I recently transfered to the Topo Athletic Mountain Racer 3 from Altra and I'm loving them. Wore them on an Ultra Race on very rocky terrain and they didn't disappoint me.
Use Nerdwax to keep the shades from slipping! I use it on the bridge and the temples where they touch behind the ears. Game changer for this very heavy sweater.
Path gear is the absolute best. I looked into them after a gear review by Billy a few years ago and never looked back. I'd also recommend the Black DIamond Distance 4 hydration vest. Plenty of storage and room for poles.
I learned about Path Projects from one of your videos a couple years ago, been using their shorts/liners ever since. Great products, and seems like a cool company. Great video!
Thank you for the well spoken review on the Path Projects gear. I'm looking for a nice trail running jacket and upgrading my shorts, so I'm going to check Path gear.
Just getting started with the Pocket 3 camera. What a fine outfit, even with its inherent limitations. I am finding the Normal color setting to be just fine for 90% of my videos, thus avoiding the time and effort of color grading if I used the dlog-M setting. I also am making good use of the DJI Mimo phone app to provide a larger monitor and control interface for the camera. I had not seen the Ray Ban transition glasses/camera. What a game changer. If I had seen them advertised without your endorsement, I would have dismissed them as a gimmick. May have to give them a try. Thanks, Billy. Great video as always.
Agree, if the camera color profile works, definitely leave as is - especially if it means a faster work flow. And yes, the Ray-Bans are pretty handy for what they're built for, as long as you don't expect cinematic 4K video or a ChatGPT like AI system.
I love the Osmo 3! I took it for a 40 mile documentary shoot through the Resurrection Pass in Alaska. It did everything I needed and more. I only had to break out my GoPros when the weather got dicey.
I find that a good elastic belt to carry my phone/keys/wallet/nutrition is a pretty addition. I fought it for years and always tried to put everything into the short pockets, but having pockets all way around that keep stuff in place is really better. I use one from SportHG, but any elasticated belt will do.
☺All solid gear choices, and I can attest to them being well loved! The DJI Osmo 3 has been clutch this year. Also special shoutout to the new Here For the Women's Race trucker hat, which is launching soon 😝 @18:55
Thank you for this video! That Old Spice trick really had me thinking? Also I really like Path Projects shorts and baseliners and how they are separate. Been using Patagonia trail shorts for 9 years, they have changed and time for something different. And I like that shell, another must have. As for running shoes, I still use Hoka's (they have saved my knee & lower back). I'm always experimenting with gels, so I think I'll try those Precision Fuel products. Gracias! 🙌
What is the white hoodie around the 5:47 mark? Is it lightweight? and looks like you use it for more sun coverage than warmth? Can you let me know the brand/style?
When did visible underwear become cool again? Kind of reminds of the early 2,000’s board short era when kids thought it was cool to have their American Eagle undies visible for all to see 🤷
Is it better than dji action5 pro?! Is it enough to use pocket 3 for rainy days and action b-rolls? I want to make a movie like you, so i need you to suggest which camera is best for filming trail running by myself.
Hey Billy …. Great video again 🙂👍. I have really been looking at Path for running shorts. Also, do you use 5” or 7” for your length of shorts ? Thx. Mike
Have you tried any of these items? What did I miss that's in your favorite/essentials bucket...let me know!
Great shout on the deodorant - I gotta try that! Thanks Billy!

I’ll take a look at Precision.
Happy trails.
