I haven't played WoW in about 18 months or so. I burnt out fairly early on in Cataclysm. I bought WoD because a few other friends did, not knowing what was going to be in the game. Learning about Garrisons, I can feel my life being slowly sucked away...
Fantastic! My thanks! I was putzing about my own garrison Alliance-side, but this works for both. I learned a few things from your video. I will be sharing this with all of my WoW buddies.
Great guide, thanks a lot for saving us the time. Also, it's neither sad no depressing, it's what you and us enjoy. Edit: saw the song title. It kicks ass and reminded me of Method.
This is very good. Its kind of like ArcheAge, in the sense that you get to take a variety of proffesions while in your garrison, and make money. I love it
Thank you Kelani, for making this informative video. I was just returning to WOW after about a year+ away. I had just gotten my Garrison and then quit WoW. So I'm back and had zero idea on how to run a Garrison and even what they were for or if they were just fluff. So, thank you and luck and loot to you. Mereind
Hmmm, truthfully, the Garrison features have given me a large itch to come back to WoW. :) Thanks for the video, was really interested for sth like that.
You’ve explained everything except how to get to Garrison in the first place edit: i googled it "Your Garrison is unlocked almost immediately after starting in Draenor, in Shadowmoon Valley for Alliance players or Frostfire Ridge for Horde players. You need to follow the main quest line and, after a few quests, you will end up with a Garrison Level 1 in which Barracks Level 1 are built."
+Armidilly Correct? Better? There is no such thing with something like this. It doesn't matter how you say it. Both pronunciations are in the dictionary. No good comes from an eagerness to tell others they are wrong.
thanks for the video. But as someone who hit 91, and has 1 barracks, and 1 small slot, I was hoping for a garrisons 101. Ie when/how toget more buildings, when/ what to do to get lvl 2,3 garrison. when do you get access to blue prints.
Interesting... WOW players can now become even more reclusive and immersed in their own little Garrison Micro-Managing World ;-) I gave up playing WOW during that Pandaria fiasco but, a year or two later, I DO have the urge to play again... Considering I've been playing WOW since Vanilla. I'm just not really sure about Draenor (and this garrison feature) at the moment... As SignsOfKelani has quite rightly said... "Don't knock it until you've tried it!' and, it's not like I have anything against games in which you have to do a lot of micro management. But, say, unlike Vanilla Rome Total War, in which I had immense pleasure in building and managing my fledgling Roman Empire, you did have a chance to get right into the action during the battle turns in that game. Indeed, games like Rome can almost be considered as TWO games: The map-micro-management part and those amazing, fully engaging and tense 3D battles. Also, I only played Rome campaigns and enjoyed this entire world all to myself. But WOW?... Isn't WOW meant to be all about massive multi-player on-line gaming? Isn't WOW all about groups of Real Human Beings, having fun together in a fictional and virtual world? And I guess many of those 2.9 million or so players, who left (according to March 2015 figures) have probably asked themselves those same questions. I guess the social aspect of WOW; the only reason why I joined up in the first place, is continuing to decline at apace! A Pity... It truly is... But then... Nothing Lasts Forever... Even Amazing Games / Experiences like WOW.
GrexTheCrabasitor Thanks for the heads up Grex! Unfortunately, I don't have much time these days to play WOW much. I got that disappointing Draenor expansion a while back and my highest toon is still only lvl 93! (Along with 8 other lvl 90'ish toons) I'm hoping to get at least one toon to 100, in time for Legion but, I don't think my heart is in this game any more... This game has changed so much, mostly in the wrong direction! But maybe one day, I'll check out that vanilla server... Because I sure miss those good 'ole days when this game was sociable, challenging and FUN :-( So... Until our next meeting aye? :-)
This video is amazing dude! Thank you very much for making this understandable, it will help me a lot! You are great keep up the good work! You've just got another subscriber!
I quit playing for about 6 years. I just started back up less then a month ago. I've been exploiting the lunafall Garrison to level all my 90s past 100. Just by collecting ore and herbs (daily in the Garrison.) and bare minimum amounts of quests. My question is, is there a similar exploit for legion, and BFA?
As far as I can tell it gives them more abilities example green follower only could counter 2 things while my purple could counter about 6 that sure if this is the follower or the fact that's he's purple
No. Every character have own buildings and own things. Saem goes with recipes. You have to buy them again on new character. Garrison costs a lot of gold at start, but I think it will pay off during expansion. When you build everything it gives just proffit. I had few missions that give 500 gold, for example. Plan to spend at least 15000 gold on every character tho. But when you are done, you jsut make gold.
Perhaps individually "phased" is the best term, rather than instanced. There is no loading. If you are with other people, they will just disappear. The same happens with some of the nodes (herb, minting, wild battle pets) that are around the outskirts of the garrison zone.
It might have been helpful when you were sending out followers to tell people that the scroll shown on the list of mission rewards grants additional follower if successful.
I am having a little trouble with this. My first character is not a miner or an herbalist and cannot pick or mine at the garrison. Did they change it or something?... because my experience is contrary to what you are saying in this video. I am certain your pool of wisdom is much larger and deeper than mine in respect to this stuff, but I am finding all of the Garrison videos on youtube to be dead wrong about just about everything. Can you help me to understand why this is? One of my characters is a miner and herbalist and he can mine and herb the garrison, but his buildings just take away all of his herbs and ore to produce things he cannot use in any way, leaving me essentially robbed. Why would they force players to do a thing that steals all of the players resources and money? Because of this my funds for buying fast flying for my next alt is gone completely-- when I was trying to invest in something that claims to be a source of profitability. As a returning player I am finding it virtually impossible to make back any of my lost funds. Not only that but Blizzard seems to have decided that they never have to explain anything at all now, so the only way to learn anything seems to be the unavoidable path of death, taxes, and gravity. I do not understand why they would break the game in so serous of a way while continuing to fail to fix the smaller issues that are equally infuriating, such as your character not being ale to walk over a tiny pebble or tab onto a new enemy (
What I'm wondering is, having garrisons can help in pvp, pvp? or just farming, in which case if you get 2 or 3 chars with garrisons you can collect a lot without actually going into the world, is that so? I say this cause I have 5 90s but mostly play 1 as main.
There is a pvp building that does help you considerably when it comes to world pvp but not so much in battlegrounds and arena. But if you plan on spending a lot of time in Ashran it could be very helpful.
Well, hopefully all this will make wpvp a lot more enaging xD I'm one of those who take open pvp any day over arenas and this is looking quite good in regards to that.
***** So it's not worth taking crafting professions? I've read the game forums but no clear info yet, my two main chars, Paladin, hunter, and a Feral druid alt, do have crafting profs, but looking at this, it seems I should drop them and get, perhaps, skinning and herbalism? Or maybe Engineering and Alchemy for main, oh dear so much new stuff... This is confusing xD
Claudio Frollo If you pick up a profession building for a profession that you don't have, it will open up some of the basic things from that profession. But if you pick one that you do have, you'll be able to make more powerful things than someone that does not have the profession. For example, my main is an Alchemist. And when I built the Alchemy Lab, the first thing is that it opened up a series of potion recipes to help me level Alchemy faster. Then there are greater flasks, that improve the benefit by 25% (increase stat from 200 for a regular flask to 250 with the greater flask).
I just picked WoW up since I quit in MoP and I'm totally lost as to what the hell is going on now. I managed to lvl to 60 and I got 80 renown so I figured I'd start my Garrison but I just don't understand what I'm suppose to do.
WAIT WAIT WAIT... You mean to tell me you don't need to pick up mining or herbalism to do stuff in Draenor anymore? You just walk in, pick up the stuff and leave?
Rich! Do I have to fuck around with these Garrisons as I level to 100? Is it integral to leveling? Can I ignore this crap until I am bored at level 100? Hope you are well lovely xxx Hado
Its fun D: you kind of have to make it at the start of Shadowmoon (ew Alliance), but you *could* ignore it until 100 if you wanted to. You'd be a little behind by then though, each building takes time to make. I'd have a play when you build it! A lot of folk are crapping on Garrisons then when they actually get to play it they change their minds :P. Go go pew pew!
this is actually kind of disappointing. I thought garrisons were gonna be more like a home building feature, like hearthfire for skyrim. I would love to build my own Karazhan style castle. :)
Looks interesting and it's kind of fun from my limited experience so far, but in the end I think it;s just more solo junk in what is supposed to be a multiplayer game.
what I especially don't like with garrisons is if you have the trader you basically get free money everyday its lame, without even workling for it and the mine and herbgarden is also quite stupid.
Warmill gives a bigger chance (double) to get rare/epic gear from questing. Without the warmill, I was rewarded 1/10 items upgraded to rare/epic. With the warmill it'll be twice as common. Why is that not the absolute best? Imagine questing at lvl 100, too. Seriously, why is that not the hands down best building?
I don't understand. When I hearth to my garrison, where do I go? There are other people there. Is it public? Every video guide I've watched makes the assumption that you're already familiar with garrisons, which renders the video pretty much useless. Where's the "getting started" type of stuff?
Garrisons are instanced. If you see anyone else who isn't in your party then the garrison instances are broken. You'll have to wait for them to be fixed or try spam /reload and you may get lucky.
I haven't played WoW in about 18 months or so. I burnt out fairly early on in Cataclysm. I bought WoD because a few other friends did, not knowing what was going to be in the game. Learning about Garrisons, I can feel my life being slowly sucked away...
Is that a good thing or bad thing?
Heh, a good thing for now. A better thing since my wife has a copy up and running as well.
Bob Thewitchdoctor Well that's lucky, Almost , Just comment on this in 3 months :D
Excellent overall guide to garrisons and ideally what I was looking for.
Thank you! this video really cleared up the Garrisons for me, can't wait to get one started.
Thank you, this is one of the best guides I've seen so far
Fantastic!
It kicks ass and reminded me of Method.
the whole garrison idea is amazing for a single player game, but not healthy at all for a mmo
Fuck all to do now bud just use the garrison for gold until the next expansion -_-
Except MMO are dying because of the MMO expect
So lonely...miss my friends haha
Thank you for the great video. Clear concise and to the point. Easily saved me a few hours of reading 4 different websites to find the same info.
I'm more excited for this than any other feature in WoD.
nice to see something new to the game this looks like gonna be fun at end game
Garrison, Class Hall, etc etc...so many things to catch up on! Lol
Excellent guide, I hope you will make more guides!
Thanks a lot for this video Kelani. Really helped clear a few things up for me.
Glad it was useful ^_^.
This is very good. Its kind of like ArcheAge, in the sense that you get to take a variety of proffesions while in your garrison, and make money. I love it

thanks a lot great video, i think of coming back to wow again with the new expansion and this video helped me a lot to understand about the Garrisons
great explaining things everything with no! shanagins . well done overall thanks for all your info. helped me out alot . Moon
Hmmm, truthfully, the Garrison features have given me a large itch to come back to WoW. :)
Thanks for the video, was really interested for sth like that.
Great video bro. You have an awesome way of saying things so that they are easily understood. Subscribing for sure! Best of luck m8!
You’ve explained everything except how to get to Garrison in the first place
edit: i googled it "Your Garrison is unlocked almost immediately after starting in Draenor, in Shadowmoon Valley for Alliance players or Frostfire Ridge for Horde players. You need to follow the main quest line and, after a few quests, you will end up with a Garrison Level 1 in which Barracks Level 1 are built."
The way you say herb is cracking me up lol, great video though man!
"without ever having to go mining, or herbing"
I lol'ed too, it's a very informative video though in my opinion.
+David Fair Its the correct way. Better than the cringey americans that say 'erb', its 'herb'
+Armidilly Smashing!
+Armidilly Correct? Better? There is no such thing with something like this. It doesn't matter how you say it. Both pronunciations are in the dictionary. No good comes from an eagerness to tell others they are wrong.
so now capital cities will be empty because everyone is just hanging out in their garrison
So, i know why ppl hate this expansion
Thanks for the guide.
how do i get rid of the big obsidian rock near the north gate?
thanks for the video. But as someone who hit 91, and has 1 barracks, and 1 small slot, I was hoping for a garrisons 101. Ie when/how toget more buildings, when/ what to do to get lvl 2,3 garrison. when do you get access to blue prints.
are there 7 or 10 plots for your garrison? on one site, there are two different pages that say these things?
whats the music at the end of the video ?
Great video.
Thanks for making it.

GrexTheCrabasitor Thanks for the heads up Grex!

How is an Ogre a "subltety" rogue?? Seriously... there's nothing subtle about Ogres. LOL
+Steve Rennie (Robotzh8teme) That why he has to be so subtle.

So, if you send your followers out on a mission, and they fail will they be dead and gone?
Where i can get more building blueprints?
This video is amazing dude! Thank you very much for making this understandable, it will help me a lot! You are great keep up the good work! You've just got another subscriber!
Great vid!
Nice thank you for this video. Really can´t wait for WoD, just 4 days! :-)
If you replace a lvl 2 or three building and you want it back later will you have to start it at lvl 1 again?
how do you find the horde garrison area on a map?
im alliance and trying to find it just to see
Thank you for the video, it's been a great help :)
hey man im curious how to get more blueprints please do a video about how to get more blueprints im on the alliance side.
ruclips.net/video/XTENJ1-tmHk/видео.html
Works same for horde and alliance. Level up and buy them from your blueprint vendor.
hi,i want a know witch small, medium and large goes to a jewelcrafting and mining ??? plzzz
I quit playing for about 6 years. I just started back up less then a month ago. I've been exploiting the lunafall Garrison to level all my 90s past 100. Just by collecting ore and herbs (daily in the Garrison.) and bare minimum amounts of quests.
My question is, is there a similar exploit for legion, and BFA?
where can / do you build this garrison ?
so can enemies attack you garrisons and stuff? Can you have sieges?
Question, how does your Garrison work to get you gear?
one thing i'd like to know about the followers. Does exp have any benefit after they turn purple?
Samuel Denman nope
As far as I can tell it gives them more abilities example green follower only could counter 2 things while my purple could counter about 6 that sure if this is the follower or the fact that's he's purple
If I get the mount speed building to level three - do any of my other characters get the speed boost too, or do they need to build it themselves?
I believe the speed bonus is only for the characters with the building.
No. Every character have own buildings and own things. Saem goes with recipes. You have to buy them again on new character. Garrison costs a lot of gold at start, but I think it will pay off during expansion. When you build everything it gives just proffit. I had few missions that give 500 gold, for example. yeah but i mean like where do i get more blueprints to exchange for blueprint vendor?
You don't. You buy more blueprints from the blueprint vendor right next to your architect table. You only get a few free buildings.
Ok question, is this instanced or is it just on a plot of land out in the world for anyone to come in and out of?
It's all instanced. You can invite party members to your Garrison, though! So you can still hang out, but folk can't come crash your party.
just how. just.. stfu
how do u get to the instance?
Earle Doudera you just run in. Its phased with no loading screen like the farm.
Perhaps individually "phased" is the best term, rather than instanced. There is no loading. If you are with other people, they will just disappear. The same happens with some of the nodes (herb, minting, wild battle pets) that are around the outskirts of the garrison zone.
can you take your geared followers with you when you enter a dungeon?
Nope, followers stay in your Garrison.
The garrison is character or account bound?
How do i visit my Garison?
Can't get over the way he says herb
Most helpful! Thank you :)
Great job, Thank you!!!
where do you find your Garrison? or where do you start it?
Frostfire / Shadowmoon depending on your faction. You HAVE to build it, so don't worry :P.
Love the Video. Great Presentation. Please make a Gaggle of them.
very helpful thanks

At what level do you get a garrison?
90. After introduction quests you get it, but level 1. And it progresses further. At level 100 you get to upgrade it to level 3.
You get to build your garrison after you go through the portal at level 90
heads up both the clickable links in the end of the video go to your hearthstone video
Well that's not ideal, thanks for the heads up.
thanks so much
can you see others garrisons?
Yes right click on their name and click view garrison. Hope this helps :)

I beg your pardon.. I never promised you an herb garden!
thats sick where your followers unlock armor and weapons :O
no one says what the point it about the followers geting the bonus xp when they r at max lvl no one can answer this for me ive just been wondering!
If it's 100 and epic, exp does nothing at all for that follower.
ok tyvm for answering me
how do i even get 1?

NONE ANSWER TO HOW CAN I MAKE MY GARRISON (yes i am new and i wanna learn some things about WoW)
+p g You need to be lvl 90 and have the WoD espansion. It will come in a questline, after doing the intro in Draenor.
I’m setlow in blades edge realm
sad that your guide does not provide any useful information. like, well, how do i build the town hall?
clash of garrisons?
