    The reason I love records like these is its something so simple, yet so incredibly difficult. The task is simply to lift the object. Anyone can attempt to try it. People have been lifting things since the dawn of time. And yet, this is the first time in human history that someone has actually lifted the 500kg. The biggest amount ever lifted. Incredbile.

    Watching this always makes me tear up a little. After hearing his interview about the lift, he said in order to move the weight he needed his adrenaline to spike dramatically. Rather than inject himself, he talked about going to a hypnotist and a therapist to help him mentally trigger his body to produce the needed adrenaline. He said he imagined horrible things happening to his children and wife just prior to the lift to induce that anger and rage. The thought of a man so desperately trying to save his family from something and being able to lift 500kg because of it always gets me.

    For me it's one of the best feelings in the world. When you go for that new PR, a weight you couldn't comprehend when you first started deadlifts. You've braced, pushed and the weight actually moves... now it's passed the knees and you know it's happening... your legs start to shake, you're not sure if it's the pressure your body is under or from the pure adrenaline rushing through your body... before you have time to think the weight is up, you're fully locked, standing tall... it feels like you're holding nothing after what you're body has just been through... right there... before you even begin to think about lowering the weight... absolute euphoria. The numbers on the plates don't matter, it's all about you, your record, your experience, your progression. We can only imagine the buzz Eddie felt holding what was believed to be an impossible weight at that point and looking out at the crowd cheering in disbelief at what they're witnessing. Absolutely mental.

    An old guy in the gym once told me a great truth: lifting weight is not about fatigue, it's about pain

    • @user-ko1hi1fy9z
      @user-ko1hi1fy9z 4 года назад +9

      Sounds like bullshit to me.
      The trick is ( take this with a grain of salt ) lifting enough to get some fatigue but not overdo yourself and then do it once more, later that day. So, like if you train only at let's say 70% of what you can do you can train again alter that day without losing gains because your muscles aren't destroyed like most do when they exercise. ( I am just a newbie, but I like to listen/reading about what great strength athletes from many different sports like arm wrestling, bodybuilding, sumo and strongman of course to make a clear understanding of how to become stronger not bigger if you will see the bigger picture of how to become stronger and not bigger then you can also get bigger if you want to).
      P.S. I included bodybuilding and sumo that focuses on just getting bigger and heavier because knowing each side of the coin, lifts all lies about the other side to the surface.
      Please don't shit on me for saying this I just want to seem cool :P

      @@LegendInThaMakin bruh when are u fuckers going to understand that the previous world record was ALSO Eddie's and he literally jumped 35 kgs in 1 year, weights have always increased over the years, the record being around 410 10 years ago. Thor took 4 years to catch up and then lifts just 1kg more, and he is more physically gifted than eddie, Thor did not break his or Eddie's record by 30 kg AND he can do much more AND its 4 years after, thats like 30 kg increase overtime. If eddie was like thor, not having children and responsibilities and he was going to keep pushing his already dying body, he'd get to 600 by now, but he won't live to see his kids get married. He ain't as tall and strong as thor, but his sheer fucking willpower makes thor and the others look weak, because they will not do what he has done to achieve their lifts, they always did it the easier safer way then they fucking try to shut eddie down 4 FUCKING YEARS after the record.
