I could never keep the cats food and water and litter all in the same space. My cat box is one of those large Sterlite containers...3x taller than the one here...and I still have litter all over the place...gotta vacuum every other day. I don't see a walk way for the cats either...they go through the door and step into water and food; or have to maneuver around them very carefully. It's also very closed in...I don't think my cats would tolerate the smell. My solution is to put litter in the bathroom; I don't have a box around it yet, so I hang a pretty curtain in the door. They can get to the litter, but it's not real visible and any odors stay behind the curtain. I put food/water somewhere else...close to the sink in the kitchen.
Well this was something rather special for me. The lifestyle and why so many women have gone Tiny in this lovely village celebrating community. Thank you both!!
Beautiful home and community! As a single, disabled woman if s certain age, this community seems like a great place for someone like me. If I didn't have great neighbors who have become as close as sisters over the past 25 years, I wouldn't be able to live in my home by myself.
I love that you both embraced tiny home living. So total thumbs up from me. 2 things. Please find another area to feed your cats. Really disturbed that there are two cats on this planet that are forced to eat where they s**t. I don't care how clean you claim the box to be - between box cleanings there is feces and urine in a box next to their food and water. For s**ts and giggles - I would like for you to set up a low table next to your open toilet lid, at the same height (you'll have to sit on the floor) and have each of your meals there for a month straight. Yep 3x daily, your faces at the same height where you plop down your butt to commence your business. Well that's it I guess really . . . I cannot really remember the 2nd thing. Oh yeah - don't get the 24 foot space if all it is going to be is extra storage - but if you need the 24 foot space to get your cats relief from eating where they s**t - then go for it for cats sake! Go forth and do good things - Cheers!
Whoops! I should have read below before going on with my cat conviction. Colleen I apologize that I took seeing that food and water on film next the litter box at face value. I see below after reading some comments that you covered many much nicer comments on the subject. I was so relieved to hear that the food is in the house even though I heard it narrated as the litter and the box was together so the dog cannot bother them when they are using there cat accoutrements. A bit confused but I'll go with it :-)
The creativity and beauty of your home is just amazing! I am so sorry for all the criticisms. Some people just have too much time on their hands! You have a wonderful, blessed life together. I hope you get your extra four feet on your next tiny home and post another video as soon as you have it the way YOU like it!❤️❤️❤️
Animal people should know this. You DO NOT put your cat’s food right next to or near to the cat box. That’s a definite NO NO! Cats do not like to eat next to their cat box!
You have a greyhound! I want to rescue one so much! Love your park. My brother lives in Lincoln City and Beavercreek with my sister-in-law. So glad to see people who actually live in a tiny house. I would buy your home but I really need a larger one since I too, will have a greyhound, maybe two. I already have a cat! I am a semi-retired nurse and would move from the East.
I just wonder about the cat food and water right outside the litter box? There is always track from my litter boxes, and that would go right into the the food and water.
Thank you for sharing your home and your story. I love Tiny Tranquility. Would like to live there eventually. I've been talking to a friend about what women need. Safety has come up as a need. I think the tiny home community where you live provides just that so no wonder women are attracted to it. My best to you.
If they sell this to another retiree it would be a perfect fit, as it doesn't use the loft as a sleeping area. The bedroom looks very cozy and it's easy to access. Kudos to they wonderful ladies!
Yes! This would be the affordable housing that Americans need, but those who profit from the American people not having this option are currently winning. It is disgraceful.
I’m a sewist also! I’ve actually wondered about how that would work in a tiny house. -I would really like to see you interview someone who has done that well. I.e. organization & workspace.

We don't usually have them together. We did that to show options for the cat room. Our cats have a box in the house because our oldest won't use the one in the cat room. So we have the food and water to teach her to like the room so we can put litter in there and keep.their food in the house like we hoped to do. It just shows how the room can be used.
Wow. I don’t think I’d have enough room talk about two. And no living room area and I must have a fireplace - but I love the lots ! Right by the ocean is beautiful! So I get ideas from each show !!
I’d recommend going a little bigger than 24 if you’re going to make the change. Might as well have that bit of extra space beyond what you think you need at the moment.

Yes, I'm a single woman of that certain age, where I no longer tolerate BS, and so can relate to your comments. Wishing you both the best.
What is the monthly price of a lot there and do they have hookups for flushing toilets?
Think monthly lot rent is around $600-625, and yes to sewer hookups 🚽
where would you sell your house unless is to build a new tiny house or are you tired of tiny house living? Just curious...

Lot rent there is between $600-$625/ month 😊👍
