Thanks for helping with the clean up. The problem with rubbish on beaches is that it crosses borders. Thrash on Singaporean beaches might come from Indonesia and China, and thrash from Singapore might end up in Bali. Thrash also stays for a really long time, so it could be thrash from decades ago. Its a very tricky problem.

Thx Richard. It's an excellent video. I been scuba diving there at 1 of the pier. Haven't had the chance to step on the island. U are right about the rubbish, some of us diver have been collecting rubbish on the sea floor. Everyone needs to pitch in. Each time 1 go down I make it a point to bring some rubbish up. Unfortunately I couldn't post any video on the comments, there's a very nice eco system in the waters around Hantu. Last dive I video a clown fish (Nemo) about the size half of an A4 paper.

The rubbish situation on the northern shores of Punggol area from Coney Island to Punggol Marina is much more disgusting during this monsoon season or whenever a strong northerly blows. The authorities have been cleaning up regularly but it is hard to catch up with the amount of rubbish flowing in with the winds and tides. Also the people fishing along the promenade especially along the stretch outside the soon to be completed new flats between Punggol Marina and Punggol settlement litter the place heavily with all kinds of rubbish on a daily/ nightly basis with impunity.

I like the part where you showed the rain (fm heavy to smaller rain to rain stopping) and the surroundings. I thought that was beautiful, nice... 😍💘!! As for the negative comments abt rubbish, sometimes some of our locals are like in a state of denial, thinking that we dun litter. Actually that's not true. Littering comes from both locals and foreigners alike. Unfortunately most times, the ones I saw are locals (incl adults who set bad examples) yes! I have personally witnessed local youths, usually secondary school to poly age, actually throwing or leaving trash behind (normally bubble tea or McDonald cups, wrappers). I also hv seen expat kids (meaning ang moh kids, again around same age) doing the same, left Mc cups in a bus and alighted/ left. It boils down to respect for environment and most of all, family teaching 家教。A few times around the neighborhood, I can't stand discarded plastic bags ruining the nice grass. So I picked up the rubbish plastic and bin them. To conclude, personally I believe that instead of blaming others, we should start w. ourselves and families first, adults esp. Yes.

Thanks so much for bringing awareness to the beauty of this island, and it's fragility, impacted by all this trash floating around.
I, for my part, will surely come down soon-ish :)

    Its not two islands...;-)
Its the same island with a sunken lagoon in the middle..
Been there for scuba diving, but you should go to Tiomen island for diving...

A devil is more honest with its appearance than 'The Devils In Disguise'..."you look like an angel, talk like an angel, walk like an angel..." It's my Elvis' favourite song.
