    This is probably one of the most well thought out layouts in a tiny house that I have ever seen! And then to see how well it works for two adults and a dog, AND that it was planned and built by someone with no prior tiny home building experience, and all of that in 24’! Beautiful and inspiring!! Oh, and the bathtub! 💚

    So frustrating how cities are zoned, that things like tinys and grannie flats are so hard to build. I lived in an older neighborhood in my city's downtown, in a mother's-in-law quarters, and I loved it!

    I like the floor plan but personally I'd change the roof to a shed roof with the highest part over the loft and stairs.
    Also, using a gas stove without a vent hood to exhaust the combustion gases is bad for your health, especially in a very confined space.

    • @JessicaRevils
      @JessicaRevils 2 года назад +1

      In retrospect, the roof is something we would definitely change to give more room in the loft. And add a vent hood - we can open windows or turn on the ceiling fan fine but the fire alarm goes off a lot without the vent hood. Definitely some things we wish we knew before hand but we knew nothing 😅

    It's worth mentioning that people had a lot less space in igloos, teepees , peasants cottages, mud huts ect.. and even modern dwellings in less developed countries. A lot less space than tiny houses. And guess what not all there relationships fail lol. Probably even more successful than ours.

    • @TinyHouseExpedition
      @TinyHouseExpedition  2 года назад +2

      They live about 250 sqft which is about not much larger than the smallest home out there. 😉 Great point on the success of relationships no matter the size; that’s why modern society, especially in the US, is so funny on the historical disconnect 🙃😄

    • @phillippinter7518
      @phillippinter7518 2 года назад

      @Tiny House Expedition 250 square feet is huge compared to the size of a typical igloo. Trust me I know what I'm talking about. I've researched a fair amount. There are much smaller and more crowded homes out there. In many developing countries there are places that look like sheds with no furniture, an open fire pit and people sleep on the floor

    03:04 i fell like a shed this big is a bit of cheating on the "downsize" aspect.
    I come to these videos to find storage solutions to basic everyday needs. Tools, cleaning appliances...

    • @JessicaRevils
      @JessicaRevils 2 года назад +2

      We got a bigger shed (5’x6’) because 1) my gf moved from PA and had furniture that was passed down in her family that she didn’t want to sell and couldn’t easily bring to her family 2) I have all of my childhood things, pictures, etc in my possession and do not have family to keep it until we get a bigger place. We do also keep all of our lawn care things in there, tools, dog crate, and generator, etc. We’re not nomads and always planned to stay in one location so increased storage wasn’t necessary in house. Also, this was built for one person, the girlfriend didn’t come into the picture until years into the build so everything planned had to now accommodate another person (who never planned on going tiny) instead of just one. We downsized a lot. I’m sure there are other people that have tinys or lifestyles that more match what you’re looking for. Good luck.

      850 now!! Pretty crazy. And somehow this is the cheapest we could find this close to the city. Austin is very unaffordable 😭

    Save lots of $$ in the tiny 🏘️, then moving to something else is an option, 👍🌈

    Great couple! They actually look alike...Look at those facial features...those eyes. Yep...look alike.😛😛

      Having similar mannerisms doesn’t mean you look alike 🥴 she has blue eyes, I have green. Although I don’t in this vid, I have blonde hair, she has brown. Different skin tones and all. We just live together and spend a lot of time together so we act similarly. This comment is very cringe.

      @@JessicaRevils If you read my comment correctly, I said nothing about eye *color*. I said facial features. The eye shapes are similar. And yes, you DO favor each other in my opinion and apparently in someone else's opinion as well. I meant it all in light humor and it was meant as a compliment to both of you because both of you are good looking human beings. Geese, if *that* offended you...I bet you're "fun" to be around (lol). Lighten up a little. 🤦‍♀

    How can that large dog even attempt zoomies in such a small space. It’s a beautiful home I just don’t think people should add kids/pets to the mix it feels like a cage

    I enjoy your videos, but get annoyed and tired by the overuse of slo-mo.

    • @TinyHouseExpedition
      @TinyHouseExpedition  2 года назад +3

      That’s interesting. Why don’t you like that? We like that slo-mo looks really pretty and helps savor the details of a tiny home & simple moments of the owners enjoying their space & lifestyle.

      @@TinyHouseExpedition Yes, Slo-mo for design ideas is appropriate, but the overuse comes in with drone shots and (especially) animal shots. Thanks for replying.

      At the end of the video, she explains that when people are over or Margot needs to calm down, they can tie her up in a few spots in the tiny house. But otherwise, she gets to enjoy running around 🐶 Check out Margot's Instagram: instagram.com/margotthegold/

      Bless your heart. I'm going to guess that you're young and don't understand this option is so much better than a crate and it's only when company is over or they are cooking. Did you just look and not listen?
