Researching this as I have to add a switch to a live stack next week. Fantastic video thanks. I think I'm ready :)
Glad I could help!
hello Bro, 2 questions:
1-what it is the funtion of do this stacking?
2- does it is possible to do stacking in regular switches using its uplinks?
thanks in advance and greetings from Monterrey Mexico.
really nice one. I have one question the connector is SFP module.
The connector is the StackWise connector on the back of the switch, with special StackWise cables
@@AliYounesGo4IT ok thanks
Good video Ali, if you can do a video explaining how do you do a Master switch to copy to the configuration to the others switches from the beginning that will be perfect. Muy buen video Felicidades
Thank you for your suggestion. I am not working in a Cisco environment anymore, but I will try it in a lab
Do more practical videos
Thank you
I will try my best!
If you incorrectly insert the StackWise cable upside down, would it fit and be able to screw it completely in? I know it wouldn't work, I'm just curious if would fit in. Thanks!
No, you wouldn't be able to plug it in, it's only one way where the "Cisco" word is straight/upright.
Hope this helps!
Thanks Ali , Great Video.
My pleasure, thanks!
Hello. I have some questions. Did you use default stock '50CM Type 1 Stacking Cable' (STACK-T1-50CM) except one long ? How long is last cable ? Is 'Cisco Stackwise-480 1 m stacking cable spare' (STACK-T1-1M=) long enough to connect 1st and last in stack of 4 SWs ?
Yes exactly, I used the 50CM that came with the switches, and then the 1M to connect the 1st and last switches. The 1 meter is long enough!
We are going to install a 7*C9300 stack and want to know if 1M stacking cable will be sufficient
very nice video
Thank you!
Hello, I have 2 switches, one Active and the other standby, what happens when the Active goes off? Are both turned off?
The standby will become Active until the initial active switch comes back up and has higher priority.
You might need to reboot the stack so that the switch with higher priority takes the active role again.
@@AliYounesGo4IT do we need two stacking cables to make loop for 2 stack switch setup.
@@harshanetpro Yes, two cables for two switches
i need to upgrade a single 3850-24P-S that is in bundle mode from 3.x.x to Denali 16.3.x ...please let me know how to do the upgrade...i have downloaded the .bin file from cisco download page and have saved it in the flash.
You can use the command "software install file flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.16.03.xx.SPA.bin"
This is a good document you can look at:
www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3850/software/release/16-3/release_notes/ol-16-3-3850.html#29254
Good luck!
@@AliYounesGo4IT thanks...Will check
Nice. Can you Make a video on how to configure just 1.alone racked?
