Thank you so much for this. Couldn't find a clear, concise written guide on how to get it to level 2.
A little confession here. Vol'jin is my favorite character and after Legion launched, I didn't take his shipyard quest on any of my Hoard toons. Now I just have him chilling forever in their garrisons. 😅
Hail Kraken, Couple notes for you.
1. In the area that you plant flags before your garrison is built. there is a big bird nest in the middle of the area, kind of by the cave. there is a egg in that nest for some resources before your garrison is even built.
2. There is a pug dog that runs around your garrison, if you follow him around he goes to the spots where the resources are, he is much easier to follow if you put a
marker on him
3. A level 3 blacksmith shop, with a assigned blacksmith follow to it will allow you to get a 4 hour buff that your armor and weapons do no take damage, as long as you do not die that is. with no cool down how you getting it reapplied to you. and that will work in all later expansion. I do not think it will stay into previous expansion though. "not 100% on that part"

If your horde, you can go to the alliance water section of the garrison and grab those supplies as well. Obviously you can't grab the ones inside the garrison, but the water zone ones are up for grabs.
Woo! Thank you for this walk through! You read my mind. I was hoping you'd do this since you mentioned it in you Alt Army series. I didn't realize the Mage Tower had portals in it...derp.
For easy Garrison resources, just go to Tanaan Jungle and pick up the Radiating Apexis Shards. They give around 20 - 50 each and there's always so many that are up ^^ Best place is at Ruins of Kra'nak imo

This just reminded me how much upkeep the Garrisons were. Still don't think I ever got rank 3 of all my buildings even on my mains I had back then. Still need to get around to getting and AH unlocked, just so I can have it. I did get all my alts their Garrisons though in BFA, when I had been farming for the Long Boi. I like that the Garrison can still be used and is a nice getaway when you don't feel like messing with whatever the current content may be.
You can get one follower a week from the tavern. You can pick a specific trait or skill on them so you can use them in your buildings.
Oh thank goodness there was a video for this. I found out there was a unique transmog set from Garrison and my character (created in BFA) has never even set foo-- er, paw on Draenor outside of raid transmog runs. Thank you! This helps me out a lot. I love you! ;w;

I just went through this for the second time and it was way more fun the second time around. I hope that pattern holds for the upcoming onslaught of alts. lol
Same here. Just ran through WoD to level an alt and whipped up another garrison. Great xp and it really does seem like some of the more annoying requirements/quests have been nerfed or removed. Much easier to set up.

48 toons all over 50. I've had my garrys all unlocked and maxed back in the xpact. Back in the day gold missions on table were awesome. When legion came out they also had tables with gold missions. With 48 toons i used to make 30 to 50k a day . Legion used to have 1500 and 2k missions everyday that made alt army's crazy gold. Glad your still making content. Seen lots more you could do to garrys like get your box to hold 1k resources instead of only 500. But great vid keep them up.
I didn't include the 1k resources bit just because that requires a rep grind, which certainly is not an "initial setup" sort of thing for first timers (at least to me). And thank you for watching! I'm not stopping content anytime soon even if they do come out slower than I'd like.

I finished shipyard level 3 on my toon within the last 2 months (Dec 21 - Feb 22) and it required the 25 treasure mission quest to get my shipyard to level 3.
You can buy Huge Ogre Caches from AH they contain 1000 garrison resources

Update:
After much testing by Kraken and myself, we have determined that there is a hidden level requirement required to get the Bigger Is Better quest, added in some time between 9.0.5 and now. You can either do the zone's intro questline (in the Horde's case it is up to the point where Ga'nar challenges Durotan to a Mok'gorah), or you can simply level up your character.
I have determined that the level requirement to skip this is level 15. This may not matter to most of you, but if you're the kind who wants to get knee-deep in WoD garrisons and get that sweet sweet Scribe Quarters gold farm going, you'll need to get to level 15 before you can rank up your garrison to rank 2.

An additional treasure can be found when you are setting up your Garrison on the alliance side, before you create it. It is in the darkraven matriarch's nest. You can come in behind it without aggroing her.
A good tip i saw was if you have no followers and are going back to Garrisons like me, if you get the Inn to rank 2, each week you can recruit a follower of your choosing to fit into your profession plots i.e you can pick someone with Mining or Tailoring etc

Hey there is another method for the ressource : the ogre cache , just need to have a main who do the mission to have it or buy them in the AH. ^^
About 18 Horde garrisons and I never knew about or found the treasures.

I have the Garrison on a few of my toons. Only fully upgraded on two. Only my Main uses the Naval Yard. I know you can get heirloom rings from doing missions there. I've watched other videos on how to unlock the Spyglass. But I don't know what I need in my navy. How many ships, what type and what abilities. And is it worth it?
Regardless the Garrison is worth having. So many free resources and if you have tailors... bags!
i just want the dang turtle mount from fishing in the garrison. says rank 3 garrioson and fishing shack required. doesnt seem like too much effort to get that set up. thanks for the video.
If you're watching this and your first mission table mission is greyed out, disable all addons and it will work.

Hi! I'm kinda new into the official, so I'm leveling up my ele shamy (32) and now im at Draenor. That questline doesn't appear in Orgrimmar for me. It shows two quests from Cataclysm and one from Legion. I'm super lost i'm trying to find more videos about it but there is not. I don't have any level 50+ character so I can't use Chromie yet. Any advice? Thank you!

How long does this generally take? Say for example I just unlocked the garrison and got my hearth, if i sit and play until its fully unlocked and upgraded - how long could it take?

As someone who made 30 + millions on wod garrison in wod... from 13 toons doing mission tables+mats why would you do it now? From my perspective, time is alot better spent setting up Mission tables in Shadowlands if your doing it from purely a gold perspective?
I get quest from bord then went there but there wasn't any npc!! What i should do??
The user Interface: XP and Level Tracker Weak Aura you use, how do you setup the xp bar thats below the level 50
That's the xp bar from ElvUI. You can resize it how ever you like.

the npc doesnt have the quest "My Very Own Fortress" and I cant build a level 3 garrison. I have a level 2 one. am i missing something or bug? tracking low level quests dont work. relogging dont work. exiting the area and coming back doesnt work. bug?
EDIT: So this seems to be a bug only for the new Envoker class. the quest doesnt show up. just tested again on my lvl 60 demon hunter. it comes up straight away no issues.

Is there a trick that I don´t have the requirements with the quest chain for rank 2? I have the rank 1 Garrison but for rank 2 it's still saying I need to complete those quest ( Bigger is Better). Like I remember from WoD.
You do need to complete Rank 2 Bigger is Better and Rank 3 quests if you want to unlock the rest of your garrison, there's no way around that part.
Went to Ashran(2yearsLater) and its completely different.. Well gg I guess we're done here
The black market auction house in the garrison doesn't let you actually bid in anything :(

You need to be level 20 to get the bigger is better quest to unlock level 2 of the garrison!

Oh so it didn't change what the problem was is you chose to go from the portal straight to this guy Velen.. Was very confused for like 2 hours.. You have to remember, people are brand new and have no idea that you moved 5 miles to the northwest.. Sighh helpful but not really, kinda like you were setting up a puzzle for me to figure out..

But what's the point of leveling up a garrison for ? The garrison and shipyard missions never end. By the time you have wasted enough of your life to reach lvl 3 on everything, the next expansion will be out. Shipyard missions are especially annoying, because in order to get fresh missions, you must liberate the waters, again and again and every single damn time so you can actually get new missions. Fork that. Those are the things that the disgusting slurping girl won't tell you.
