My goodness this was so straightforward 1000/10 video. Everyone else was making me panic about how the heck I was supposed to learn to interloc is making holes was such a catastrophic occurrence. But your set proves while of course you should do your best not to make them... It's not the end of the world. Jaw unclenched. Thank you :)
Great that’s the way I fix mine but I with the same interlock tool I use for my locs. When you wash or dampen hair you can’t tell where hole was. Not a lot of people show this on RUclips & I think it’s very vital procedure to know if your a diyer. Thanks 😊🇬🇧
Naps Are The New Black We’re told holes are so “bad”& a “no no” it made me super paranoid about doing my self retie. I do try to avoid them obviously but I don’t panic now if I make the odd mistake 😊🇬🇧
Thank you so much for this. Very clear and straight to the point. I got my sisterlocs installed about 7 months ago. I recently started noticing holes in my locs. Truthfully I started panicking and wondered if I need to cut my hair and start all over. But I hesitated because I paid so much money to get it done. Thankfully I’ve found a solution that I can do myself. Again thank you.
I just started my DIY micro locs two months ago and I found some holes! I’ve watched a couple videos but none as simple and straightforward as yours. Thank you!!
New subscriber here! It’s SO refreshing to hear someone speak with knowledge on this subject! Thank you! Please keep dropping these pearls of wisdom!!🙌🏽💖
Thanks for this tip. I twist my own locs (almost 8 years) but interlock my son’s (3 months behind me!), and we started the interlocking almost a year ago. I haven’t noticed any holes (yet), but if I do, I now feel confident to fix them! Thanks for sharing the 422 (loctitians always try to keep it a secret!)
Super helpful! My man has had his locs for 10 years now and they are so long. But recently some parts of his locs near the ends are showing holes just like yours but a lot bigger. I’ve been palm rolling his locs and my own for a year now. So when I saw holes I was so confused! 😂😂. He couldn’t remember if he had ever had his hair interlocked, but now we know for sure. Thanks so much for this! I may do a video on how I repair his locs 🙌🏽✨.
Fatima Manneh yes that is always the goal, but sometimes i honestly forget which direction i ended on when im in the middle of interlocking since i watch Netflix while i do it 😂
Thank you so much for creating this video. I am so excited you did. My daughter has locs as do I and this is going to really help me fix the holes in our locs.
Good question! So if the hole doesnt close after 1 loop through the 2 sides of the hole, then you can repeat it in the same direction and it should close up! The key is going through both sides of the hole, not so much the direction you are coming from
Will they eventually out grow this someone else did mine my first to doing this and I have wholes in every loc at the roots I can't fix it unfortunately I only have one hand
Thanks for the tips sis! What if the holes are further down? I have bra strap length locs. And I currently palm roll but I have some locs that have lower holes. Am I SOL?
Ugh i found a few holes in some of my locs today while I was interlocking. I managed to fix them but I'm now worried if I have some in the back because I just can't see them that well even with my 3-way mirror. I'm going to have to really look hard and see. And my holes were pretty small so getting it through the two sides was a pain on the ass.
I just started my daughter's locks with twists three weeks ago. I see one has a hole closer towards the end. Do you recommend this method or just taking the twist out and starting over?
I went to a "loctician" because I was having trouble getting my hair to lock at the roots and not unravel every time I washed my hair. She suggested interlocking, but now I have holes at almost every single lock! My fault for not researching that this was even a possibility. Now what do I do? Lol.
How do you go about unlocking an interlock? I've unlocked other interlocks but so far there's this one pesky one that I can't unlock I've been trying to for 2 to 3 hours.
I haven't tried to unlock them. The interlocked portions are sort of like braids. You might just need to use alot of conditioner and slowly work to untangle your hair.
Hi. I just interlocked my hair for the 1st time. I'm scared I've interlocked too tight. Lol it's hard to sleep. Is this going to make the new growth that I've re-tightened look tigher than the loc strand overtime? I swear I'll be more cautious next time😅
Finally!!!! A positive, simple video on how to fix them. Love your locs!!!
Jennifer Robinson thank you!

Yes! I promise it will be okay haha. 5 years later and my locs are healthy with no holes :)

Yep! I freaked out the first time I created a hole in my loc, I really thought that it was permanent lol.

Shouldn’t they address holes when you get your reties? How often do you get them?
Girl you just saved my life! I was in such a panic!
lol glad I could help!
Thank you!! I just started my microlocks two months ago and have holes in a few of them. I can fix them myself!!

Myricia La’Rease awesome! Glad this was helpful ☺️
Thank you for this! I haven’t started my loc journey yet but holes in the locs was something I was worried about.
Nadine Perez yep fixing holes is super easy. Everyone with locs should definitely get comfortable doing it!
Omg that helped a lot I thought I was going to have to take down the entire loc
yay! I'm glad it helped ☺️
By far the best hole repair correction with demonstrated simple visual!!! My fingers tend to cover the demonstration! Smiling My thanks Sister Queen!
Yep same I fixed some holes also I just try to make sure I don’t create anymore now
Fatima Manneh yes that is always the goal, but sometimes i honestly forget which direction i ended on when im in the middle of interlocking since i watch Netflix while i do it 😂
Thank you! Going thru my hair and found a few holes. Quick and easy!

Awesome 👏🏾 tip Thanks 👍🏾✌🏽
of course
Thanks for this. I was just wondering if I'm doing 2 point rotation do I go in the same direction or like you would a two point

They look really nice!
thank you :)
Naps Are The New Black you’re welcome!! 😃
This was an excellent explanation/tutorial. Thank you!
Ava Ness glad it was helpful 🖤🖤
Will they eventually out grow this someone else did mine my first to doing this and I have wholes in every loc at the roots I can't fix it unfortunately I only have one hand
Thank you!! This vídeo help me sooo much
Thanks for the tips sis! What if the holes are further down? I have bra strap length locs. And I currently palm roll but I have some locs that have lower holes. Am I SOL?
Zak In Action nope! You can fix them the exact same way, i just dont have holes further down so I couldn’t demonstrate that 🖤
Thank you very much this my 1at time locking my hair
Thank you! I did my first retie and I’m sure more than half will have holes 😢
Very nice.... you’re good with that technique. I have to be in the mirror to fix a hole or I’ll end up creating another one😅
Crystal Reyes dont let this video fool you, i still double check to make sure its right before pulling all the way through 😂
Beautiful!!
How many locs do you have?
Thank you! My 8 month update goes over how many locs I have and the size of my parts
Can you attach a picture of the small crochet needle? I searched amazon and so many popped up I want to get the correct one. Please
What if the hole is to small for the hair?
if it is super small it may close on its own over time
Great tip! thank you
You bet!

I have sisterlocks and I noticed I have quite a few I'm hoping my person can fix it but do u know why u get holes in them
I just started my daughter's locks with twists three weeks ago. I see one has a hole closer towards the end. Do you recommend this method or just taking the twist out and starting over?
I would actually wait to see if it closes on its own. That hole is caused by a gap in the twist, those tend to smooth out over time!
Thanks for this 🥰

I wish you could do mine 😪
Do you have the link or know size of needle?
Very informative
OMG! Thanks!!

hello, did you use a size chart for your start?
hulda desrosiers nope! I just free handed
Thank you
Very cool!
Can they loc up tho?
Thank youuuu
What if the hole is in the middle of a loc? 😅
you can do the same thing in the middle!
Why do the holes develop?
improper interlocking technique! Ive always done my hair myself and naturally I made alot of mistakes in the beginning.
I thought I was going to have to start over
Hi. I just interlocked my hair for the 1st time. I'm scared I've interlocked too tight. Lol it's hard to sleep.
Is this going to make the new growth that I've re-tightened look tigher than the loc strand overtime?
I swear I'll be more cautious next time😅
making them too tight just once, or a few times even is not horrible. Just try not to do it again :)
Thank you so much 🙂
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for this video.

Thanks so much
thank you!
