    (Disclaimer: I'm not telling you what to do with your hair. These are just lessons I learned on my Loc journey)
    What I wish I knew before having sister locs:
    1. You do not have to retwist your hair every month, You're supposed to have THICK hair. Let yo hair be thick! THICK HAIR IS HEALTHY HAIR! that's part of having 4c hair, I don't care what society says.
    2. Because I always be retwisting my hair, my hair be so thin that everything is constantly pulling out my hair. ...creating bald spots on the sides of my head, I always see a ripped loc somewhere.
    3. You can grow your hair without locs. I never properly knew how to grow my hair until 20 years later. And It later taught me that locs are not the only way to go. Massage your scalp everyday! And even though oil makes it easy to massage, you can still get the same results without oil, just make sure you are MASSAGING your scalp, NOT rubbing it.
    I had to chop it all off cause' I don't like how I looked with all these bald spots on my head! lol

      Hi Kuka LaKuukii! You actually have some wonderful lessons for lic newbies🥰 I totally agree with the limiting retwisting so often. The less manipulation the better. Im sorry you had to cut your hair, girl😔 I do find that massaging helps with growth stimulation. I appreciate you so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment ❤️❤️❤️

    It's important to do good research before making the decision. I had 5 consultations, for sisterlocks and microlocs before I decided

    • @LenasLovelyLocs1
      @LenasLovelyLocs1  3 года назад

      Yes, it most definitely is! I tried about 3 consultants/locticians before I decided to go with a SL trainee. Thank you so much for stopping by❤❤❤

    I had a trainee. Started with 3 inches. Did not trim my ends. I'm now 1 1/2 years in. 2 hours for re-ty. Same loctition. Almost to my shoulders. I go every 5 weeks $35 an hour.
    Oh, and it took 13 hours.

    Did you blow dry your hair before getting your sister locs?

    • @LenasLovelyLocs1
      @LenasLovelyLocs1  2 года назад +1

      Hey girl! Nope, I just washed and conditioned it...I made sure to detangle and completely rinse out the conditioner, and I let my hair air dry. I did this the morning of my install. I appreciate you stopping by! ❤❤❤
