    My orientation was sketchy at the end. Never had to get instructions on how to do anything because I already had it down pack. First couple of days people were still looking at the instructions for how to pre trip, coupling and uncoupling but I did it all from memory. Every instructor told me I was doing good. 3 days before graduation and did my final evaluation and passed. 2 days before I graduate the lead instructor pulls me to the side to do a random evaluation. Did everything I usually do and when I was finished parking the truck he tells me that my backing was trash and that I was just doing anything to get it in. I literally got it in, the first time with no pull ups. He tells another guy to back the same truck up but he gave him a space with no barrier blocking him and he couldn't get it in so the instructor guided him in. He told me my backing needs work so I will be backing all day my last day. Backed the entire day and every time he had an issue with how I got it in. Owe you backing in on your blind side. I told him I got out and knew exactly where my trailer would be when I back straight. I even marked to him the exact spot I would be when I get straight and it was dead on. After lunch they pull me into the office and say that I have to leave because my backing is dangerous. I knew they were full of crap because a dude who was doing his training with a TE literally hit a trailer when he was doing his orientation and they passed him but my backing is dangerous 😑.felt like the lead instructor was just trying to get me out because he literally never evaluated anyone or do anything with the other students but out of nowhere he decides to reevaluate me and since he couldn't find anything on the driving, pre trip, coupling or uncoupling he just chose my backing because I didn't do it his way

    I don't recommend it as their entire pay plan has changed and now they're flat rate rather than percentage of the load if your owner operator leasing on. If you're a company driver that's up to you. Me myself, I would never join them as a company driver. There's many other companies out there that treat you better and pay you better. Do your research!

      On the road training is 7 days but it’s possible that you may get back a day early or after that’s if everything went well , also when you come back they will assign you a truck to route you home . If you live in the same state where the orientation is done you should be able to go home and come back to get your truck. Good luck and be safe.

    • @truckingwithjl7826
      @truckingwithjl7826  3 года назад +3

      The truth is it depends on what works for you. I said it’s not the best because I don’t want to sell a "dream" to nobody. Every company is going to have problems. Especially if they're a mega carrier to many hands in the cookie jar. For example, I’m here 2.5 years and there are people that been here for over 20 years. So, for now, Schneider been good for me but I do have other things in mind - but time will tell. I can’t really say which company is best. Again, it all depends where you live and what type of work you’re going to do. Scheider has different kinds of work. Thanks for the comment be safe and good luck out there...
