I admire your tenacity with retightening your hair. The way my patience is set up…… yeah, that definitely ain’t my ministry 😂 thanks for showing how to repair the holes in Locs!!
I have decided to take on the task of retightening my own sisterlocks after 5 years. I have been looking into tools and came across one tool similar to what you used but it is branded for locs and costs $30. I was thinking there HAD to be a more cost efficient version and I discovered those knitting needles and put them in my amazon cart. I have been searching up and down the internet trying to see if ANYONE has used it for that purpose. I was about to fold and just buy the other tool but God said "no!" And this video randomly popped up today! Thank you for posting this and saving me some serious $$$
Hey girl! I’m so happy that this video helped!!! How did your retie go? How long did it take you? I appreciate you for stopping by and commenting on my channel🥰❤️❤️❤️
Hello There Lena! Thanks for sharing your experience. I cried when I did my first retie. It was a hot mess. I was so frustrated. I made a number of mistakes especially grabbing and interlocking two locs together. I had to completely take two locs down in order to separate them. Frustrating! However, my second retie was night and day different... better that is. I've done three reties... I'm five months in. My key... don't try to retie all in one sitting. I spread out quarters over four days. Much better for me. I am DIY microlocd using 2 point rotation. Thanks again for a great video!
Hey girl! I can totally commiserate with you on crying during your first retie. Marrying my locs is a whole other story, girl😩 It's very frustrating. But my goal is to try to do my whole head by the end of this year😬 thank you so much for your advice and tips, I'll definitely use them when I tackle my whole head. I appreciate very much❤❤❤
You did your retie!! Thanks for sharing Lena. I did my first one a month ago and it’s definitely a challenge. I had a few mistakes with the marrying or combining locs but had to just move on and not worry too much. It took me 3 days. It’s nice to know how to do it but I called my loctician right after like “get me back on the books ASAP!” Oh the other thing is I didn’t move the clock around. In my class she said she keeps the clock the same but when I got to the front and sides that seemed strange. I saw your 12oclock was rotated on your row. Proud of you!! You’re awesome 😎🤩
Hi Orenda! Giiirl, it was SUCH a challenge! Trying to remember how the clock is placed on the sides of my head was confusing too😩 I felt better as I got in the 'groove' of things, but I don't see myself doing ONLY doing self re-ties, im going to have to let me consultant step in here and there, lol🤭 thanks you SOOOO much for your continued support ❤❤❤
Lena!!!!!! I'm so proud of you for doing your retightening!!! You will become a pro. It is great to be in control; you will know what's going on with every single inch of your locks. Well done!!!
Hey girl! Thank you so so much! It was only those few locs, but I feel soooo accomplished, lol! Yes, this will definitely give me a chance to know what's going on with every loc! I appreciate you for commenting! ❤❤❤
Great job Lena!! I commend you for taking on this task to retighten half of your head. I remember how tedious this was for me during the two times I retightened my own Sisterlocks. I don’t like that clip tool either. It bothers my finger. I enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing🌹🌹
Good afternoon Lena! Thanks for another great informative video! I had my consultation and install all in the past 4 weeks I believe. I am now 1 week post install and I am loving my locs! 🥰 Thanks to you and other RUclipsrs documenting your journey I am now on my own journey! I will continue to watch and gain knowledge and admiration to “Trust my process”. Keep up the great work 👍🏾❤️🥰
Hey, girl! CONGRATS on starting your journey!! How was your install? How long did it take? Are you remembering to take lots of pics! I'm sooooo happy for youuuu! I appreciate you for supporting my channel ❤❤❤
@@LenasLovelyLocs1 my install was fine, I had 2 people working on my head so it only took 10 hours. I’m not taking too many photos but I am so loving my hair
Thanks for showing how to repair the holes. Now I know what to do. Some loctichcians won’t do this. And if they do it’s an extra charge, so now I can do it myself. I’m a do it urself kind of person anyways bcuz ain’t nobody gone do you like u will do urself. I had a hairstyle where hair glue was used and it got on my locs so I had to use conditioner to remove it an of course some slippage happened. I still find those holes and it didn’t dawn on me to do this. Now I know…thanks a whole loc 😂❤
It's so funny that I'm finding this now, I had those knitting tools (I'm a knitter/crocheter) so I used them to retighten my microlocs a few months ago. I had ordered the tool from amazon and it hurt way too bad.
Hey Shari! yeah the tools I was using at first was pulling my hair out and I was getting way too frustrated 😫 I appreciate you so much for stopping by and commenting ❤️❤️❤️
I definitely get what you mean about saving money. You’re very brave!😊 I want to start attempting to do my own re-tightening too. Need to know where you purchased your tool. I really like the way it looks, b’cuz it looks like flexible and easy to use.
Hi Sandi!! Thank you so much for watching and doing a self-retie is A LOT!!! Truthfully, I’ve still yet to complete my whole head😩 I actually posted the link in the description box for the retie needle I used☺️ I appreciate you stopping by and commenting!!!❤️❤️❤️
You did an amazing job! I really enjoyed the video. What was the name of the tool you used? I’ve binged on several of your videos, this week…they’re so informative. Thanks for sharing your journey!!
Antoinette! Hey girl! Thank you sooo much! I used finishing needles I bought from Amazon. I put the link in the description box. I appreciate you so much for visiting and commenting ❤❤❤
I switched to a 2 point because it's easier to remember lol. But I'm not always using the right tension so I'm discovering a LOT of locs with small holes. I'm so frustrated but on my next retie I'm going to inspect every loc and fix the holes I find. It's going to really make my retie longer but they ok. I don't want thinning locs later.
Hey girl! I’m seeing these small holes mostly in the super tiny locs, and it is SOOO frustrating. The locs that are on my sides near my ear are where I’m noticing them. I definitely don’t want to lose any locs in the future😩 I appreciate you for stopping by and commenting ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for making this video! I need to start doing the section around my hairline because my loctitian just can seem to be gentle enough in that area. I'm experiencing some breakage.
Hey girl! you're most welcome and yes, you most definitely gotta be gentle around the edges (she needs to take it slow, SHEESH!). Have you ralked to her regarding your concerns? I appreciate you for stopping by and commenting! ❤❤❤
Just looking at the tool going in and out is making me dizzy and you explained clearly but all my brain registered was points, points, points😂,let’s just say am never going to retie my hair as i don’t feel i can.(Though it would send me loads of money as my consultant charges £70 every 5wks,i just might start leaving it till 8weeks!!! What do you think about best timeline to retie?.). More power to your arms Lena.x.
Hey Pat! lol, it really does take some getting used to 😩 and I totally agree regarding saving money, but its soooo convenient to get it retied by your loctician, so I definitely understand why they charge what they do🥰 I appreciate you so much for your continued support ❤️❤️❤️
Hey, Queen! Thank you soooo much! I don't know if I have the patience to become a certified consultant! 🤭🥰 I appreciate your continued support, girl!❤❤❤
Hey girl! Lol, I feel you! It was a struggle. And yep, I'd totally pay for the CONVENIENCE of having my head retied by someone else versus doing it myself! I appreciate you! ❤❤❤

Are you doing a reverse 4point rotation
Hi MissMary! yes, at least that’s what my loctician told me, lol!! I appreciate you!!❤️❤️❤️
I’m really interested in the actual tooth you’re using. Thought I saw 2-3 in a c,Lear or see-thru package. I’m so sorry, but I didn’t see them below.

U did pretty Good Queen
I'm trying! Thank you so much, I appreciate you!!❤❤❤
Do you still do your hair
Hey girl, Nope not yet. Im not exclusively doing self-reties. But I DO plan to start to Self-retie the front half to save on money ❤❤❤

I have no interest in trying to self retie ever! I know I’ll make a mess of it and the aggravation and time would far outweigh any cost savings.
