@@user-hl2uc5kj1e I can't speak about the food as i had only tried their beef horfun so far 😅 but i think their fish and calamari are very good (based on reviews). that return leg is stressful... choppy waters, head wind... is there some regulation to make yourself more visible to vessels, like wearing bright colours or having blinkers on? need to carry passport (in case you drift too far)?
Thanks for watching. You raised very good questions! I am not aware of regulations to make oneself more visible for vessels, but for safety reason, it is in the best interest of every paddler to do that. Agreed that the return leg was more stressful, this cross channel route is really not for beginner paddlers. I made it appeared very scary in the video to deter beginners from attempting it 🤣. I advise paddlers to wear personal floating device (PFD) and leg leash every time they are out in the water just in case. PFD is usually very visible. Personally, i don't bring passport, but that's an interesting point, maybe i should do that going forward, haha.

Agreed, and each time when one set foot on water, the conditions (tide, wave, wind, weather) are always different, making it a whole new experience every time.
Thanks for watching 🤝 Yes, there is always a remote risk of crocs, but i take comfort that Ubin side should be safe as there are many kayakers paddling on the water there everyday. Have a good day.
Thanks for watching, and the comments 🤝 I will be releasing a new video either tomorrow or Saturday. It's about another exciting adventure, I will also be doing a giveaway. So please stay tuned! 😊
Been there once, it was beautiful and " nice " experience ... I might have enjoy more if I wasn't aquaphobia. It was stressful and full of anxiety for me ( at a start ) and what make it worst was the water was so choppy then
Yeah, first time was always very nervous😅. I had since crossed the same channel alone many times, still slightly nervous every time, but kind of used to it already.
Thanks for watching. That is a very good question! It would be dangerous, but probably won't happen to me as i have done longer distance in more adverse water condition than this before, so i was rather confident physically... only need to watch out for passing vessels, and made sure that I didn't get in their way.
Thanks for watching and the compliments! Please consider subscribing if you have not already so that you will not miss any future contents from my channel. Have a good day, cheers!
Can I ask when u key in the coordinates the goggle will guide u there? How much was the rental of the kayak? How much was the meal? Guess what I like most? It's the free parking! Hahaha. No summon nor gantry.
Haha, i like your questions! The meal costs me $12.50 ($6.50 for the beef hor fun, and $6 for the coconut). I owned the SUP board, so no rental paid. I think the market rental rate is about $20 - $30 an hour. I didn't use GPS to guide me there, as the restaurant is almost visible from Pasir Ris, i was guided by a very general sense of direction to travel there. Have you tried SUP before? If negative, i would encourage you to try it, it is super fun!
@@pipi691 My SUP is inflatable. So i will deflate it after use, fold, store it inside a carrying bag, and bring it home. It is very convenient, easier to carry and use compared to kayak.
@@pipi691 The food is kinda average, haha, but i think their seafood should be good ( didn't try it on my return trip though, but fresh seafood is always good even if one's culinary skill is average). Thanks for watching, you raised a very good question! 😄🤝 I read Google map for a general direction the night before. As the distance to the kelong is about 2km+ with clear line of sight, i could see the kelongs from the beach where i launched (not quite clear, but can tell it is around there). With Pulau Ubin always in the backdrop, i feel very safe that i won't be lost in the sea. Also with my prior practise, i know it will take me roughly 25 to 40 minutes to reach there (depending on wind and water condition). Hope it clarifies. Cheers and have a good day!
@@yeokimsong I normally park my car at Carpark F of Pasir Ris Beach (free) then walk down to the beach, and launch it at the beach next to the Kayak shop. I normally SUPing on Saturday at Sembawang, not Pasir Ris.
How many "stars" do you need to be allowed to do that? Paddling from Pasir Ris/Pulau Ubin/Kelongs/Smith Marine, crossing that channel and back? Got inspired to paddle again! :)
I think there is no official requirement, but one has to do it at his/her own risk. My thinking is the paddler must at least have some experience in paddling on choppy water and possesses safety knowledge, know how to deal with situation where the SUP board capsized, know how to check weather conditions, how to increase chances of being visible to bigger vessels etc.
Thanks for watching and the kind comments! Please consider subscribing so that you will not miss any future contents from my channel. That will make my day, cheers!
Thanks for watching. Yes, it would be dangerous paddling in thunderstorm. Therefore checking weather forecast properly before hitting water is very important.
Yes, that's correct, that's the way to get there. You may call the restaurant, and they will arrange it for you. When it comes to payment for the boat fare, you pay the boatman directly.
I saw a lot of people fishing there (Pasir Ris Beach side) in the morning, but not sure about at night though. I also saw ppl fishing at Pulau Ubin, very close to the restaurant.
Not at all, you raised a good question! You can buy it from Winson, he is the local distributor of Red Paddle Co product. You can contact him on 9636 4606. Or message him via facebook.com/oaalsg/ Hope it helps.
Thanks for watching 😄🤝🤝🤝 Read your question on my other video, i will reply you here (that video got some issues, i can't share it anymore). Which means I had to paddle with maximum effort again! 😄
@@AlleyCat888 haha! so funny replying from here. ohh i see, seemed scary tho. the tides seem to be choppier and choppier. anyway, maybe you could talk about haunted stories in pulau ubin? pretty sure there’s a lot 🤣 the last time i went kayaking there, there was a doll floating around the shores 😶😶
@@bellel8853 Could it be from the German girl? That sounds scary! 😅 Always wanted to camp overnight at Ubin, but havent got the chance or find the right kakis yet.
I'm so shocked to see this in singapore! did u have to make any prior arrangements to eat at the restaurant (because I saw their website saying that it's a must to book a few days in advance)? also is it viable for beginner kayakers to kayak there? want to go but the ferry is so expensive
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, the restaurant encourages us to make prior reservation to avoid disappointment, as their seating capacity is 60 (not sure whether it is lesser now due to covid). This route is not for beginner kayaker, it is advisable to go in an organised group like the one shown towards the end of my video. If i am not mistaken, there are many such kayakers and organised groups. Hope it clarifies, have fun!
The $100 boat fare is for a round trip, max 12 person. If you can get 12 ppl to go together, average cost is $8.33. But need to check with them whether they can still take 12 per boat given the current situation.
Thanks for watching. You can basically kayak to any Singapore islands, no need to inform coast guard, with a big caveat that you are doing it at your own risk. Pulau Ubin still relatively easier. It is very challenging to kayak to the islands in the south of Singapore.
Thanks for pointing that out, it is amazing how powerful the AI is nowadays. I just found out that RUclips could also track how many ppl watched my video via mobile phone, computer, TV, tablet, game console respectively... and mine is not even a big channel.
Yes, my friend Winson (details in Description) runs SUP touring business, bringing people to locations like Sg Simpang and Pulau Ubin, he may also expand it to other new locations. Definitely check him out 😄🤝 He is featured in my other video, see link below: ruclips.net/video/pZuj1LQKmFQ/видео.html
Yes, you may call them for reservation at 9792 7609. They will arrange bumboat for you, you pay the boatman directly. $100 per boat return trip, can fetch max 12ppl, but not sure whether still the same price and capacity during covid. Better confirm with them, hope it helps. Cheers!

Thanks for watching, and subscribing! 😄🤝Indeed, this restaurant had kept a very low profile and probably lacks marketing/ promotion effort, when I first saw it (on Google map), I was very surprised too!
@@AlleyCat888 yeah its such a rare gem.. I love exploring rare places like these.. how was the food though? Also how can I go about trying SUP eh?
@@user-hl2uc5kj1e I can't speak about the food as i had only tried their beef horfun so far 😅 but i think their fish and calamari are very good (based on reviews). For SUP, I would recommend that you contact my friend Winson (see Description for his contact details), he provides SUP lesson, rental and also organised trip to Sungei Simpang/Ubin, check out my video titled "This can't be Singapore" for a glimpse of what is it like SUPing there.
As you are young, I think you can try going to Sg Simpang with him on your first lesson, it will take about 3 hours but absolutely worth it.
Once you are more comfortable and committed, you may consider buying SUP board from him, or from Decathlon. Hope it helps, enjoy SUPing!!
I’ve tried before,$530 for 4 people bro...😓
Thanks I didnt know there is floating restaurant :) Looking forward for more adventure
Thanks for watching. Have a great evening 😄
that return leg is stressful... choppy waters, head wind... is there some regulation to make yourself more visible to vessels, like wearing bright colours or having blinkers on? need to carry passport (in case you drift too far)?
Love your videos!
Thanks for watching 🤝 I will be releasing a new video tonight at 8pm, it is about another exciting adventure, don't miss it as i think you will love it! 😄
How do I rent a kayak to paddle there ? How much would such a rental cost ?
Sorry i missed your msg earlier. I think it is about $15 per hour. Rent from Ohana at Pasir Ris Beach.

Hey. Sorry for the stupid question. Are the risk of crocodiles. Because there are many at sungai buloh right
Thanks for watching 🤝 Yes, there is always a remote risk of crocs, but i take comfort that Ubin side should be safe as there are many kayakers paddling on the water there everyday. Have a good day.
Your video are all very interesting . I like it

Been there once, it was beautiful and " nice " experience ... I might have enjoy more if I wasn't aquaphobia. It was stressful and full of anxiety for me ( at a start ) and what make it worst was the water was so choppy then
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. Agreed, at times, the water can be very choppy. But the trip was probably still with it? 😊
Very dangerous adventure but that's what made it fun
Yeah, first time was always very nervous😅. I had since crossed the same channel alone many times, still slightly nervous every time, but kind of used to it already.
Wonder how this restaurant is going to survive HA and CB. How many will canoe there nor take ferry to tabao.
They are probably temporarily closed now... maybe i should SUP there to check it out
Check out my latest video

Good job...but rather risky. What would you have done if you ran out of energy and stamina fighting the headwinds on your way back? Just wondering.
Thanks for watching. That is a very good question! It would be dangerous, but probably won't happen to me as i have done longer distance in more adverse water condition than this before, so i was rather confident physically... only need to watch out for passing vessels, and made sure that I didn't get in their way.
Did you check if they offer food panda or grab food?Thinking of ordering beef horfun
Hahaha, they probably need to use drones to deliver it 🤣

@@AlleyCat888 my balancing is kind a terrible tho... Hehe was the food nice? How much was the sup?have u ever tot of modding your sup?
@@AlleyCat888 I nv tried sup before.. u kept the sup at the beach or u bring from home?
@@pipi691 My SUP is inflatable. So i will deflate it after use, fold, store it inside a carrying bag, and bring it home. It is very convenient, easier to carry and use compared to kayak.
@@pipi691 The food is kinda average, haha, but i think their seafood should be good ( didn't try it on my return trip though, but fresh seafood is always good even if one's culinary skill is average). The SUP board cost abt $1k+, always thinking about attaching an electric propeller to it but at the end given up due to licensing requirement.

Just wondering any permit required for crossing water borders? U made it seemed so effortlessly
Thanks for watching😄. No permit required as I was still within Singapore water throughout the entire journey. The water was very calm in the morning, so it was quite easy. Coming back was tougher, but still manageable.
Do you need a permit to dock at the restruant?
No need, it is totally unmanned and the restaurant doesn't seem to care 😄
Nice video. Just to clarify, those are floating fish farms you paddled past, they're not called kelongs. There're no more kelongs in Singapore water.
Ok...
Thank you sir this is fun
Thanks for watching, I am happy that you enjoyed it. Have a good evening 😄🤝
Nice adventure.. Is that legal to do that in singapore? How I really miss the pasir ris.
Yes, it is legal. However, I must caveat that we are doing it at our own risk. Best is to do it in a group of at least 2 people just to be safe. I was too hungry that day i decided to do it solo 🤣

Thank you for sharing, I will try this adventure👌🏼
Thanks for watching😄. If you have no prior paddling experience, I would advise you to take lesson, learn about safety measures, and clock at least 8 hours of paddling in different types of water conditions before attempting this adventure (preferably do it in a group). Have fun paddling! 😄
hi sir, may i know how you navigate your way from beach to the kelong ? using hp or hand held gps, or by gut feel ?
Thanks for watching, you raised a very good question! 😄🤝 I read Google map for a general direction the night before. As the distance to the kelong is about 2km+ with clear line of sight, i could see the kelongs from the beach where i launched (not quite clear, but can tell it is around there). With Pulau Ubin always in the backdrop, i feel very safe that i won't be lost in the sea. Also with my prior practise, i know it will take me roughly 25 to 40 minutes to reach there (depending on wind and water condition). Hope it clarifies. Cheers and have a good day!
@@AlleyCat888 cool, when and where do you always launch ? i am using paddle kayak though
@@yeokimsong I normally park my car at Carpark F of Pasir Ris Beach (free) then walk down to the beach, and launch it at the beach next to the Kayak shop. I normally SUPing on Saturday at Sembawang, not Pasir Ris.
Greta place to visit! Unique
You may visit it by ferry, check out their website on how to go, details in Description. Have fun!
Thanks for the great video Bro! Do an equipment intro pls!

Interesting vid man, isn't it very dangerous if there is a sudden storm and you're in the middle of ur 2km journey?
Thanks for watching. Yes, it would be dangerous paddling in thunderstorm. Therefore checking weather forecast properly before hitting water is very important.
If I remember there are small bump boats that taxi you to that restaurant at Changi jetty.
Yes, that's correct, that's the way to get there. You may call the restaurant, and they will arrange it for you. When it comes to payment for the boat fare, you pay the boatman directly.

Thanks for watching 😄🤝🤝🤝 Read your question on my other video, i will reply you here (that video got some issues, i can't share it anymore). If the rain happened earlier, i would have just paddled towards the shore, won't be turning back to the kelong. As long as I cleared the channel, i am safe.
Can just kayak to any of Singapore small island? Or need to inform coast guard?
Thanks for watching. You can basically kayak to any Singapore islands, no need to inform coast guard, with a big caveat that you are doing it at your own risk. Pulau Ubin still relatively easier. It is very challenging to kayak to the islands in the south of Singapore.

Yes, you may call them for reservation at 9792 7609. They will arrange bumboat for you, you pay the boatman directly. $100 per boat return trip, can fetch max 12ppl, but not sure whether still the same price and capacity during covid. Better confirm with them, hope it helps. Cheers!
