You forgot to count the LV Seoul mini Pochette! You have saved even more! Thanks for sharing! I agree with you that sometimes we are happier having less!
Great video and lovely topic - thanks for sharing, and I commend your restraint! Your vids are always a great reminder to practice gratitude and intention.
Also commenting to say, I love whenever you show your Celine Classic bag - I couldn't be more excited for her to launch her namesake brand as well! Seeing yours definitely scratched a Phoebe itch - lots of people have warmed up to Hedi Slimane (myself included), but seeing your box bag was satisfying in a way I didn't know I needed LOL
Aw thank you! I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. I know it’s rare to see videos like this especially in the luxury RUclips community. We’re more accustomed to unboxings and reviews, but I’m thankful that I can share this side of who I am as well.
I’ve got to agree with everyone in the comments, excellent video! Great way to emphasize how we can enjoy luxury in a way that’s reasonable, well thought out and works with our needs. Slower consumption I guess. It’s not about restricting ourselves but making smart decisions and not jumping on every new thing that comes out. Which is what I’m working towards mastering but a work in progress.
What a great video! Love your thought process behind these decisions! Totally agree that the Dior bag shape is "interesting" - it reminds me of a wine bota bag 🫢. Also totally agree with you on Phoebe Philo classics!!
Love the topic of this video! I’m trying to be better about admiring beautiful items without wanting them all, especially when they don’t fit into my current lifestyle.
Great video as always. I think the decisions are realistic and good choices. I have the same LV speedy bags in the same sizes. I thought about getting rid of the bigger one but I like using it for the same reason you kept yours. I have been doing a closet clean out, trying to minimize to what I actually need. I have been holding onto a few pieces to pass on to my daughter. If she ends up not using them in the future, she can sell them and use the money for herself.
The larger speedy is a keeper, I agree. It serves its purpose. And I hear you on holding a few pieces for your daughter! I think I would’ve cleaned out a lot more but I keep thinking, maybe my daughter will enjoy them later. We’ll see! Thanks for watching! ❤
2023 is my year of JOMO!! My elderly mother is moving in with us, so all my extra funds are going into the renovation and I love it ❤❤ Thank you for sharing all your reasons!
Nice video! I’ve done this also. If I ever second guess myself on an item, I take a few days or weeks to think about it. Most times I end up passing and I’m happier for it!
@@hellocatwalkcity I even write notes about why it’s a no or shady comments to myself about why not. Example- I want/wanted (it’s in my maybes) a green CF. the note- too pricey, let it go, you already have a green bag, be realistic girl. Will you use it.
Great video. Amazing the amount you didn’t spend on the items. I will be trying again this year to practice JOMO. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Great video all around, doll. Although... I've never seen that Lady D-Joy before, and I don't know if I could have walked away from it. It is gorgeous!! Happy New Year!!!❤️
I ask myself the same every time I see a new pouch or cosmetic bag that I want to add to my collection! 😅 I know my mini pochette is my tried and true pouch of all time!
My JOMO is to spend minimum time browsing through social media or online shopping. What I don’t know doesn’t hurt me, hence no FOMO either… Watching your video, I didn’t know so many new bags coming out. Glad you said NO…nothing in particular caught my eyes either lol Often we’re all looking to fill the gap in our collection, often, they don’t add any values, but taking up space & put holes in our wallets… Contentment is a real way to happiness 💕
The handbag maker for Queen Elizabeth charges in general less than all of the major fashion houses at this point. That should tell the every day buyer they are not playing fair.
My Celine Boston is really light but it’s the current version and the mini size (holds all my essentials including an iPhone 12 Pro Max). Lovely Bandolier!
Great idea! I never heard of JOMO before and it’s something I could practice. Thanks for including your holiday set makeup bags. I wasn’t able to obtain the chanel ones :( but I am loving my Dior GWP bags. they’re so chic and we’re freeeeee. I have to channel some a Joy of Missing Out for the Chanel tweed sets because they were impossible to track down and I’m not going to pay more than retail. I also have the lv toiletries 26. My 5 year old told me I ought to wear it out as a purse since I have a nice chain strap and insert for it. He styled me lol. It’s a fun little bag, but holds so little as a purse. I’m still in my giant bag era. So gonna practice JOMO over chic little bags and clutchies. :)
When I travel domestically by car I use my LV Alize 24 and my LV CarryAlls along with my LV Neverfull and my Tumi suitcases. When I travel by plane especially internationally I always use my Tumi pieces. No question. I’ve seen people picking up checked pieces from plane trips on a carousel for LV luggage and it makes me cringe 😬
being picky is better bcos that's kinda stopping you from purchasing although it's very little details you dislike. I had past experience like this and it save me tons!
I think those were all good passes. I don't think any of those will be better than what you already have. I am eyeing a Celine Triomphe but i have decided to keep my bags at a fixed number. So no buy for now until I get to sell one.
@@hellocatwalkcity After reading the Paradox of Choice, I am now down to six: 1 work bag, 2 crossbody, 1 handheld, 2 evening. I have limited space and realized too many choices actually complicated my life.
Something that makes me happier than shopping is actually saving! I am so thrilled to get even a 5% discount on my purchase lol Some things on my JOMO list are the 1. Dior cardholder (I was thinking of making it like the chanel mini wallet chain thing as a pop of monogram because I found a really nice convert kit but ultimately thought I want it for purely aesthetic reasons, I got a preloved tiffany necklace instead lol) 2. LV recto verso card holder (I always loved this not thrilled with its current price. I’m also in mini bag phase and discovered that a snap cardholder is too fat for my mini bags, a plain zipped is much more space efficient) 3. LV nano speedy (so cute but so expensive. I am now waiting on the Songmont CNY sale if there is one and getting a Mini Song instead. Equally cute though not screaming luxury I’ve decided I’ll just get an LV pochette once wear out my Coach Nolita) 4. Celine Pico Belt Bag (super love the look but decided not to buy because it does not have even an internal slip pocket and I know I’d be frustrated with that) 5. Polene Beri Bag in Camel (I actually bought this but resold immediately because I was not happy with the color, I was originally apprehensive with the camel shade because the website and people’s photos don’t m atch… should’ve gone with my gut) 6. Mulberry Darley Small (I wanted this as alternative to the Chanel WOC but I found a really good sale for a Kate Spade version and got that instead to try out the style. I realized that the snap closure annoys me so if I’m buying a Chanel WOC, I’ll definitely hunt for one with a turnlock closure. If I bought the Mulberry I know I’d still want the Chanel, and if I didn’t buy the Kate Spade, I wouldn’t know that I hated the snap closure lol)
@Katrina Pineda the Chanel pearl crush woc and the trendy cc woc as well as the golden class woc I think it’s called, all have turn lock closures. As well as the reissue woc. I agree I don’t like the snap closure either. This new magnetic one pops open sooo easily. I got the pearl crush woc as I saw one in a gorgeous blue that I couldn’t resist and the pearl crush style has the adjustable chain which is perfect for my 5’2 petite frame.
Wow, love your list of JOMO!! 👏 As for the Chanel WOC, I have one with the original snap button closure and another with the updated magnetic closure. I find the magnetic one easier to use but don’t mind either way. I’m glad you were able to test out the Kate Spade one! That’s a great way to try something without over committing! 👍
Since you ended up buying a different Deauville, Boston bag, and clutch, then you didn’t save all the money from the items you originally intended to purchase. In fact, you probably ended up spending more on the Deauville you added to your collection.
I can tell you’re a details person like me! I actually did factor that in - and if I’m honest with myself, I think if I bought the Celine Boston bag, I would’ve realized in the end that I still really wanted the Speedy. If I play it out, I can imagine that I would’ve given the Boston bag to my mom and then would’ve wound up buying the Speedy in London anyway. So in my mind, by walking away from the Celine, I saved $ there. As for the clutch, there was about a $600 savings between the YSL and the one I got, so I added that in + tax. That was a true savings. And the Deauville, if I had bought the first one I saw without the handles, I have a feeling I would’ve been tempted to sell it as soon as I saw the newer version with the top handles. That would’ve meant I probably lost money on the first Deauville sale and paid additional for the 2nd. So all in all, I still count that decision as a savings. Plus, another viewer reminded me I also walked away from the LV Seoul mini pochette from the Christmas Animation, which was about another $1000 savings.
@@hellocatwalkcity gotcha! I should have known that you factored everything in because it’s obvious that details and accuracy matter to you (given your propensity to deep dive and create spreadsheets 😊)
