing their mission) was an interesting twist. I dont think i had seen Pedro in any role before that one, but now....he's popping up everywhere.....even a commercial for a video game....lol
Nice!! I love it when I catch comments like this. Ill definitely give the movie a try. I usually like movies that everyone is either disappointed in, or have never heard of. Ever heard of Stuber, its a movie that never fails to make me laugh. My kids love it too. We all have bad taste i movies, or good taste depending on your perspective.
I dont think people thought Winston was the villian in incredibles 2, atleast not me. The movie wanted you to know his sister was the villian because of her name
I actually never thought that Merlin or Winston Deavor were the bad guys (while I've heard a lot of people thought that Evelyn was no good from the start). Actually, I've never really suspected much of anyone as the villain (including the snobs in the higher up positions, including concerning the organisation the heroes work for) but I don't think it was any surprise that Arthur (A.K.A. Chester King) was exactly that in Kingsman: The Secret Service. Also, I actually rather like The Golden Circle and have heard people think that Qui-Gonn Jin from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace wasn't exactly all that he seemed, considering that he tried to get the Jedi Council to recruit Anakin despite him being too old to be a Jedi (and instead was a Sith trying to use Anakin to bring down the Jedi). Meanwhile, Ralph Fiennes also starred in The King's Man (the prequel to the Kingsman films) as the original Arthur, Orlando Oxford.
Tadashi showed how much he adored Hiro before he died. There was never a split second I ever suspected he was the villain. I did, however, expect it would be revealed that the disk with his name on it used to program Baymax might end up revealing he was Baymax. Especially when Baymax starts saying "Tadashi is here"
Exactly. I think they missed something here. I remember thinking it was the guy who wanted to buy Hiro's nano bots that was going to be the villain. When it turned out to be the school's dean that actually survived the explosion. Big Hiro 6 is one of my movies, and Tadashi was what made the movie all the better. As Baymax says "Tadashi is here." Such great writing. Also, "hairy baby.....hhhhhhairy BABy.."
@Paul Bilson Krei was certainly the red herring we were supposed to suspect was the villain. Even the heroes suspected him. Another reason I never suspected Tadashi was because when they meet the masked villain for the very first time, he tried to murder Tadashi's brother and closest friends.
The issue I have with most of these movies is the complete 180 those characters make in their portrayal as soon as they are revealed not to be the villains. They will spend most of the movie being cruel and borderline evil, then once you find out they are one of the good guys, they suddenly become sympathetic and supportive of the hero. Seriously, re-watch a lot of these movies and you’ll see it.
Evelyn was known to be the villain in Incredibles 2 literally months before it came out simply because of her name. It wasn’t even subtle Evelyn Deaver = Evil endeavour
I dont know if I am the only one but the moment I saw Michael Caine's character in Kingsman, I was pretty sure he was not a very nice guy. The Pedro Pascal reveal in the sequel, however, got me
I wish they swapped the fates of Pedro Pascal and Julianne Moore in Golden Circle, the lady with the overbearingly evil plan should get shred to bits, not the misguided man doing what he thinks is right for his family

Kitridge in Mission Impossible 1. He's either just doing his job, or the entire movie is actually an elaborate offscreen mole hunt executed by him and Ethan Hunt where they're both in on a staged cat & mouse game to lure the real mole(s) to Ethan. I still don't know which to this day, but it definitely went against the expectation being set up that he was compromised.
Good chance that Kittredge will still make that heel turn in "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning"...unless the editing of the trailer intentionally leans into Henry Czerny's skill of playing asshole characters to set up the same bait & switch
Mallory in Skyfall? I'll think about. But when he's M in Spectre? No, he does not imply villainy. IT WOULD BE COOL IF AN M TURNED TRAITOR! 😎 The REASON that'd be something special, though, depends on her/him/them being as straight an arrow as M is in Spectre. If there's a mole in 007's MI6, it's never an M or a Q. So an M going wrong would be a fascinating new precedent, potentially.
Shoot to Kill (1988) cast Richard Masur, Clancy Brown and Andrew Robinson -three actors known to play bad guys to make it harder to figure out which of the men in the fishing party was the killer.
I never once thought Tadashi was the villain, he had no motive whatsoever to betray his brother. All he ever showed was love towards Hiro, trying to set him on the path to good.
Remember when everyone thought Qui-Gon Jinn was going to be a villain, or at least a troubled man torn between dark and light? As soon as basic information about the prequels became available fans were trying to figure out how this previously unknown and seemingly suspicious person fit into the saga and what his character arc would be across the trilogy. Then there were a lot of shocked reactions when he died in the first installment (and the soundtrack told us it would happen).
Quite a few people we’re able to figure out Evelyn would be the villain not every fanboy going to become like Syndrome you know 😂 and imagine Tadashi being the twist villain that would be both crazy but interesting

Most if not all of these are refreshing to think about since Caucasian males are under fire from hypocrites tryin'a convince you their outlook is antibias. We need more cases like these in modern movies. This is not to say that injustices against minorities and women aren't greater. Sean Bean not killed in Flight Plan was even more of a shock
He didn't die in Ronin ether.
Druig in Eternals. The trailers always looked as if he wasn't to be trusted, but he ended up being loyal to the rest of the team
I have the same problem.
Is an asshole. Very loyal.
Even more so that he’s frequently an antagonist in the comics as well, it would’ve made sense.
Yeah, Charlize Theron's character made a lot of logical decisions, it's just too bad one of them wasn't to turn left.

I agree with you, the only part that I didn't like was when they killed of Mark Strong's character. He was my favorite character in the movies
So glad I never considered Merlin to be a potential villain. He was always the best in my eyes, beginning to end 🥰 That would’ve ruined it for me.
Kurt Russell as Mr Nobody would be Great for the Hobbs and Shaw 2 Mystery Boss.
The sister in Incredibles 2, Evelyn actually had a pun name. Evelyn Deaver... "Evil Endeavour".

Same with Merlin. I've never heard anyone say they thought he was a villain in that film.
