Hello Jibran! Great video on the topic and a eye opener for many viewers! I myself am an expat living in Germany and I've seen all kinds of things in my almost 9 years of working and over 11 years of living in Germany. Still going strong after all the ups and downs. I'd be happy to contribute to your website. Just let me know. Cheers!
gosh, i came to germany about a year ago for my bachelors and haven't really entered the work force just yet but watching these stories unfold really gives me the shiver. But either way, great video - looking forward for the next video!
Hope you will find a new opportunity soon. Thanks for the short and very informative video with valuable tips. Looking forward to detailed video about legal insurance (if possible also include some known insurance brands that you can recommend)
When somebody gives u verbal commitment, u also agree verbally. Important rule is termination doesn't hold good until u physically ink the acceptance. Even if u send Ok on email, it is not accepted in court. U got to sign with pen and counter sign by HR. Secondly, am sure u have done it. But if not, register immediately in agentur fur arbiet.... apply for a voucher and do language training in sprachschule or do some boot camp. Based on ur salary, u will get partial or full funding. Depending on years u stayed and paid taxes, u can even claim social benefit of getting 70 percent of last drawn income for 6 months to a year... social security is amazing. Also u could have forced rehire because in Germany they cant give u rubbish work forcing ubti quit... works council is amazingly strong. But now also , if not done already, apply for an exception to freelance
thanks man. Can you elaborate this 70% rule or share some sources unfortunately I didn’t have work council in my company 3.)exceptions to freelance. Are you talking about nebenerwerb or register as freelancer ?
@DesiInWonderland ... I shared url. But best to register as unemployed in agentur fur arbiet or job agency... since u got severance, there is a 12 week cool off period. After that u will get 67 percent of last drawn salary. Duration is decided by the job agent. Also.... ur medical insurance to tk is also paid.
@itsmejohnson0891 in Germany, I have not seen laws not enforced. The hard reality anywhere is, employer will get what they want finally. But one cannot be dismissed without fairness in Germany.... Life is miserable when u get an Indian manager even if u have a German contract because some Indian managers are mostly crooked guys. german law protect against even those miserable guys. So give some example when u say laws are not enforced
I also work as an extern for a company of the VW-Konzern. The management really lost their mind in this crisis. The way they treat us is insane. My boss forced me to visit the office for 3 weeks straight and removed my home office right. While all the team is allowed to do home office. It was an ego thing because i like to work at home office.
So sorry to hear about your situation Jibran :( I hope you find a suitable job ASAP, till then wish you all the best! Also, I dont have legal insurance, ill wait eagerly for the video regarding cost benefit analysis of legal insurance vs hiring lawyer
Actually as an unemployed employee who was fired with a decent severance package one is better off financially than working full time even if one cannot find a job for the next 6 months . Enjoy the free time and unskill for your next job.
That sounds like Alten. 🤣🤣, Got terminated end of October as they said they dont have budget and cant find another project for me. Now sued them. Not for the money, but my Einburgerung is going on, and a lawyer said a Kundigunschutzklage will support me on the einburgerung process from not getting stalled or rejected.
I have NRV but I would suggest that contact out.liveingermany.de/neodirect here you can book an appointment and can get a offer based on your needs . this Insurance broker suggested me this based on my needs
last year I switched from Getsafe to another one I got to know some points from Getsafe which is not ideal. I will soon make a video that why I switched from Getsafe legal insurance
Did you work on a collective agreement for Labors? Or is there a work council where you worked? Curious to know if you approached them and what they told you
Does 1 month salary as severence mean 1 + notice period? E.g. If my notice period is 2 months and i get 1 month severance upon termination, so that would total of 3 months salary or just 1 month?
Yes! During notice period you’ll be put on garden leave mostly and continue to get monthly salary until your notice period is over or in other words: contract comes to an end. Severance is always the last payment the employer makes so in your case it could come with 2nd month salary.
All the best My friend’s company has also mentioned that they will fire him in 3 months and when he asked about severance packaged they said nothing. Can you suggest what should he do, should he wait for the company to first fire him and then appeal in court?
Good to hear that you had some relief. Why don't you mention the Insurance company name and type here itself? Neodirect that I could see. ARAG is a good one but what was covered in your case and what could have been added.
I have NRV, I didn't want to endorse them instead I want to give credit to my insurance broker because he recommended this one to me. as they have good customer service and coverage
how much severence did you get at the end. I am in the same situation and negotiating the severence right now. What is the good settlement (1 month gross, 1.5 month gross or 2 month gross). my company is also not agreeing on 2 month gross
I have NRV, but as according to my scenario. My insurance broker suggested me this. If you want you can book a free consultation with him out.liveingermany.de/neodirect Best part is that he can give you suggestion how to get the least waiting period in legal insurance.
Well same thing happened to me, I mean I was kicked on last day of my Probezeit. I am working in medical field and I am not complaining about money but I didn't get my documents which I need for the exam which I would be giving after I am done with my post graduation. Can one have a Fachrechtsanwalt for that matter with this insurance too?
buddy as this is a very specific case I would suggest free consultation with the insurance broker out.liveingermany.de/neodirect he can guide better and can tell you if it is covered or not
Hi, I got termination letter on the last week of probation. The letter mentions my contract ends after next 2 months. So essentially, 6 months probation + 2 months. Reason given was they needed someone with more experience. Is this fair and valid?
Ah you mean a Time work agency? They are always shady. Stay away from them. Allways go to the companies directly. They always come with this "this is how you get a foot into the door" but that is BS. It is very unlikely to get into a company that way.
Good luck. I just find 2 salaries too few for the situation they put yourself in. You were collaborative and almost got screwed, while they had way more context around the situation and probably tried to fooled you in order to get a "free/cheap fire".
Goo that you went for legal ways but i still think you settled for much less. I heard of guys who got like 6 7 months of salarie for being laid off without reason.
Well I know but in this case I trusted the lawyer and the problem is that I was not that old. People who have been working in the company for more than 5 years. Those poeple are really hard to fire.
Usually a layoff you should accept a severance package of This is basic : Number of Years (as severance round up) + 3 months termination salary which is always required after probation. But this can be doubled (the number of years) if you had any medical issues or there was some unfair things which caused mental steerup. The market seems to be full of this now :(. Dear Shahid, I’m sure you’ve considered that your new employer might come across this video since it’s linked to your name. With that in mind, it’s not ideal to refer to your former company using terms like "stupid employer" (as shown in your thumbnail). To protect your chances of securing and maintaining decent employment, I strongly suggest you take down this video from RUclips. Best regards,
@DesiInWonderland no dude it's not a good idea... Germans are understanding and I am telling you these people are not all but mostly they don't take things personally. You have to communicate better with them and break the deal.. they know the rules and they also play according to rules.
i didn't get it. you were saying it is nice to have legal insurance then you are against it ? I explained the whole story and i have asked my department head for severance he said we don't have any project we can't give you severance. we are giving you the next job which also didn't happen. When you are dealing with the company then you need legal advise and person in between because otherwise they can crush you.

Doesn't severence have disadvantages as well? I heard your ALG 1 is blocked for 3 months due to severence?
As per my knowledge. this depends on the type of termination. If you took a volunteer package then there could be a delay in the ALG1
That sounds like Alten. 🤣🤣, Got terminated end of October as they said they dont have budget and cant find another project for me. Now sued them. how long is he working in that company ?
if his company has a work council then involve then if they still didn’t give him any severance then contact the lawyer
does the legal insurance help in firing during probezeit also?
as per my information, Reason is not required when somebody is fired during the probezeit.
@DesiInWonderland yeah that's what i am also familar with
