I've watched the Carson show where Rickles came on unannounced when Johnny was interviewing Sinatra. It was amazing that as soon as Rickles came out, you can see Sinatra just cracking up in the background. Sinatra LOVED Rickles - he would laugh constantly at Rickles.
Rickles was terrific and knew how to get along with Carson who was notoriously “difficult “ to deal with. He certainly achieved a tremendous career and made a lot of people laugh for decades.

I had the honor of witnessing Don in Vegas in 2001 or so. So funny. One guy from our group got called up on the stage with Don. I almost peed my pants from that stint. The guy was great too..deadpanned the whole match. So funny.
I understand why some people don’t like Rickles’ humor. But it reminds me of my and my good friends roasting the hell out of each other. It’s all out of love.
I remember watching Lou Brock stealing bases in old Busch Stadium when I was a kid. The place was electric when he got on base and would erupt when he would steal second. Great memories. Thank you Lou. God bless.

Rickles was in a rehearsal for a Bob Hope special once and came over to the Tonight Show in a sweatshirt and dungarees. After the applause died down, he told Carson, "I'm over there with Bob Hope. I'm helpin' the man move his furniture! He's got a show and there's a writer's strike on and Bob Hope's walkin' around the halls goin', "Help me, help me!' "

Johnny Carson had the best late night TV show in American history, especially when Don Rickles was a guest.

Me and my brother would try and watch this show every night !! It was the best of times ...... But we never knew it !!
I sure agree with that!

Rickles, the godfather of comedy. A major icon and ground breaking comedian. LOVED him.
The godfather of comedy? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's a stupid comment.
Unfortunately, he broke the ground and there isn't anyone who even came remotely close after him.
